Tennessee Titans RB Bishop Sankey suffered a stinger in Week 12 and did not suffer a concussion, according to head coach Ken Whisenhunt.

Huddle Up: Good news for Sankey, who struggled through a 10-carry, 37-yard outing Sunday in Philly. Monitor his status in practice this week.

Tennessee Titans RB Bishop Sankey currently ranks fifth among rookie running backs this year with 360 yards,. Still, he's averaging 3.9 yards per carry, and he has just one carry longer than 20 yards in 92 chances. He had 38 yards on his first nine carries in Week 10 against the Baltimore Ravens, but produced just 20 yards on his final eight carries. Head coach Ken Whisenhunt said the offensive line needs to do a better job of opening up holes for the rookie running back. The team is choosing to use RB Leon Washington in third down situations. "I think Bishop will still get a chance to protect and to catch passes on first and second down,' Whisenhunt said. 'But one of the things you try to be consistent with is the protection and working together with those things on third down."

Huddle Up: The opportunity as been there for Sankey with 13 or more touches in his last four games, but his high rushing water mark is 61 yards this season and he still only has one TD. He's belongs on keeper and dynasty-league rosters but he just hasn't produced enough to be used in most 10- or 12-team leagues.

Tennessee Titans RB Bishop Sankey carried 43 times for 152 yards, a 3.5-yard average, when RB Shonn Greene (hamstring) was inactive for two games and limited to two snaps in a third outing. In games Sankey shared the load with Greene, the rookie Sankey averaged 4.7 yards per carry.

Huddle Up: Sankey is still the Titans primary back even with Greene healthy again. Sankey is a flex play this week against the Titans.

Tennessee Titans RB Bishop Sankey is ready for a bigger role in the offense should RB Shonn Greene (hamstring) be unable to suit up in Week 6 against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Huddle Up: Sankey is going to get the majority of work at RB for the Titans against Jacksonville. He's a strong flex play option.

Tennessee Titans RB Bishop Sankey is likely to see more work in Week 5 against the Cleveland Browns than he has in his first four games, head coach Ken Whisenhunt said on his radio show Tuesday on 104.5 FM The Zone. In the last two weeks, Sankey has been on the field for 22 and 29 snaps, the highest totals of any Titans running back. Whisenhunt again noted that Sankey's footwork has improved.

Huddle Up: Sankey's fantasy-point production has increased each of the last 3 games, while Shoon Greene has seen his rushing yards decease steadily since his 15-71 outing in the season opener. Based on the matchup, the rookie may not consistently put up strong fantasy numbers on a week-to-week basis, but he at least figures to be given the touches and opportunity to do so going forward.

Tennessee Titans RB Bishop Sankey was on the field for a season-high 27 snaps in Week 3, and head coach Ken Whisenhunt said Sankey's play will dictate his future snap totals. 'He's got good vision, and he looks to have good movement skills,' Whisenhunt said. 'What I didn't like is attention to detail with him. If he can get the attention to detail better, his reps will increase.'

Huddle Up: Sankey and starter Shonn Greene each got 10 carries in Sunday's loss to the Bengals, and it was the rookie who had the better numbers, finishing with 61 rushing yards to Greene's 33, even though the veteran got the short rushing TD. Definitely expect more from Sankey going forward as he picks up the nuances of the pro game.

Tennessee Titans RB Bishop Sankey's footwork is still an issue of concern to head coach Ken Whisenhunt, despite Sankey's 10-carry, 60-yard performance in Week 3.

Huddle Up: Don't say you weren't warned; NFL coaches feel some sort of attachment to sluggish veteran running backs and find reasons to keep their more talented rookie understudies off the field--like, say, "footwork". Eventually Sankey's talent will be too much for Whisenhunt and Shonn Greene to keep off the field, but you have to be patient and let Whisenhunt come to that realization himself.

Tennessee Titans RB Bishop Sankey, who has had fumbling issues due to poor footwork before the hand-off, was better in that regard in the third preseason game over the weekend. Sankey had 16 carries for 44 yards in the game.

Huddle Up: Sankey has been playing primarily with backups this preseason as he works on mastering the little things such as footwork, pass protection, and ball security. Once he has a better grasp of those, his talent should elevate him above Shonn Greene in the competition for carries in Tennessee.

Tennessee Titans RB Bishop Sankey earned praise from head coach Ken Whisenhunt for his quick cuts and willingness to lower his shoulder during practice Tuesday, July 29. Whisenhunt also said that Sankey was drafted in part because he is a good fit for the offensive system.

Huddle Up: Sankey, the first RB selected in May's draft, continues to look like the best fantasy RB bet in Tennessee with veteran Shonn Greene slow rounding into camp form coming off a pair of knee procedures in the last year.

Tennessee Titans rookie RB Bishop Sankey recently said he's in great shape and is reviewing plays every day with running backs coach Sylvester Croom. Sankey believes he can have a big impact once he gets plays down and used to his teammates

Huddle Up: Sankey, the first RB selected in this year's draft, is a hot fantasy commodity entering summer drafts, and is ranked by The Huddle as a solid RB2. If you covet him, be prepared to use a fourth- or fifth-round draft pick.
