The South Florida SunSentinel, reports Gary Wichard, agent for Miami Dolphins DE Jason Taylor, said Taylor told him he wanted to sign with the Dolphins regardless of what they were offering. 'Jason told me, 'Tell the Dolphins whatever fits their budget, I'm ready to play,'' Wichard said. 'There were no negotiations. It was always going to be Miami.'
The Huddle Take: Good news for the Dolphins as Taylor will join his former team and likely finish out his career with the team he started with. After leaving for only one year while playing with Washington, Taylor could once again aid a Miami defensive unit that played well in 2008 and should be upgraded from that with the addition of Taylor.

The Boston Herald, reports Miami Dolphins head coach Tony Sparano said the team will revisit the possibility of signing unrestricted free-agent DE Jason Taylor (Redskins) now that the draft is over. 'Yeah, we're talking. When I say 'we,' it's myself, [general manager Jeff Ireland] and [executive vice president of football operations Bill Parcells] have talked about Jason and had several conversations about it. We'll revisit it now that the draft is over and we're getting ready to look down the road at OTAs here pretty soon, so we'll revisit it again and see where we are,' Sparano said.
The Huddle Take: There appears little question that Taylor wants to return to the Dolphins to finish out his NFL career. With the Patriots also in the mix it appears unlikely that Miami will take the chance of letting Taylor fall into the hands of division rival New England for the next season or two.

Shalise Manza Young, of The Providence Journal, reports free-agent DL Jason Taylor is expected to make a decision on his future by the end of May and signs point to him signing with the New England Patriots. The Patriots drafted only one linebacker in the 2009 NFL Draft and there are some that believe Taylor and New England already have a handshake agreement in place. Patriots head coach Bill Belichick has also allowed veterans to stay at home until training camp begins at the end of July in the past, giving them a playbook and telling them to stay in shape until camp begins. Patriots owner Robert Kraft has already said this offseason that Taylor can become a Patriot if that's what he wants.
The Huddle Take: Taylor will need to check out Boston-area dance studios before making his final decision. He's be a good fit for the Patriots, but after last season Taylor may have to settle for an incentive-laden contract. You know, one that rewards him for attending workouts and such. Oh, wait... never mind.

ESPN, reports free-agent DE Jason Taylor (Redskins) will probably sign with either the New England Patriots or Miami Dolphins.
The Huddle Take: It still appears that Taylor will likely land with the Dolphins when all is said and done. He can still be a worthy addition to Miami's young defense as they look to build for the future at least for the short-term.

The Palm Beach Post, reports unrestricted free-agent DE Jason Taylor (Redskins) said it would be hard to sign with the New York Jets because of his ties with the Miami Dolphins but would consider it if he did not have other options.
The Huddle Take: It certainly sounds like the Dolphins are the place where Taylor would like to finish his storied NFL career. He has had some interest from rival teams like the New York Jets and New England Patriots in recent weeks but still remains unsigned to date. With the NFL draft approaching it will be interesting to watch to see if the Dolphins spend another high draft pick on a defensive end or if they look to solidify other positions and bring Taylor back for at least one more season. It is hard to imagine Miami not giving Taylor another chance to join the team very soon.

The South Florida SunSentinel, reports Miami Dolphins LB Channing Crowder said unrestricted free-agent DE Jason Taylor (Redskins) wants to return to the Dolphins.
The Huddle Take: It would only be fitting that Taylor finish out an illustrious NFL career with the team that he played most of it for. Despite his injury problems last season, expect Taylor to be a force for whatever unit he plays on for until he decides to hang up his cleats for good. It would likely best serve the Dolphins to bring Taylor back as it has been rumored that the Patriots are also interested in his services this year.

The Palm Beach Post reports free-agent DL Jason Taylor said Sunday, March 29, that he would be open to talk about any offers that will allow him to continue his NFL career next season. "When the right situation comes up, I'd be ready to go," Taylor said. Taylor did not rule out the possibility of returning to the Miami Dolphins if the team is interested.
The Huddle Take: Evidently an $8.5 million, one-year deal that came shackled with a $500,000 workout bonus wasn't the right situation. Does anyone else think Taylor's right situation involves someplace close to movie studios or at least plenty of space to waltz, tango, and cha-cha-cha?
Posted: 3/11/2009 11:57pm et
The Boston Globe, reports the New England Patriots could be a destination for unrestricted free-agent DE Jason Taylor (Redskins) because of their need for a pass rusher and an opening at outside linebacker.
The Huddle Take: This would certainly be a tough pill to swallow for the Dolphins if indeed Taylor becomes part of the arch-rival Patriots only one season after his exit from Miami. Look for Taylor to have a new look on life in the NFL as he looks to finish out a stellar Pro football career in the next few years.
Posted: 3/3/2009 1:13am et
ESPN reports the Washington Redskins have released DE Jason Taylor.
The Huddle Take: The Skins were reportedly willing to pay Taylor his $8 million salary if Taylor agreed to a workout clause that required him to show up for a little more than half of the scheduled offseason sessions. Apparently Taylor couldn't squeeze the workouts in between tango lessons.
Posted: 1/27/2009 11:54pm et
The Washington Post, reports Washington Redskins DE Jason Taylor is expected to be approached by the Redskins about returning to the team at a lesser salary, according to a source.
The Huddle Take: It would not be surprising to see this happen to the veteran defensive player in light of his injury marred 2008 campaign. There is no doubting his ability and talent but it is clear the best years of his NFL career are likely behind him.
