San Francisco 49ers WR Pierre Garcon has been building chemistry with QB Jimmy Garoppolo, according to head coach Kyle Shanahan. 'It's been a good process for them to get here, spend some time together,' Shanahan said.

Huddle Up: With Garoppolo leading the offense, Garcon should be a dependable WR3 this year, and he could sneak in WR2 territory in PPR formats.

  • Posted: 4/6/2018 8:04pm ET

San Francisco 49ers WR Pierre Garcon (neck) is expected to 'come back healthy' next season, according to head coach Kyle Shanahan.

Huddle Up: He was having a solid season prior to the injury, and with Jimmy Garoppolo now in the fold, Garcon should be a solid WR3.

  • Posted: 1/7/2018 8:14am ET

San Francisco 49ers WR Pierre Garcon (neck) should be ready for the start of the offseason workouts.

Huddle Up: Garcon was playing very well in 2017 before he suffered his season-ending injury. He should enter next season as the team's No. 1 receiver and has a chance to post good numbers if Jimmy Garoppolo returns. Owners in most leagues can consider him a low-end No. 2 or a No. 3 fantasy receiver.

  • Posted: 11/4/2017 1:36pm ET

San Francisco 49ers WR Pierre Garcon (neck) was officially placed on the Reserve/Injured list Saturday, Nov. 4. The team also activated DE Ronald Blair (hand) from the Reserve/Injured list.

Huddle Up: Marquise Goodwin and Aldrick Robinson should receive more targets with Garcon out for the season. Goodwin has performed well so far this season and could be a No. 3 fantasy receiver against favorable matchups. Robinson can be owned in deeper leagues but probably will not be in the starting lineup much.

  • Posted: 11/2/2017 5:33pm ET

San Francisco 49ers WR Pierre Garcon (neck) will be placed on injured reserve, according to general manager John Lynch. This will end Garcon's first season in San Francisco.

Huddle Up: Garcon was having a fine year with the 49ers, ending up with 40 catches for 500 yards in eight games, though he also had no touchdowns. Marquise Goodwin, Aldrick Robinson and Trent Taylor stand to benefit the most in his absence but given the woeful state of San Francisco's offense with rookie C.J. Beathard at quarterback, no wideout is worth pursuing on the 49ers.

  • Posted: 11/2/2017 4:40pm ET

San Francisco 49ers WR Pierre Garcon (neck) sat out practice for the second consecutive day Thursday, Nov. 2.

Huddle Up: Garcon barely played in the second half of last week's contest against the Eagles after injuring his neck, so his lack of practice time thus far suggests he's in real danger of missing Week 9. Even if he does suit up, he's not a strong option, as rookie C.J. Beathard has been very unimpressive since taking over as the starting quarterback.

  • Posted: 11/1/2017 3:44pm ET

San Francisco 49ers WR Pierre Garcon (neck) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Nov. 1.

Huddle Up: Garcon suffered the injury in Week 8, so owners will need to check on his status later in the week. He has been targeted at least eight times in four of the last six games but has been held to under 50 yards in each of the last two games. He can be a flex option in leagues this week if he plays.

  • Posted: 10/29/2017 7:39pm ET

Updating a previous report, San Francisco 49ers WR Pierre Garcon (neck) said Sunday, Oct. 29, that he expects to play in Week 9 against the Arizona Cardinals.

Huddle Up: Garcon checked out with a neck ailment, leaving Trent Taylor, Marquise Goodwin, Aldrick Robinson and Kendrick Bourne as the wideouts. Only Taylor managed to record any stats. Garcon is a solid WR4 in PPR fantasy formats when healthy.

  • Posted: 10/29/2017 12:35pm ET

San Francisco 49ers WR Pierre Garcon (neck) suffered a neck injury in Week 8 and is considered questionable to return.

Huddle Up: Owners will need to keep an eye on the situation to see if Garcon will miss any more time because of the injury. Garcon has been a solid fantasy option for owners and should be considered a No. 3 fantasy receiver if he is able to play in the next game.

  • Posted: 10/27/2017 1:38pm ET

San Francisco 49ers WR Pierre Garcon (non-injury) fully participated in practice Friday, Oct. 27, and is not on the injury report for Week 8.

Huddle Up: Garcon has received 30 targets over the last three weeks and will remain a focal point in the passing game moving forward. He will be facing a Philadelphia Eagles pass defense that has struggled at times this season and can be considered a No. 3 fantasy receiver.

  • Posted: 10/26/2017 4:57pm ET

San Francisco 49ers WR Pierre Garcon (non-injury) fully participated in practice Thursday, Oct. 26.

Huddle Up: Garcon appeared to have solid chemistry with C.J. Beathard and caught five of his seven targets. He will be facing a solid Philadelphia Eagles defense this week but can still be a No. 3 fantasy receiver in most fantasy leagues.

  • Posted: 10/25/2017 4:45pm ET

San Francisco 49ers WR Pierre Garcon (rest) did not practice Wednesday, Oct. 25, as he was given a veteran's day to rest.

Huddle Up: Garcon has managed at least four receptions in each of his past five outings, serving as a solid WR3 or flex fantasy option in PPR formats. He has slightly lesser value in standard leagues since he hasn't found the end zone yet.

  • Posted: 10/22/2017 7:20pm ET

San Francisco 49ers WR Pierre Garcon posted five grabs for 49 yards with seven targets in Week 7 against the Dallas Cowboys.

Huddle Up: Garcon hasn't found the end zone in seven outings this season, but he has three or more receptions in each of his games while posting 49 or more yards in each of the past three. He remains a useful WR4 in most PPR formats heading into Week 8 in Philadelphia.

  • Posted: 10/20/2017 3:39pm ET

San Francisco 49ers WR Pierre Garcon (non-injury related) practice in full Friday, Oct. 20, and is no longer on the injury report heading into Week 7 against the Dallas Cowboys.

Huddle Up: Garcon wasn't doing all that much with Brian Hoyer under center, now the team will be using the young C.J. Beathard. It doesn't bode well for the fantasy appeal of Garcon.

  • Posted: 10/19/2017 4:18pm ET

San Francisco 49ers WR Pierre Garcon (non-injury) fully participated in practice Thursday, Oct. 19.

Huddle Up: Garcon will be working with a new starting quarterback this week but should continue to have a big role in the passing game. He has been targeted at least 10 times in four of the six games this season and can be considered a No. 3 receiver in most leagues.

  • Posted: 10/18/2017 4:25pm ET

San Francisco 49ers WR Pierre Garcon (non-injury related) did not practice Wednesday, Oct. 18.

Huddle Up: It was likely a day off for the 49ers' veteran wide receiver. The quarterback change from Brian Hoyer to C.J. Beathard is somewhat worrisome for Garcon since Hoyer targeted him so frequently, but Garcon remains far and away San Francisco's best passing threat. Don't take him out of the WR2 conversation.

  • Posted: 10/15/2017 6:33pm ET

San Francisco 49ers WR Pierre Garcon caught five of his 12 targets for 55 yards in a 26-24 loss to the Washington Redskins in Week 6.

Huddle Up: Garcon didn't do a whole lot despite a season-high 12 targets, and the move to C.J. Beathard at quarterback may have played a role. The good news is he remained the go-to target in the passing attack despite the quarterback change. Consider him a WR3 candidate against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 7, especially in PPR formats.

  • Posted: 10/13/2017 3:55pm ET

San Francisco 49ers WR Pierre Garcon (non-injury) fully participated in practice Friday, Oct. 13, and is not on the injury report for Week 6.

Huddle Up: Garcon has been a solid fantasy option for owners this season and will be facing a banged-up Washington Redskins secondary this week. He can be a solid No. 3 receiver for owners this week.

  • Posted: 10/12/2017 4:34pm ET

San Francisco 49ers WR Pierre Garcon (non-injury) fully participated in practice Thursday, Oct. 12.

Huddle Up: Garcon has been targeted at least eight times in four of the five games this season and recorded 94 yards last week. He is the team's top receiver and can be considered a No. 3 fantasy receiver in Week 6.

  • Posted: 10/11/2017 4:47pm ET

San Francisco 49ers WR Pierre Garcon (non-injury related) was rested for practice Wednesday, Oct. 11.

Huddle Up: Garcon was getting the veteran's mid-week rest, but you can expect he'll be ready for a crack against his former team, the Washington Redskins, in Week 6.

  • Posted: 10/8/2017 7:48pm ET

San Francisco 49ers WR Pierre Garcon racked up eight receptions for 94 yards with 11 targets in Week 5 against the Indianapolis Colts, his original team.

Huddle Up: An odd trend is developing for Garcon. In even-numbered weeks, he is averaging 3.5 catches per game while averaging 31.0 receiving yards. In odd-numbered weeks, he is averaging 7.0 catches per game with 105.7 yards per game. Unfortunately for fantasy owners, if the trend continues, he'll struggle in Week 6 on the road against his another one of his former teams, the Redskins.

  • Posted: 10/1/2017 8:27pm ET

San Francisco 49ers WR Pierre Garcon posted four catches for 36 yards on eight targets in Week 4 against the Arizona Cardinals.

Huddle Up: Garcon exploded for seven grabs and 142 yards last week against the Rams, but took a giant step back. He was had to fight with Trent Taylor and Aldrick Robinson for the eye of Brian Hoyer in this one. Garcon remains nothing more than a low-end WR4 in deeper fantasy leagues heading into Week 5 against the Colts on the road.

  • Posted: 9/21/2017 9:05pm ET

San Francisco 49ers WR Pierre Garcon finished with seven catches on 10 targets for a game-high 142 yards in a 41-39 loss to the Los Angeles Rams in Week 3.

Huddle Up: Garcon continues to be Brian Hoyer's go-to option, and he has piled up 25 targets and 249 yards in three games. He should be safe to deploy as a WR3 going forward, especially in PPR formats.

  • Posted: 9/17/2017 9:05pm ET

San Francisco 49ers WR Pierre Garcon finished with three catches for 26 yards in a 12-9 loss to the Seattle Seahawks in Week 2.

Huddle Up: Garcon actually led the team in receiving for the second week in a row, and he is the closest thing San Francisco has to a dependable option in the passing game. He is a matchup-dependent play, but he has WR3 potential against the Rams in Week 3, especially in PPR formats.

  • Posted: 9/10/2017 7:49pm ET

San Francisco 49ers WR Pierre Garcon posted six grabs with game-highs of 81 yards and 10 targets in Week 1 against Carolina.

Huddle Up: Garcon had a pretty nice rapport with Brian Hoyer, serving as the most effective connection on the team. They'll look to build on the momentum in Week 2, but the 49ers face a tough road matchup against the Seahawks.

  • Posted: 8/27/2017 7:18pm ET

San Francisco 49ers WR Pierre Garcon finished with six catches on seven targets for 64 yards against the Minnesota Vikings in the preseason Sunday, Aug. 27.

Huddle Up: Garcon is the top option in the San Francisco passing attack, so he should plenty of targets all season long. Don't sleep on Garcon as a volume-based WR3, especially in PPR formats.
