Minnesota Vikings WR Cordarrelle Patterson is improving as a receiver, according to QB Matt Cassell. 'I just think his route-running and his ability to recognize defense' Cassell said. 'I think that's huge for him, and any receiver, as you move forward.'

Huddle Up: The 2013 rookie recorded 24 of his 43 receptions, 273 of his 469 receiving yards and 3 of his 4 scoring catches in the final 6 games of last season, and all indications are that the momentum has carried over into the offseason. Expect him to be a hot WR3 commodity in drafts.

Minnesota Vikings WR Cordarrelle Patterson has impressed CB Captain Munnerlyn this offseason. 'The time we played them, he was nothing like he is now,'' Munnerlyn said. 'I told him, 'The time we played you, I'm glad we caught you early.' Because if we hadn't have caught him early, he was tearing people up at the end up the year. He's really growing as a receiver, and I'm seeing it with my own two eyes.'' Munnerlyn played for the Carolina Panthers last year.

Huddle Up: The platitudes continue to pour in for Patterson, to the point that he may actually be overhyped by the time fantasy draft day rolls around. Plenty of upside, but keep in mind the Vikings are still a run-first team and they still have question marks at quarterback.

Minnesota Vikings WR Greg Jennings said the team plans to showcase WR Cordarrelle Patterson this season. Jennings hinted that Patterson could overtake him as the No. 1 wide receiver for the team.

Huddle Up: Patterson flashed some of his talents last season but still proved to be raw as a receiver. This year he'll benefit from the previous year of experience as well as Jennings' mentoring, Norv Turner's offense and an upgrade at quarterback so things are definitely looking rosy for Patterson.

Minnesota Vikings general manager Rick Spielman said he believes WR Cordarrelle Patterson will thrive under offensive coordinator Norv Turner. Spielman said Turner has already installed 10 plays for Patterson in the offense.

Huddle Up: Turner has a nice track record of productive big receivers, a role the Vikings hope Patterson can develop into. The 10-play addition speaks to how excited Turner is to have such a weapon at his disposal; now the Vikings need to find a quarterback capable of getting him the ball downfield.

Minnesota Vikings WR Cordarrelle Patterson had an end-around and a season-high six targets and three catches in the team's Week 7 loss to the New York Giants on Monday, Oct. 21.

Huddle Up: Patterson leads the league with an average of 36.5 yards per kickoff return and with the Vikings struggling at 1-5, there's no reason why the rookie's speed shouldn't be worked into the offense more. Look for more targets and touches in the weeks to come.

The Minnesota Vikings plan to increase WR Cordarrelle Patterson's workload in the coming weeks. He has played just 11 snaps in the first two games.

Huddle Up: Patterson has been electric on kickoff returns but lightly used in the offense. With the Vikings at 0-2 and in need of a jolt, it makes sense to find ways to get the ball into Patterson's hands more frequently.

Minnesota Vikings WR Cordarrelle Patterson (back) was limited in practice Thursday, Sept. 5.

Huddle Up: Patterson, the team's first-round pick out of Tennessee, didn't crop up on the injury report earlier in the week, so see what the outlook is Friday.

Minnesota Vikings head coach Leslie Frazier said the team will continue to try to get the ball to WR Cordarrelle Patterson because he did well as a receiver in the first preseason game. 'We weren't sure how fast he'd come as a receiver. For him to do what he did tonight, that's going to help his confidence. I'm sure he'll go back and work even harder to be more of a complete receiver. That's exactly what you want out of a rookie playing wide receiver in our league. He's going to be hungry coming back and we've just got to keep feeding him to help him to continue to grow,' Frazier said.

Huddle Up: Patterson is still raw but he has loads of talent. The Vikings' passing game enters the year with some question marks but with an ADP of Round 13, Patterson offers a lot of value right now. He's worth a shot that far down in the draft given his physical skills and the lack of receiving options in Minnesota.

Minnesota Vikings WR Cordarrelle Patterson appears to be the team's fourth receiver right now.

Huddle Up: The guy Patterson will have to move in front of for playing time is Jerome Simpson, and to this point the rookie has been seeing mostly short quick patterns a la Percy Harvin. It's still early, but as it stands Patterson's first-year contribution looks to be limited--though if you include return yards he is slated for that duty.

The Minnesota Vikings signed first-round pick WR Cordarrelle Patterson to a 4-year deal on Thursday, July 25. Terms of the deal were not immediately released.

Huddle Up: The Vikes had a timely and busy Thursday, signing all 3 of their 1st-round picks the day before they kick off camp. The play-making Patterson, the 29th overall pick, is being counted on to be a home-run hitter after averaging 16.4 yards per catch and hauling in 29 TD passes in his 3 seasons in Tennessee.
