Detroit Lions QB Matthew Stafford completed 15-of-23 pass attempts for 101 yards, no touchdowns and no interceptions in Week 14 against the Arizona Cardinals.

Huddle Up: Stafford entered the game questionable with a back injury and he certainly didn't look right in this one. He has managed just one passing score over the past three outings and is a risky fantasy play for the rest of the season.

  • Posted: 12/9/2018 6:33am ET

Detroit Lions QB Matthew Stafford (back) is expected to play in Week 14's game against the Arizona Cardinals, according to a source.

Huddle Up: Stafford had been listed as questionable on the injury report after being a limited participant in all three of the team's practice sessions during the week. He should be viewed as a low-end QB1 in most fantasy formats.

  • Posted: 12/7/2018 3:49pm ET

Detroit Lions QB Matthew Stafford (back) was limited during practice Friday, Dec. 7, and is listed as questionable for Week 14.

Huddle Up: Stafford should have a solid chance to play this week, but his status will be known once the inactive list is posted. He has thrown two touchdowns and three interceptions over the last three games and has gone five games without a 300-yard performance. He can be a low-end No. 1 quarterback in some leagues this week but could also be benched if other options are available.

  • Posted: 12/6/2018 1:24pm ET

Detroit Lions QB Matthew Stafford (back) was limited in practice Thursday, Dec. 6.

Huddle Up: Stafford has been battered and bruised throughout his career, so this is nothing new. He's a risky start versus a stingy Arizona Cardinals pass defense, though, especially with the fantasy postseason on the line.

  • Posted: 12/5/2018 3:03pm ET

Detroit Lions WR Matthew Stafford (back) was listed as a limited participant in practice on Wednesday, Dec. 5.

Huddle Up: Stafford is likely to be ready for Sunday's game, but check back on Friday for his official injury designation before finalizing your plans for Week 14.

  • Posted: 12/2/2018 4:41pm ET

Detroit Lions QB Matthew Stafford completed 20-of-33 passes for 245 yards, one touchdown and one interception in Week 13 against the Los Angeles Rams.

Huddle Up: Stafford was under pressure all day from the sturdy Rams defense and they were able to drop him for four sacks. He has devolved into more of a QB2 in most fantasy leagues heading into Week 14 against the Arizona Cardinals.

  • Posted: 11/22/2018 1:33pm ET

Detroit Lions QB Matthew Stafford went 28-for-38 for 236 yards, zero touchdowns and two interceptions against the Chicago Bears in Week 12.

Huddle Up: Stafford has been held without a touchdown in two of the last four games and has recorded four interceptions during that span. He will be facing the Los Angeles Rams next week and may only be a low-end No. 1 quarterback in deeper leagues.

  • Posted: 11/18/2018 2:14pm ET

Detroit Lions QB Matthew Stafford completed 23-of-37 passes for 220 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions in the Week 11 win against the Carolina Panthers.

Huddle Up: Stafford continues to rebuild rapport with Kenny Golladay, as the two hooked up for eight grabs, 113 yards and a touchdown on 14 targets. The quarterback has been a borderline low-end QB1 or QB2 in most fantasy leagues of 14 or more teams this season. Next up for Stafford and the Lions will be a date with the Chicago Bears on Thanksgiving Day.

  • Posted: 11/17/2018 7:55pm ET

Detroit Lions QB Matthew Stafford faces the Carolina Panthers in Week 11, and the Panthers have allowed the second-most touchdown passes in the NFL.

Huddle Up: Stafford has had some issues with turnovers this year, but he has also thrown multiple touchdowns in seven of his nine games. He could be a solid streaming option against Carolina.

  • Posted: 11/13/2018 10:14am ET

Detroit Lions QB Matthew Stafford's performance this season is a matter of 'Detroit Lions information,' offensive coordinator Jim Bob Cooter said Tuesday, Nov. 13.

Huddle Up: Things are getting testy in Motown with the Lions having dropped three straight double-digit decisions and much of the blame centers on the offense. Stafford has thrown for at least 275 yards and multiple TDs in only one game since Week 4 and ranks 21st at the position with 21.01 fantasy points per game. Stay away aside from two-quarterback leagues.

  • Posted: 11/11/2018 2:06pm ET

Detroit Lions WR Matthew Stafford completed 25-of-42 passes for 274 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions in the Week 10 loss against the Chicago Bears.

Huddle Up: The Lions have won just three of their nine contests this season, but that doesn't mean Stafford has been disappointing. He has two or more touchdown strikes in seven of the past eight outings while throwing for at least 262 yards on six occasions. Stafford remains a solid low-end QB1 in most fantasy leagues heading into Week 11 against a Carolina Panthers pass defense which was shredded by Ben Roethlisberger and the Pittsburgh Steelers on Thursday night.

  • Posted: 11/4/2018 1:13pm ET

Detroit Lions QB Matthew Stafford completed 25-of-36 passes for just 199 yards, no touchdowns and no interceptions in the Week 9 loss against the Minnesota Vikings and he added four runs for 11 yards.

Huddle Up: Stafford lost a weapon this week, as the team dealt Golden Tate, although plenty of talent remains. he entered the game with six straight games passing for at least two TDs, but he was blanked in the touchdown category for the first time since Oct. 29, 2017 against the Pittsburgh Steelers. It won't get any easier for Stafford as the team travels to play the Chicago Bears in Week 10.

  • Posted: 11/3/2018 5:36pm ET

Detroit Lions QB Matthew Stafford (finger) has been wearing a glove to help protect the injured pinky on his left hand. He hurt the finger last week but did not appear on the injury report this week.

Huddle Up: The injury isn't on his throwing hand and the fact that he wasn't even listed on the injury report ostensibly makes this a non-issue. Consider him a borderline starting quarterback versus the Minnesota Vikings in Week 9.

  • Posted: 10/28/2018 5:37pm ET

Detroit Lions QB Matthew Stafford completed 27-of-40 passes for 310 yards, two touchdowns and one interception in the Week 8 loss against the Seattle Seahawks.

Huddle Up: The 310 yards were Stafford's most since Week 2 against the San Francisco 49ers, and they were his most yards in four home games. He'll look to keep it cooking in Week 9 on the road against the Minnesota Vikings.

  • Posted: 10/21/2018 6:09pm ET

Detroit Lions QB Matthew Stafford completed 18 of his 22 pass attempts for 217 yards and two touchdowns in a 32-21 win over the Miami Dolphins in Week 7.

Huddle Up: Since a horrible performance in the opener, Stafford has tossed multiple touchdowns in five straight games and has just one interception in that span. His yardage is down a btt thanks to an improved rushing attack, but he's still a solid QB2.

  • Posted: 9/30/2018 2:29pm ET

Detroit Lions QB Matthew Stafford went 24-for-30 for 307 yards and two touchdowns against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 4.

Huddle Up: Stafford has played well since his awful Week 1 performance and has seven touchdowns in the last three weeks. He will be facing a solid Green Bay Packers defense next week but can be a low-end No. 1 quarterback in some deeper leagues.

  • Posted: 9/24/2018 12:57am ET

Detroit Lions QB Matthew Stafford went 27-of-36 for 262 yards and two touchdowns to go along with one interception in Week 3 against the New England Patriots.

Huddle Up: Stafford took a bit of a backseat to the rushing attack in this one, as Detroit piled up 159 yards on the ground. And despite the fact that he completed 75 percent of his passes, he overshot Marvin Jones on a potential touchdown and threw a bad interception early in the second half. Nevertheless, his last two games have got a long way in removing the stench of his Week 1 stinker. He'll be a low-end fantasy QB1 in Week 4, however, as the Dallas Cowboys have played good pass defense so far this season.

  • Posted: 9/14/2018 1:59pm ET

Detroit Lions QB Matthew Stafford (shin) practiced in full for a third consecutive day Friday, Sept. 14 and he was removed from the practice report ahead of the Week 2 game against the San Francisco 49ers.

Huddle Up: Stafford is ready to roll after taking a kick to the shin with a cleat in the Monday nighter against the Jets. He should jack it up frequently against the Niners, especially if LeGarrette Blount isn't available in the ground game. Staff remains a solid low-end QB1 in most fantasy formats, but hopefully he'll curb his interceptions this week after tossing four in the opener.

  • Posted: 9/13/2018 4:02pm ET

Detroit Lions QB Matthew Stafford (shin) fully participated in practice Thursday, Sept. 13.

Huddle Up: Stafford is coming off a disastrous Week 1 performance but should be back on the field this week. He could be a low-end No. 1 quarterback in deeper leagues but can also be benched if owners have better options.

  • Posted: 9/12/2018 2:45pm ET

Detroit Lions QB Matthew Stafford (shin) took part in a full practice session on Wednesday, Sept. 12.

Huddle Up: Stafford gutted it out on Monday night in a loss against the Jets, taking a kick with cleats to the knee and shin area, while also having his bell rung on a hard hit. It appears he'll be able to play in Week 2, and he is a solid low-end QB1 in leagues of 12 or more teams when healthy.

  • Posted: 9/11/2018 10:22am ET

New York Jets LB Darron Lee said Tuesday, Sept. 11, that the defense decoded the signals of Detroit Lions QB Matthew Stafford and knew what plays were coming, helping lead to five total interceptions (four off Stafford) in a 48-17 road win Monday, Sept. 10. 'We were calling out their plays as he was getting up to the line,' Lee said. 'We knew his signals. We knew everything. That's just preparation as a defense. ... It seemed like we were in his head as a defense.'

Huddle Up: Well, it seems the Jets put their offseason film study to good use, and there's at least a plausible excuse for Stafford's first four-interception game since 2013. Keep Stafford in your lineup if he's your best QB option, and count on the Lions having a whole new set of signals Week 2 against the San Francisco 49ers.

  • Posted: 9/10/2018 8:17pm ET

Detroit Lions QB Matthew Stafford completed 27-of-46 passes for 286 yards, one touchdown and four interceptions in the Week 1 game against the New York Jets on Monday, Sept. 10.

Huddle Up: Stafford was battered and bruised, although he wasn't officially sacked. He did get cleated in the left knee once, and crumpled in pain after another hard hit. Matt Cassel finished up the blowout loss. Stafford and the Lions will look to bounce back in Week 2 on the road against the San Francisco 49ers.

  • Posted: 9/10/2018 6:32pm ET

Updating a previous report, Detroit Lions QB Matthew Stafford (undisclosed) checked back into the game in the middle of the third quarter of the Week 1 game against the New York Jets on Monday, Sept. 10.

Huddle Up: Stafford ended up missing just one play, as Matt Cassel threw an incompletion. However, on the second play since returning, Stafford tossed his fourth interception of the game. Ouch.

  • Posted: 9/10/2018 6:01pm ET

Detroit Lions QB Matthew Stafford (undisclosed) left the Week 1 game against the New York Jets due to an undisclosed injury after a hard hit.

Huddle Up: Stafford suffered a knee injury at the end of the first half and he was gimpy, now he might have a head injury or some sort of other ailment. Matt Cassel replaced him. More info when we know it.

  • Posted: 12/24/2017 4:13pm ET

Detroit Lions QB Matthew Stafford completed 19 of his 35 pass attempts for 203 yards, one touchdown and one interception in Week 16 against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Huddle Up: Stafford's team was eliminated from the playoffs with the disappointing performance, and Stafford likely eliminated a lot of his fantasy owners with this egg laying as well.

  • Posted: 12/16/2017 5:27pm ET

Detroit Lions QB Matthew Stafford threw 25-for-33 for 237 yards and two touchdowns in his team's 20-10 Week 15 win over the Chicago Bears.

Huddle Up: The Lions have to hope Stafford stays healthy, as they are riding his arm to a potential playoff berth. He only missed on eight attempts Saturday, so precision doesn't appear to be too much of an issue. Stafford remains a strong QB1 heading into next week.

  • Posted: 12/14/2017 12:09pm ET

Detroit Lions QB Matthew Stafford (hand) fully participated in practice Thursday, Dec. 14, and is not on the injury report for Week 15.

Huddle Up: Stafford has thrown for at least 250 yards in seven of the last eight games but has four touchdowns and four interceptions over the last three games. He will be facing a solid Chicago Bears pass defense but could still be a low-end No. 1 quarterback in deeper leagues.

  • Posted: 12/13/2017 2:44pm ET

Detroit Lions QB Matthew Stafford (hand) participated fully in practice Wednesday, Dec. 13.

Huddle Up: Stafford toughed it out last week after banging up his throwing hand the week prior, so he'll be good to go after another week of recovery and practice. The Chicago Bears have defended the pass well this year, but Stafford remains a viable QB1.

  • Posted: 12/12/2017 3:00pm ET

Detroit Lions QB Matthew Stafford (hand) was a full practice participant Tuesday, Dec. 12.

Huddle Up: Stafford shook off a banged up hand last week and came through for fantasy owners. He should be fine with another week of recovery behind him but faces a tough test in the Chicago Bears, who have been one of the best pass defenses in the league this year. Still, Stafford is in the QB1 conversation for Week 15.
