Huddle Up: Ballard can't seem to catch a break. He tore his ACL in the first game last season and now will likely miss all of 2014 with the Achilles' tendon injury. Trent Richardson and Ahmad Bradshaw remain in the Colts' backfield committee.

Huddle Up: Ballard was a solid option for the Colts prior to his knee injury; now he'll have to battle Trent Richardson and Ahmad Bradshaw for looks in Indy's suddenly crowded backfield.

Huddle Up: So long as Ballard qualifies as a tight end in your fantasy league's scoring system, it's a move we can get behind. Anybody have old footage of Rod Bernstine?

Huddle Up: The Colts are apparently banking on Ballard being a part of their backfield picture, along with Trent Richardson. Tough to trust him fantasy-wise if we aren't able to see him on the field, so a training camp--or earlier--return would be welcome news.

Huddle Up: Ballard's injury frees up Ahmad Bradshaw for more carries, with Donald Brown as the backup. Look for Indy to hit the waiver wire to add backfield depth, as neither Bradshaw nor Brown are renown for their durability.

Huddle Up: This hasn't sounded like anything that will keep Ballard from playing or starting Sunday, but it could lead to more touches for No. 2 back Ahmad Bradshaw, who had eight in Week 1.
