New Orleans Saints WR Willie Snead threw a 50-yard touchdown pass to RB Tim Hightower in a 49-21 win over the Los Angeles Rams.

Huddle Up: Snead caught five passes for 38 yards, so if it hadn't been for that razzle-dazzle touchdown pass Snead would have had a bad day. Don't count on this play happening too much more, but Snead is ordinarily a decent threat for fantasy points. Snead is one of Drew Brees' many targets, so his numbers may go up and down.

New Orleans Saints RB Tim Hightower finished with 12 carries for 69 yards and eight catches for 57 yards in a 23-20 loss to the Carolina Panthers Thursday, Nov. 17.

Huddle Up: Hightower had the backfield to himself after Mark Ingram left with a possible concussion. If Ingram is forced to miss more time, Hightower would immediately become a RB2 in all formats.

  • Posted: 11/6/2016 10:16pm ET

New Orleans Saints RB Tim Hightower rushed 23 times for 87 yards with a touchdown in the Week 9 game against the San Francisco 49ers. He added one catch for 15 yards.

Huddle Up: Hightower was busy for a second straight game, as Mark Ingram was punished for a Week 8 fumble. However, Ingram bounced back in a big way and is likely to take back over as the primary ball carrier in Week 10 against the Denver Broncos despite Hightower's decent line. Hightower is still worth using as a flex fantasy option going forward.

New Orleans Saints RB Tim Hightower said his biggest hurdle last year was being on the same page as QB Drew Brees in pass protection, but he added he is a lot more comfortable this year.

Huddle Up: Hightower has likely earned a bigger workload after topping 100 yards in Week 8, but it remains to be seen how he will be utilized. Still, he is worth a look as a flex option in Week 9 against San Francisco's porous run defense.

New Orleans Saints RB Tim Hightower will be given a chance to stay heavily involved in the offense after erupting for 102 rushing yards against Seattle Seahawks in a Week 8 win, according to ESPN's Mike Triplett.

Huddle Up: Triplett cautions Mark Ingram had done too much over the past three years to earn the trust of head coach Sean Payton to become a mere observer, so expect a bit of a timeshare for the foreseeable future. This week, both backs are legitimate RB2 options against the San Francisco 49ers' league-worst rush defense.

New Orleans Saints RB Tim Hightower took advantage of the benching of RB Mark Ingram in Week 8 game against the Seattle Seahawks, rushing 26 times for 102 yards. Ingram was punished for an early fumble and he never returned.

Huddle Up: Hightower is worth scooping up in all fantasy leagues heading into Week 9, as the Saints face the 49ers in Santa Clara. San Francisco has the worst rushing defense in the NFL.

New Orleans Saints RB Tim Hightower is the best bet to serve as the primary backup for RB Mark Ingram, according to beat writer Nick Underhill.

Huddle Up: Hightower's skill set most closely matches that of Ingram, so it makes sense to have him serve as the top backup. The team can't exactly bank on CJ Spiller to be healthy and available in that role, and even if he is the Saints would likely use him in different ways as opposed to between the tackles running.

New Orleans Saints RB Mark Ingram is the lead running back for the Saints, while RB Tim Hightower appears to be the backup, according to Larry Holder of The New Orleans Times-Picayune. RB C.J. Spiller holds the No. 3 spot.

Huddle Up: Hightower, who last year saw his first regular-season work since 2011, is the true Ingram handcuff for now as Spiller -- if used more -- fills more of the Darren Sproles, third-down role. Some insiders also like the chances of seventh-round rookie Daniel Lasco to challenge Hightower for the No. 2 gig.

Free-agent RB Tim Hightower (Saints) has agreed to initial terms on a contract with the New Orleans Saints, according to a source.

Huddle Up: The soon-to-be 30-year-old back totaled 504 yards and four scores in his first NFL action since 2011 and once again will be the main pure-RB backup to Mark Ingram this season.

  • Posted: 4/1/2016 9:32pm ET

Free-agent RB Tim Hightower (Saints) will meet with the New Orleans Saints in the coming week.

Huddle Up: The 29-year-old Hightower had a decent end-of-the-season run, rushing for 327 of his 375 yards in the final four games of the season following Mark Ingram's shoulder injury. With receiving specialists C.J. Spiller and Travaris Cadet the other prominent names on the N.O. RB depth chart, Hightower might once again fill the Ingram-handcuff role if the two side can reach an agreement.
