ESPN reports the Kansas City Chiefs have released WR Amani Toomer.
The Huddle Take: Toomer caught two passes for 29 yards this preseason. It looks like Dwayne Bowe and Mark Bradley will be the Nos. 1 and 2 receivers for the Chiefs, with Terrance Copper, Bobby Engram, Taurus Johnson and Ashley Lelie likely rounding out the receiving corps.

ESPN.com reports the Kansas City Chiefs have signed free-agent WR Amani Toomer to a one-year deal, according to a source. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The Huddle Take: Toomer could be in position to battle Mark Bradley for the No. 2 spot, and will definitely be a candidate, along with Bobby Engram, for the No. 3 slot. His Fantasy impact should be relatively minor, but if he does become the No. 2 WR he'll earn enough respect from opposing defenses that Dwayne Bowe could see more passes thrown his way.

The New York Daily News reports the Giants will not re-sign impending free-agent WR Amani Toomer. According to a person familiar with the team's thinking, the Giants grew tired of Toomer a couple of years ago, when they started questioning his dedication and attitude.
The Huddle Take: Because really, of all the prima donna receivers out there Toomer is the worst; nobody screams "bad attitude" more than Toomer. Or maybe the Daily News has their Giants receivers mixed up. Now if you're saying the Giants are ready to get younger at wide receiver or have other options they'd prefer to get more reps, then you're making sense.
