Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Ryan completed 28-of-42 passes for 262 yards, three touchdowns and one interception in Week 14 against the Green Bay Packers.

Huddle Up: It was Matty Ice's first game with three or more TDs since Nov. 4 in Washington. Overall he has managed 28 touchdowns and just six interceptions, having another decent year as a low-end QB1 in most fantasy leagues. The Falcons face the Cardinals in Week 15.

  • Posted: 12/5/2018 6:10pm ET

Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Ryan has posted his highest passer rating (106.3) against the Green Bay Packers compared to any other opponent whom he's faced more than three times in his career. In eight meetings (including playoffs), Ryan has completed 67.4 percent of his passes to go with 2,071 yards, 18 touchdowns and only five interceptions. Ryan draws them in Week 14.

Huddle Up: The former MVP award winner is coming off probably his weakest outing this season but based on his history opposite Green Bay, he'll be in position to bounce back from that right away. Cold temperatures are expected but Ryan has thrived in Lambeau Field's frigid climate multiple times before. Thus, he can still be trusted as a QB1 this week.

  • Posted: 12/4/2018 10:48am ET

Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Ryan has been sacked 36 times this season and is on pace for a career-high 48. 'Well, No. 1, I'm concerned about it because if we're not protecting him in the way that we can, then that gets hard,' Falcons coach Dan Quinn said. 'And there (are) some games that the score's out of whack and it turns into a dropback game where there's going to be more chances for a defense to go after him.'

Huddle Up: Ryan was sacked three times and hit five more times as he threw for a season-low 131 yards in the Week 13 home loss to the Ravens. And with Atlanta 4-8 and essentially out of playoff contention, there is concern, Ryan could be shut down early to preserve the 33-year-old quarterback, so it's definitely a situation to monitor if you're counting on Ryan as your main QB in the fantasy playoffs.

  • Posted: 11/22/2018 8:39pm ET

Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Ryan completed 35 of 47 yards for 377 yards, two touchdowns and an interception in a 31-17 loss to the New Orleans Saints in Week 12.

Huddle Up: Ryan piled up yards in the second half after the Falcons fell behind, and while Atlanta's record isn't pretty, he continues to put up QB1 numbers for fantasy owners.

  • Posted: 11/18/2018 1:56pm ET

Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Ryan went 24-for-34 for 291 yards, one touchdown and one interception against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 11.

Huddle Up: Ryan has thrown at least 275 yards in each of the last eight games but was held to one passing touchdown in two of the last four games. He will be facing the New Orleans Saints next week and could be a low-end No. 1 quarterback because it should be a high-scoring game.

  • Posted: 11/18/2018 9:55am ET

Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Ryan has thrown 14 of his 21 touchdown passes at home this season.

Huddle Up: Ryan faces a tougher-than-usual test today in the Cowboys, who have allowed the 10th-fewest fantasy points to opposing QBs, but still roll with Ryan with confidence.

  • Posted: 11/11/2018 12:58pm ET

Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Ryan went 38-for-52 for 330 yards and two touchdowns against the Cleveland Browns in Week 10.

Huddle Up: Ryan has thrown for at least 300 yards in six of the last seven games and has thrown 10 touchdowns in the last four games. He can be considered a No. 1 fantasy quarterback next week against the Dallas Cowboys.

  • Posted: 11/4/2018 5:11pm ET

Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Ryan completed 26 of 38 passes for 350 yards, four touchdowns and an interception in a 38-14 win over the Washington Redskins in Week 9.

Huddle Up: Ryan reached 350 yards for the third straight game, and he has tossed at least three scores in three of his last five. He's playing at an MVP level once again and is a weekly QB1 option.

  • Posted: 10/22/2018 8:38pm ET

Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Ryan completed 31-of-39 passes for 379 yards, one touchdowns and no interceptions in the Week 7 game against the New York Giants on Monday, Oct. 22.

Huddle Up: Ryan was very careful with the ball, throwing plenty of short-yardage, low-risk routes, although he did air it out for a 47-yard touchdown to Marvin Hall to open the scoring midway through the second quarter. Ryan continues to be a solid fantasy option, although you'll need to make alternate plans with a bye coming in Week 8 for the Falcons.

  • Posted: 10/16/2018 9:42am ET

Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Ryan has completed 18-of-20 red-zone passing attempts since Week 2 which is tops among all 29 quarterbacks with more than 10 red-zone passing attempts.

Huddle Up: Ryan and the Falcons have certainly responded after their 2017 red-zone struggles carried over into the Week 1 loss in Philly, and partly as a result, Ryan trails only the Chiefs' Patrick Mahomes in total QB fantasy points on the season. Now, if only they could find a way to include Julio Jones in the mix ...

  • Posted: 10/14/2018 7:41pm ET

Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Ryan completed 31 of his 41 passes for 354 yards and three touchdowns in a 34-29 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 6.

Huddle Up: Ryan continues to look a lot like the player who took home MVP honors in 2016, and he needs to be treated as a QB1 until further notice.

  • Posted: 10/8/2018 12:52pm ET

Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Ryan (foot) underwent an X-ray on his foot following Week 5's loss, but head coach Dan Quinn said Ryan will play in Week 6.

Huddle Up: While he didn't necessarily play poorly, Ryan disappointed in what was supposed to be a shootout with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Look for him to rebound in a big way in a tasty matchup at home versus the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

  • Posted: 10/7/2018 1:17pm ET

Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Ryan went 26-for-38 for 285 yards and one touchdown against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 5.

Huddle Up: Ryan has thrown for at least 270 yards in each of the last four games and has 10 touchdowns during that span. He will be facing Tampa Bay Buccaneers next week and should be considered a No. 1 quarterback in all leagues.

  • Posted: 9/30/2018 2:50pm ET

Atlanta Falcons WR Matt Ryan completed 29-of-39 passes for 419 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions in the Week 4 game against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Huddle Up: Ryan has stepped up his game over the past two starts, totaling eight TD passes. He has also managed 10 TD strikes with just one INT over his past three while completing at least 74.3 percent of his attempts in each outing. With Devonta Freeman (knee) on the shelf, the Atlanta offense has been more pass heavy, and Ryan has really started to jell nicely with Calvin Ridley. The Falcons travel to meet the Steelers in Week 5.

  • Posted: 9/23/2018 4:26pm ET

Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Ryan completed 26-of-35 passes for 374 yards, five touchdowns and no interceptions in the Week 3 loss against the New Orleans Saints. The five TDs were a career high and he tied the franchise record set by QB Wade Wilson back in Week 15 of the 1992 season.

Huddle Up: After laying an egg in Week 1 with no TDs, Ryan has nine total touchdowns over the past two games. He'll look to keep it rolling in Week 4 against the Cincinnati Bengals, a defense which allowed four total touches to Cam Newton on Sunday.

  • Posted: 9/16/2018 2:49pm ET

Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Ryan completed 23-of-28 passes for 272 yards, two touchdowns and one interception in the Week 2 win against Carolina Panthers while posting two rushing scores, posting his 100th career NFL win.

Huddle Up: It was the first time Ryan has had two rushing touchdowns in the same game since he was in college. He'll look to stay hot in Week 3 against the New Orleans Saints in a potential shootout. He remains a solid low-end QB1 in most fantasy leagues.

  • Posted: 9/6/2018 9:33pm ET

Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Ryan completed 21 of 43 passes for 251 yards against the Philadelphia Eagles on Thursday, Sept. 6. Ryan tossed one interception and did not account for a touchdown.

Huddle Up: Ryan was OK -- well, as long as he was targeting Julio Jones -- but the Falcons once again struggled in the red zone, which was a theme for the club under Steve Sarkisian last year. In 17 regular season games under Sarkisian, Ryan has now thrown 20 TDs against 13 INTs, which is a far cry from his performance when Kyle Shanahan was calling the shots. The former MVP is a solid QB2 in fantasy circles until further notice.

  • Posted: 8/17/2018 6:59pm ET

Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Ryan completed five of his seven passes for 90 yards and a touchdown against the Kansas City Chiefs in the preseason Friday, Aug. 17.

Huddle Up: Ryan probably isn't going to perform at the level he did in 2016 when he took home MVP honors, but he is a safe bet for 4,000-plus yards and 20-plus touchdowns. He's a dependable, low-end QB1.

  • Posted: 8/10/2018 7:11pm ET

Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Ryan played one drive against the New York Jets in the preseason opener Friday, Aug. 10, losing three yards on his only pass attempt.

Huddle Up: At this point in his career, Ryan's biggest goal in the preseason is to avoid any injuries. He's a safe bet for 4,000-plus yards and 20-plus touchdowns and is no worse than a high-end QB2.

  • Posted: 6/13/2018 6:08pm ET

Atlanta QB Matt Ryan said he plans to work out with the receivers before training camp and expects WR Julio Jones to participate in the workouts.

Huddle Up: Jones has skipped most of the offseason workouts because of his contract situation but should report to training camp on time. Jones is one of the top receivers in the NFL and will be a No. 1 fantasy receiver in all leagues. Ryan also has a chance to be aa No. 1 fantasy quarterback.

  • Posted: 5/3/2018 1:08pm ET

Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Ryan agreed to a five-year contract extension with the Falcons Thursday, May 3, that will make him the first quarterback to make $30 million per season, according to sources. The deal includes $100 million in guaranteed money.

Huddle Up: Ryan has been a solid quarterback over the last several years and probably will spend the rest of his career with the Falcons. He has terrific weapons in the passing game and is adding Calvin Ridley to the receiving corps. He can be considered a low-end No. 1 quarterback in leagues in 2018.

  • Posted: 3/21/2018 7:46pm ET

Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Ryan's talks with the club concerning a contract extension 'appear to have hit a snag,' with general manager Thomas Dimitroff saying he couldn't put a timetable on it. He added he doesn't know how close the two sides are but that 'we talk about it and it seems like things are right around the corner.'

Huddle Up: Previously, it was thought that an extension would get done this week, but now it seems that is no longer the case. Nonetheless, it is still likely that the two sides come to an agreement, with Ryan, a recent league MVP who has taken his team to the Super Bowl, probably going to get somewhere around $30 million annually. Not only is he probably the best quarterback in the history of the franchise, he's also still a legit QB1 for fantasy purposes in all formats.

  • Posted: 3/19/2018 11:40pm ET

Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Ryan is 'likely' to sign a contract extension this week that is 'expected to pay him near $30 million per season,' according to Jeff Schultz of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Huddle Up: After reaching the Super Bowl and winning MVP honors during the 2016 season, Ryan took a step back this past season, though that isn't to say he had a down year, since he certainly did not. After all, the 10-year veteran still eclipsed the 4,000-yard mark for the seventh straight campaign while logging a solid 91.4 passer rating. He's still firmly in the QB1 picture without question and should present much better value next season.

  • Posted: 2/2/2018 7:52pm ET

Atlanta Falcons owner Arthur Blank expects QB Matt Ryan to take a hometown discount when the two sides work on a contract extension. 'We expect him to work with us to ensure there?s talent around him,' Blank said.

Huddle Up: Expect the Falcons to do what it takes to keep Ryan around. Although his numbers slipped from his 2016 MVP campaign this season, he remains a perennial QB1 candidate.

  • Posted: 1/18/2018 10:52am ET

Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Ryan's potential contract extension will be the focus of the offseason, according to general manager Thomas Dimitroff.

Huddle Up: Ryan's 2018 numbers paled in comparison to his 2017 MVP campaign, but he was bound to regress after a career year. The veteran signal-caller has thrown over 4,000 yards in seven straight seasons now and is a threat for QB1 status each year.

  • Posted: 1/13/2018 3:59pm ET

Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Ryan went 22-for-36 for 210 yards and one touchdown against the Philadelphia Eagles in the Divisional Round playoff game Saturday, Jan. 13.

Huddle Up: Ryan played well this season but was held to one or fewer touchdown passes in each of his last eight games. He should have most of his weapons back next season and can be a low-end No. 1 fantasy quarterback or a solid backup in all fantasy leagues.

  • Posted: 1/11/2018 11:00am ET

Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Ryan (non-injury related) participated fully in practice Thursday, Jan. 11, but is not on the injury report for the Divisional Round playoff game against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Huddle Up: Ryan is good to go for the divisional playoff matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles. He'll need to be at his best in a hostile playoff environment versus an elite defense, but he is a cheaper DFS play on DraftKings.

  • Posted: 1/10/2018 8:47pm ET

Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Ryan has completed at least 70 percent of his passes in five straight postseason contests after his performance in the team's Wild Card Round victory Saturday, Jan. 6. Only retired QB Troy Aikman has had a longer such streak in the Super Bowl era.

Huddle Up: Ryan had one of the all-time great postseason runs a year ago, and Matty Ice apparently hasn't cooled off since after his excellent outing last week in Los Angeles. He's also thrown just one interception compared to a whopping 13 touchdowns over this five-game stretch as well. Ryan is one of the safer bets to deploy at QB this weekend in DFS formats, but owners also shouldn't be surprised if the Falcons get extra reliant on their running game in Philadelphia.

  • Posted: 1/10/2018 2:26pm ET

Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Ryan (non-injury) fully participated in practice Wednesday, Jan. 10.

Huddle Up: Ryan has been playing well over the last month but has gone eight weeks without throwing at least two touchdowns in a game. He will be facing a solid Philadelphia Eagles defense and can be a low-end No. 1 fantasy quarterback.

  • Posted: 1/9/2018 1:39pm ET

Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Ryan (personal) was absent from practice Tuesday, Jan. 9. He was at the team facility for parts of the day, however.

Huddle Up: Ryan will play as long as his personal situation isn't anything too drastic or serious. It's hard to believe he'd miss such a crucial game, especially if he was able to be at the team facility. Coming off a down year, Ryan can be viewed as a high-mid range QB2 heading into 2018.

  • Posted: 1/6/2018 8:52pm ET

Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Ryan completed 21 of his 30 passes for 218 yards and a touchdown in a 26-13 win over the Los Angeles Rams Saturday, Jan. 6.

Huddle Up: Ryan didn't post big numbers, but he was efficient as he led the Falcons to the playoff win. If you play fantasy during the postseason, expect some bigger numbers next week when he faces a Philadelphia Eagles defense that struggled down the stretch.

  • Posted: 1/4/2018 3:43pm ET

Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Ryan has the third-highest quarterback rating (minimum 150 pass attempts) in NFL history with a 102.4 mark, registering behind only retired QBs Bart Starr (104.8) and Kurt Warner (102.8).

Huddle Up: When it comes to playoff games, there's no question that the 10-year veteran lives up to his 'Matty Ice' moniker despite a 3-5 record in his postseason career. In those eight contests, Ryan has completed 194-of-285 passes (68.1 percent) for 2,244 yards, to go with 18 touchdowns compared to only seven interceptions. He'll be one of the top QB1 options to roll with from the Wild Card weekend slate.

  • Posted: 12/18/2017 9:00pm ET

Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Ryan completed 17-of-31 passes for 212 yards and a touchdown in the team's Week 15 win Monday, Dec. 18, opposite the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He also added 29 rushing yards on three attempts.

Huddle Up: It was far from the best that the reigning NFL MVP has to offer, but it wasn't a bad showing either. In fact, it was actually Ryan's highest-rated outing of the month. Still, the 32-year-old has been relatively disappointing for those who invested an early-round pick on his services this year, with too many middle-of-the-road performances such as this one throughout the 2017 campaign.
