SportsTicker reports Baltimore Ravens WR Derrick Mason (shoulder) suffered a left shoulder injury against the Dallas Cowboys during Week 16. He left the game during the first quarter but was able to return to the game during the second quarter.
The Huddle Take: Mason has been nursing injuries most of the season and this was a definite concern for the Ravens as they position themselves for the playoffs. Since Mason returned to action in the game, it appears that the injury was not as severe as thought and will likely not keep the talented veteran wideout off the field in Week 17.

The Baltimore Sun reports Baltimore Ravens WR Derrick Mason (shoulder) missed the team's practice Thursday, Dec. 4, but will start in Week 14. Mason said the cold weather has caused his shoulder to ache, but it should not be a concern. He has not missed a game since 2002.
The Huddle Take: Mason won't let a little achy shoulder keep him out against Washington. He had 91 yards and a touchdown against the Bengals last week.

The Baltimore Sun reports Baltimore Ravens WR Derrick Mason (shoulder) did not participate in practice Thursday, Nov. 13. He is considered questionable for the team's Week 11 game. If he is not able to play, WR Yamon Figurs will take his place.
The Huddle Take: Mason did suck it up and go back into the game after hurting his shoulder last Sunday, indicating he'd be able to play against the Giants.

The Baltimore Sun reports Baltimore Ravens WR Derrick Mason (shoulder) attended meetings and received treatment on his dislocated shoulder Monday, Nov. 10. 'He's sore, but he's OK,' head coach John Harbaugh said.
The Huddle Take: Mason was able to gut it out and play Sunday after the injury, so there's no reason to believe he won't do the same this week against the Giants.

The Baltimore Sun reports Baltimore Ravens WR Derrick Mason (shoulder) is considered questionable for the team's Week 11 game, but head coach John Harbaugh hopes to have him available. 'I'm hopeful. I would say we expect him to play but we can't say for sure,' Harbaugh said. If he is not able to play, WR Yamon Figurs would take his place.
The Huddle Take: With the Baltimore offense showing a few signs of creative life, Mason has gained a little more value in the past few weeks. The injury obviously limits that, but it is still uncertain as to his status this week. Late week reports will be key to many an owner's last minute lineup choices.

NFL.com reports Baltimore Ravens WR Derrick Mason (shoulder) left the team's Week 10 game after suffering a dislocated shoulder but was able to return to the game in the second half and caught three receptions as well as a two-point conversion.
The Huddle Take: The long-time veteran Derrick Mason continues to play at a high level despite working with a rookie quarterback and battling injuries this year. The Ravens typically don't post big numbers for fantasy teams so don't rate Mason higher than a No. 3 receiver in any fantasy league format for 2008.
Posted: 8/28/2008 7:19pm et
Baltimore Ravens WR Derrick Mason has already developed a good rapport with rookie QB Joe Flacco. Mason could become Flacco's go-to receiver if Flacco is able to emerge as the team's starting quarterback.
The Huddle Take: The Ravens' go-to receiver this year has as much value in the 2008 fantasy football season as the go-to receiver of the 1957 Detroit Lions. That is to say, none. If Baltimore's offense somehow surprises and isn't totally putrid, Mason and any other Raven pass catcher should be readily available on your league's free agent list.

BaltimoreRavens.com reports that Ravens WR Derrick Mason was shaken up in the first half of the team's morning practice Thursday, Aug. 14, and did not return. He limped off the field with the help of trainers, who wrapped and iced his knee.
The Huddle Take: Mason also sat out the afternoon practice, putting his availability for the Ravens' exhibition game against the Vikings on Saturday in question. The veteran wideout is already pushed down the fantasy rankings thanks to questions about his team's quarterback play; a bad wheel won't help the situation.
