New England Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski confirmed a report that he was nearly traded to the Detroit Lions, but he wouldn't have reported there or anywhere else. That nixed the deal. 'Yeah it happened,' Gronkowski said. 'Brady's my quarterback.'

Huddle Up: Gronk is starting to lose ground after being in a tier of his own for the last few years in fantasy. He's still a great TE1, but the sputtering offense has drifted him to the pack a bit.

  • Posted: 9/24/2018 12:35am ET

New England Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski caught four of his five targets for 51 yards in Week 3 versus the Detroit Lions.

Huddle Up: Detroit sold out to stop him in critical situations throughout, including using the kind of jam at the line usually reserved for gunners on punt coverage on at least one play late in the game. Owners probably aren't going to be overly thrilled with six catches and 66 scoreless yards combined over the last two weeks, but life is going to get better as soon as defenses have to start accounting for Josh Gordon and Julian Edelman. Gronkowski remains an elite TE1 play in fantasy in Week 4 against the Miami Dolphins.

  • Posted: 9/21/2018 1:22pm ET

New England Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski (ankle) was able to practice in full Friday, Sept. 21 and he has been removed from the injury report ahead of the Week 3 game with the Detroit Lions.

Huddle Up: Gronkowski is fine to play for fantasy owners, and he'll be looking to bounce back against old friend Matt Patricia after laying an egg in Week 2 against the Jaguars.

  • Posted: 9/21/2018 9:42am ET

New England Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski (ankle) practiced Friday, Sept. 21, and was moving well on his sore ankle.

Huddle Up: No concerns for Gronk, who could be in for a bounce-back week after a poor Week 2 (2 catches-15 yards) against the Jaguars.

  • Posted: 9/21/2018 5:02am ET

New England Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski (ankle) isn't believed to have a concerning ankle injury.

Huddle Up: He'll be fine for Week 3, and he'll face a midrange Detroit Lions defense against the position. He's a top-tier TE1 in fantasy.

  • Posted: 9/20/2018 1:53pm ET

New England Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski (ankle) was limited during practice Thursday, Sept. 20.

Huddle Up: Gronkowski was added to the injury report Thursday, so the severity of his injury is not known at this point. He should be considered a No. 1 tight end in all leagues as long as he is healthy enough to play.

  • Posted: 9/17/2018 12:03am ET

New England Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski was targeted only four times in Week 2 versus the Jacksonville Jaguars, posting two catches for 15 yards.

Huddle Up: The highly anticipated showdown between Gronkowski and Jalen Ramsey predictably rarely ever happened. Jacksonville is one of the few teams with the athleticism at linebacker and safety to challenge the four-time All-Pro, so a slow day at the office isn't a shock. Expect Gronkowski to bounce back in a big way versus the Detroit Lions in Week 3.

  • Posted: 9/9/2018 6:39pm ET

New England Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski rolled up seven receptions, 123 yards and a touchdown on eight targets in Week 1 against the Houston Texans.

Huddle Up: Gronk isn't quite ready to cede his No. 1 fantasy status just yet. As long as he can stay healthy, something that has been hard to do in recent seasons, then he is the top dog among tight ends as long as Tom Brady is also healthy. People keep expecting these guys to drop off, but they just keep on rolling. Next week is a challenge against a hungry Jacksonville Jaguars defense in their place.

  • Posted: 8/24/2018 4:20pm ET

New England Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski is expected to play in the preseason game Friday, Aug. 24.

Huddle Up: Gronkowski usually does not play in the preseason, so he probably will not see a lot of playing time this week. Gronkowski has been the top fantasy tight end for years and should be again this season as long as he can stay healthy.

  • Posted: 7/17/2018 6:38am ET

New England Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski is expected to report to the facility on time by July 25, according to a source.

Huddle Up: Gronk is hoping to get a new deal, but the elite TE1 looks to be status quo for the season.

  • Posted: 7/4/2018 5:05pm ET

New England Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski said he feels 'refreshed' and 'super ready' for the upcoming season.

Huddle Up: He is still the best tight end in the game and in fantasy when healthy, but between the constant injuries and the drama off the field, the risk is higher than ever. You should probably wait until the third round before pulling the trigger.

  • Posted: 6/11/2018 9:06am ET

New England Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski likely will receive a new contract at some point but no deal is imminent at this time, according to a source.

Huddle Up: Gronkowski participated in the mandatory minicamp last week and probably will sign a new contract before the start of training camp. He is the best tight end in the NFL when he is healthy and will be an early-round pick in all fantasy drafts.

  • Posted: 5/21/2018 10:39am ET

The New England Patriots are working on restructuring TE Rob Gronkowski's contract. The team is not allowed to agree on a reworked deal with Gronkowski until Thursday, May 24, if it includes incentives.

Huddle Up: The Patriots and Gronkowski should be able to agree to a restructured contract at some point this offseason. Gronkowski is one of the top performers in fantasy football when he is healthy and will be the first tight end selected in drafts.

  • Posted: 5/21/2018 9:04am ET

New England Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski's participation in organized team activities is uncertain at this point because of his contract situation, but he will be present for the mandatory June minicamp, according to a source.

Huddle Up: Gronkowski indicated he will play in 2018, but he does not need to be with the team until minicamp. He is the top tight end when healthy and will be an early-round pick in all fantasy leagues.

  • Posted: 5/7/2018 11:49am ET

New England Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski's agent has been talking with the Patriots about reworking Gronkowski's contract, according to sources.

Huddle Up: Gronkowski has been the top tight end in the NFL over the last several seasons and should continue to a big part of the passing game. He should be the first tight end selected in drafts and likely will be taken in one of the first three rounds.

  • Posted: 4/24/2018 3:32pm ET

New England Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski announced Tuesday, April 24, that he will be playing in 2018, as expected.

Huddle Up: Not a big surprise, but there have been reports throughout the offseason that Gronk could retire. Since he is returning, he should be regarded as the No. 1 fantasy tight end, per usual.

  • Posted: 4/21/2018 10:31am ET

New England Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski indicated that he does not plan to participate in the upcoming voluntary workouts.

Huddle Up: Gronkowski still has not announced if he will play in 2018, but he probably will be on the field next season. He is one of the best fantasy options when he is healthy and likely will be selected in the first three rounds of all fantasy leagues.

  • Posted: 4/9/2018 7:53am ET

New England Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski is around 260 pounds, according to a source, which is about five pounds lighter than his playing weight. He's expected to re-gain the weight before camp. Gronkowski has been working with QB Tom Brady's trainer, Alex Guerrero, which stirred the pot with head coach Bill Belichick. At one point early last season, Belichick chastised Gronkowski in front of the players for working with Guerrero, according to a source.

Huddle Up: The friction with Belichick is starting to leak out, and it somewhat explains Gronk's hesitance with playing next year. His physical condition adds traction that he will be back, though. He'll be a high-end TE1 in fantasy.

  • Posted: 4/4/2018 5:02am ET

Updating previous reports, New England Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski hasn't been involved in trade talks, and the Patriots expect to keep him.

Huddle Up: Gronk remains a high-end TE1, but his laundry list of injuries add enough risk to consider some others that are closing the gap.

  • Posted: 4/3/2018 7:05am ET

New England Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski will have teams calling about acquiring him, according to MMQB's Albert Breer.

Huddle Up: It's probably more likely that Gronk stays in New England, but the wear-and-tear scare is harvesting around his fantasy stock. He's still a high-end option, but the gap is closing between him and the field.

  • Posted: 3/31/2018 8:47pm ET

New England Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski is leaning towards playing next season, according to sources close to Gronkowski.

Huddle Up: Gronkowski is still an elite fantasy tight end when he is on the field, but the injury concerns aren't going away. The upside is undeniable, but make sure not to reach for him on draft day.

  • Posted: 3/30/2018 8:41am ET

New England Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski's odds of being traded are increasing, a source friendly with head coach Bill Belichick told the Boston Sports Journal's Greg A. Bedard. '(Belichick) imagines you gone,' the source said. 'The longer Gronkowski goes without saying he's all in, the chances of him being traded increases.'

Huddle Up: Gronk hasn't played 16 games since 2011, but most seasons he doesn't have to. The number of injuries is mounting on his soon-to-be 29-year-old body. The tight end position has blossomed enough that, it really isn't a 'Gronk or bust' spot anymore. He'll be a high-end TE1 regardless, but one has to wonder if the risk is worth the reward.

  • Posted: 3/5/2018 9:14am ET

New England Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski still has not decided if he will retire or if he will play in 2018, according to sources.

Huddle Up: Owners should continue to monitor the situation because Gronkowski is one of the best tight ends in the NFL. He would be an early-round pick in fantasy drafts if he decides to play next season.

  • Posted: 2/28/2018 11:27am ET

New England Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski is expected to return for the 2018 season after pondering retirement and other opportunities, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Huddle Up: Gronkowski is the best tight end in the NFL when he's in good health. With Tom Brady also returning, Gronk once again deserves to be the first tight end taken in fantasy drafts despite the injury risks.

  • Posted: 2/17/2018 6:37pm ET

New England Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski had been thinking about retirement 'long before' the loss in Super Bowl LII, according to Jeff Darlington of ESPN.com.

Huddle Up: This is potentially bad news for anyone hoping Gronkowski was just having an emotional response to the Super Bowl loss. His future remains up in the air at this point, but he would remain the top fantasy tight end if he does play in 2018. The uncertainty could make him a buy-low candidate in dynasty leagues.

  • Posted: 2/8/2018 8:53pm ET

New England Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski's thoughts about retirement ever since the club's loss in Super Bowl 52 on Sunday, Feb. 4, against the Philadelphia Eagles are 'real,' according to Albert Breer of SI.com. Gronkowski has been responsible with his finances, putting away most of his football money and living largely off his endorsement cash, and he's taken an 'absolute beating' physically.

Huddle Up: While many would be shocked to see Gronk leave the game while still in his prime, he certainly wouldn't be the first superstar-caliber player to opt for retirement at such a golden point in his career, with Calvin Johnson and Patrick Willis being two recent examples. He has plenty of time to think about it, though, with the offseason only just getting started. The 28-year-old would remain the league's No. 1 tight end if he decides to keep playing.

  • Posted: 2/4/2018 8:43pm ET

New England Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski said he is going to take a look at his future, following a 41-33 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LII. 'I'm going to sit down the next couple of weeks, see where I'm at,' Gronkowski said.

Huddle Up: The sting of a tough loss could have played a role in his comments, but it is a situation worth monitoring in the coming weeks. Gronkowski has dealt with a variety of injuries over his career, but when he's on the field, he's the top tight end in the game.

  • Posted: 2/4/2018 8:00pm ET

New England Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski caught nine passes on 15 targets for 116 yards and two touchdowns in a 41-33 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LII.

Huddle Up: A dominant performance from Gronkowski wasn't enough for the Patriots. Injuries are always a concern for fantasy owners, but his upside is unmatched at the tight end position.

  • Posted: 2/2/2018 1:22pm ET

New England Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski (concussion) fully participated in practice Friday, Feb. 2, and has been removed from the injury report for Super Bowl LII.

Huddle Up: Gronkowski should receive his normal workload against the Philadelphia Eagles after clearing the concussion protocol. Gronkowski should be a No. 1 fantasy tight end in all leagues next season despite his injury history.

  • Posted: 2/1/2018 2:29pm ET

New England Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski (concussion) fully participated in practice Thursday, Feb. 1.

Huddle Up: Gronkowski will play in Super Bowl LII after going through the concussion protocol. He should be considered a No. 1 fantasy tight end whenever he is on the field.

  • Posted: 2/1/2018 1:11pm ET

New England Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski (concussion) has cleared the concussion protocol and will be able to play in Super Bowl LII.

Huddle Up: Gronkowski should be a main part of the passing game against the Philadelphia Eagles as long as he does not suffer a setback. Gronkowski will be a No. 1 tight end in all fantasy leagues in 2018 and could be the first tight end taken in drafts.

  • Posted: 1/31/2018 2:16pm ET

Updating previous reports, New England Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski (concussion) is still in the concussion protocol and has not been cleared to play at this point, according to head coach Bill Belichick.

Huddle Up: Gronkowski still have a few days to be cleared by doctors, so he still has a good chance to play in Super Bowl LII. He is one of the top tight ends in fantasy leagues despite his injury history and will be a must-start option in leagues next season.

  • Posted: 1/31/2018 1:42pm ET

New England Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski (concussion) was a limited practice participant Wednesday, Jan. 31.

Huddle Up: Gronkowski is expected to be good to go for the Super Bowl when he is cleared from the concussion protocol. He has had two weeks to recover from said concussion and should return as an integral part of the Patriots offense. As for 2018, he's the No. 1 fantasy tight end assuming he is fully healthy.

  • Posted: 1/31/2018 5:14am ET

Updating previous reports, New England Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski (concussion) is hoping to be cleared from the concussion protocol Wednesday, Jan. 31. He re-iterated he will play in the Super Bowl.

Huddle Up: Gronk is the best tight end left in playoff pools, but Zach Ertz isn't too far behind to select at a reduced salary in DFS. Gronkowski is expected to see a lot of attention from the Philadelphia Eagles' defense, and the injury risk could make Ertz an attractive play.

  • Posted: 1/29/2018 12:14pm ET

New England Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski (concussion) is expected to clear the concussion protocol in time to play in the SuperBowl, according to Jeff Howe of the Boston Herald.

Huddle Up: Gronk has had nearly two weeks to recover from the concussion he sustained in the AFC Championship. It would be a surprise if he had to sit out unless he suffers a setback. He remains the No. 1 fantasy tight end heading into the offseason.

  • Posted: 1/29/2018 5:12am ET

New England Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski (concussion) remains in the concussion protocol Monday, Jan. 29, and he's not expected to take part in media sessions for the opening night of the Super Bowl.

Huddle Up: He's still expected to be ready to face the Philadelphia Eagles in the Super Bowl and will be a TE1 whenever healthy.

  • Posted: 1/28/2018 12:00pm ET

Updating a previous report, New England Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski (concussion) remains in the concussion protocol even though he has been on the field the last two days. He said he is feeling good after practice.

Huddle Up: Gronkowski should be cleared at some point leading up to Super Bowl LII as long as he does not suffer a setback. He should be considered a No. 1 fantasy tight end whenever he plays.

  • Posted: 1/28/2018 9:36am ET

New England Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski (concussion) is participating in practice Sunday, Jan. 28.

Huddle Up: Gronkowski appears to be on track to play in Super Bowl LII but needs to be cleared by doctors before the game. He is one of the best tight ends in the NFL and should be a No. 1 tight end in all fantasy leagues in 2018.

  • Posted: 1/27/2018 2:24pm ET

Updating a previous report, New England Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski (concussion) is still in the concussion protocol even though he was on the practice field Saturday, Jan. 27.

Huddle Up: Gronkowski will need to be cleared by independent doctors before he is allowed to play. He likely will be the top receiver taken in fantasy drafts next season and should be a valuable player for owners.

  • Posted: 1/27/2018 9:30am ET

New England Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski (concussion) was present at the start of practice Saturday, Jan. 27, according to ESPN's Mike Reiss.

Huddle Up: There was no word on how active he was, but obviously this is the news fans and fantasy owners want to hear more than a week away from the Super Bowl. Stil, Gronkowski is likely to be listed as questionable on the injury report next week and remains in the concussion protocol for now. At this rate, he should be cleared to play sometime during the middle of next week.

  • Posted: 1/26/2018 1:42pm ET

Updating a previous report, New England Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski (concussion) did not participate in practice Friday, Jan. 26. He would have been ruled out if the team played a game this weekend.

Huddle Up: Gronkowski's availability for Super Bowl LII will be determined by his practice participation next week. He is a No. 1 fantasy tight end as long as he is healthy and should be an early-round pick in drafts next season.

  • Posted: 1/26/2018 9:53am ET

New England Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski (concussion) was absent from the media portion of practice Friday, Jan. 26.

Huddle Up: The belief is Gronkowski will play in the Super Bowl. In any lingering fantasy contests, he is an obvious starter if on the field. Long term, Gronk is a fantasy liability, due to injuries, as the top player at his position, though he's a fine risk-reward gamble.

  • Posted: 1/25/2018 5:24pm ET

New England Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski (concussion) appears to be on track to play in Super Bowl 52 on Sunday, Feb. 4, against the Philadelphia Eagles, as the 'overall feel' in the locker room is that he'll be in the lineup when the game kicks off, according to Dianna Russini of ESPN.com.

Huddle Up: While Gronkowski hasn't returned to practice yet since sustaining a concussion in the team's AFC Championship victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars last weekend, he still has more than enough time to pass protocol in order to ensure he'll be active on Super Bowl Sunday. Gronk had actually scored a touchdown in his previous six postseason contests before having to depart early in the last one, so look for him to log some notable stats opposite Philadelphia.

  • Posted: 1/25/2018 1:14pm ET

New England Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski (concussion) did not participate in practice Thursday, Jan. 25.

Huddle Up: The Patriots are optimistic that Gronkowski will be able to play in Super Bowl LII, but owners should monitor his status next week. He is one of the best tight ends in the NFL when he is healthy and should be one of the first tight ends selected in fantasy drafts next season.

  • Posted: 1/25/2018 10:11am ET

New England Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski (concussion) was not able to practice Thursday, Jan. 25.

Huddle Up: Luckily for Gronk he has an additional week to pass the NFL's concussion protocol. It's unlikely that he winds up missing the Super Bowl, but obviously his status will need to be monitored until next weekend. As for next season, Gronk should be the first tight end selected in fantasy drafts assuming he's at full health.

  • Posted: 1/24/2018 1:46pm ET

New England Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski (concussion) was listed as a non-participant in practice Wednesday, Jan. 24. The Patriots did not practice; Gronkowski's status is an estimation.

Huddle Up: Obviously there's plenty of time left for Gronk to pass the NFL's concussion protocol in time for the Super Bowl on Feb. 4. Looking ahead to next season, he should once again be the first fantasy tight end selected if he is fully healthy.

  • Posted: 1/23/2018 3:21pm ET

New England Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski's (concussion) official status will be unclear for a couple more days, but there is some optimism regarding his availability for the Super Bowl, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Huddle Up: Gronk has a couple of weeks to pass the concussion protocol as opposed to the usual one week or less. Obviously he's a vital part of New England's offense and will play a pivotal role in the Patriots' game plan if he is available. He's the best tight end in football when healthy and should be drafted as such next season.

  • Posted: 1/21/2018 6:14pm ET

Updating a previous report, New England Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski (concussion) has entered the league's mandated concussion protocol, but there is optimism he'll be ready to return for Super Bowl LII against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, Feb. 4.

Huddle Up: Gronk was clocked on a helmet-to-helmet hit in the first half of the AFC Championship Game and unable to return. He has two weeks to shake the cobwebs and get himself ready for the big game.

  • Posted: 1/21/2018 2:22pm ET

Updating previous reports, New England Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski (head) will not return to the AFC Championship game because of his head injury.

Huddle Up: Gronkowski may have suffered a concussion during the game, but owners should know more about his status after the games. He probably would be considered questionable if the team makes it to Super Bowl LII.

  • Posted: 1/21/2018 1:35pm ET

Updating a previous report, New England Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski (head) is considered questionable to return to the AFC Championship game because of a head injury.

Huddle Up: Gronkowski will not return to the game if he is diagnosed with a concussion, so owners will need to monitor the situation. He could return to the game if he is cleared by doctors.
