San Francisco 49ers WR A.J. Jenkins was on the field for 37 offensive snaps during the regular season and 10 snaps in the postseason. He had one drop and did not have a catch.

Huddle Up: Definitely a lost rookie season for the first-round selection, but the opportunity will certainly be there for Jenkins this summer as the Niners have a big gap to plug at the No. 2 WR slot opposite Michael Crabtree.

San Francisco 49ers WR A.J. Jenkins was inconsistent during organized team activities (OTAs) and minicamp. Jenkins needs to work on building up his upper-body strength in order to hold up against aggressive press cornerbacks at the pro level, according to sources.

Huddle Up: Jenkins already was drafted by a team that throws less than most and is firmly behind Michael Crabtree, Vernon Davis and Randy Moss in the pecking order on a good day. He has potential value in a dynasty league for future seasons but his rookie year looks like a complete non-factor so far.

San Francisco 49ers WR A.J. Jenkins did not play with the first- or second-team offense Tuesday, June 12, in practice, and he did not catch a pass in scrimmages Wednesday, June 13. Jenkins reportedly had difficulty staying on his feet for all three days of minicamp, and it was non-contact workouts.

Huddle Up: Jenkins was viewed by many as a stretch in the first round, and with the likes of Michael Crabtree, Maio Manningham, and Randy Moss fighting for playing time it may be tough for the rookie to have an impact in his first NFL season.
