Dallas Cowboys RB Darren McFadden lost two yards on his only carry in a 27-7 loss to the Atlanta Falcons in Week 10.

Huddle Up: McFadden looks like the odd man out in the backfield as Alfred Morris handled most of the early-down work and Rod Smith was involved in the passing game. Hang on to him for another week in case Dallas decides to shake things up, but it doesn't look like McFadden will have a role while Ezekiel Elliott is suspended.

  • Posted: 11/9/2017 12:55pm ET

Dallas Cowboys RB Alfred Morris is expected to be the starting running back against Atlanta Falcons in Week 10 because of RB Ezekiel Elliott's suspension. RB Rod Smith would serve as the No. 2 running back and be a significant part of the game plan. RB Darren McFadden could be active as the No. 3 running back.

Huddle Up: Morris has posted solid numbers in his limited playing time this week and should receive most of the carries in the running game. He can be considered a No. 2 running back or flex option in all leagues. Smith could be a flex option in deeper leagues if he does receive a decent amount of touches.

Dallas Cowboys RB Darren McFadden will be the No. 3 running back behind RB Alfred Morris and RB Rod Smith against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 9, but all three backs are expected to receive touches.

Huddle Up: McFadden is worth a speculative stash at this point, especially in PPR formats, but Morris is the only Dallas back worth starting in Week 9, and he is only a flex candidate.

  • Posted: 10/13/2017 6:37pm ET

Dallas Cowboys RB Darren McFadden is the likely starter if RB Ezekiel Elliott begins serving his suspension, according to Bryan Broaddus of DallasCowboys.com.

Huddle Up: Alfred Morris has been the No. 2 back this year, but McFadden has shown he can deliver in the lead role. Both backs deserved to be owned at this point, but both would be risky plays until they have a chance to perform without Elliott.

  • Posted: 8/15/2017 10:04am ET

Dallas Cowboys RB Alfred Morris may serve in a committee along with Darren McFadden during Ezekiel Elliott's six-game suspension, according to ESPN.com's Todd Archer.

Huddle Up: This seems unlikely given how Morris was supposedly fighting for a job less than two weeks ago, but he has shown well through two preseason games. At the very least, it appears as if he is well on his way to locking down a roster spot. Elliott owners who have already made room for McFadden may want to play it safe and try to add Morris as well, but a committee approach would likely make both players flex options at best during Dallas' grueling early schedule.

  • Posted: 8/13/2017 5:10pm ET

Dallas Cowboys RB Darren McFadden rushed six times for 28 yards in a 13-10 loss to the Los Angeles Rams in the preseason Saturday, Aug. 12, but Todd Archer of ESPNDallas.com believes McFadden left some yards on the field and thinks the Cowboys could go with a committee approach while RB Ezekiel Elliott is serving his suspension.

Huddle Up: McFadden and Alfred Morris are the likely candidates to pick up the slack while Elliott is sidelined, but McFadden is still the more attractive option. He will have RB2 potential, especially in PPR formats. Morris should be owned in case McFadden struggles or is injured.

  • Posted: 7/22/2017 8:38pm ET

Dallas Cowboys RB Darren McFadden missed the team charter Saturday, July 22, and will have to take a commercial flight to meet up with the team.

Huddle Up: McFadden enters the season as the No. 2 back behind Ezekiel Elliott, and he should be scooped up as a late-round handcuff in case Elliott goes down.

  • Posted: 12/30/2016 4:45pm ET

Updating a previous report, Dallas Cowboys RB Darren McFadden (illness) did not participate in practice Friday, Dec. 30, and is listed as questionable for Week 17.

Huddle Up: McFadden should be in uniform against the Philadelphia Eagles and is expected to receive significant playing time since Ezekiel Elliott probably will see limited touches. Owners in most leagues should consider McFadden as a flex option.

  • Posted: 12/30/2016 10:50am ET

Dallas Cowboys RB Darren McFadden (illness) is hopeful to play Week 17 against the Philadelphia Eagles despite dealing with an illness.

Huddle Up: McFadden is expected to receive the majority of the touches versus the Eagles since Dallas has nothing to play for this weekend, but his illness leaves the door open for Alfred Morris and Lance Dunbar to play a larger-than-anticipated role. It's shaping up as a situation DFS owners will want to avoid.

  • Posted: 12/26/2016 9:45pm ET

Dallas Cowboys RB Darren McFadden rushed a team-high 14 times for 49 yards in the Week 16 game against the Detroit Lions Monday, Dec. 26. He was targeted once but had zero receptions.

Huddle Up: McFadden was allowed to knock off some rust in the second half with the team resting Ezekiel Elliott, preserving their star rookie with home-field advantage already sewn up. McFadden could see extensive playing time in Week 17 if the team elects to rest their regulars.
