Huddle Up: There's still no indication if Gronk will return for a 10th season, but his strong postseason (19 targets-13 receptions-191 yards-0 TDs in three games) that followed one of his least productive regular seasons (72-47-682-3 in 13 games) just might've tipped the balance. Stay tuned ...
Posted: 2/4/2019 8:28am ET
Huddle Up: Gronk's 47-682-3 line made him a bust for the early pick invested on him, and it's clear he is declining. He'll be 30 next year and is still one of the better options at the position. However, injury risk and name value may inflate the price tag to draft him.

Huddle Up: It was already expected that Gronk wouldn't make any knee-jerk decisions immediately following the Super Bowl, but based on his comments we may have the answer to whether or not he'll suit up in 2019 by the time free agency starts early next month.
Posted: 2/3/2019 8:06pm ET
Huddle Up: His highlight came when he hauled in a pass in triple coverage that set up the game's only touchdown. Rumors have been swirling that he may decide to retire, so keep an eye on his status as the offseason unfolds.

Huddle Up: Gronk has been blocking like a man possessed in the playoffs, and even more important on the fantasy side, he drew a season-high 11 targets in the AFC Championship Game and finished with six catches for 79 yards. With the possibility that it might be Gronk's last game, don't be surprised if he's featured early and often Sunday.

Huddle Up: Gronkowski caught six passes for 79 yards in the AFC Championship Game but struggled during most of the second half of the season after being hampered by ankle and back injuries. He will be 30 years old by the time the 2019 season begins but can still be viewed as a solid TE1 option if he continues playing.
Posted: 1/29/2019 9:12am ET
Huddle Up: Gronkowski had had a run of un-Gronk-like games prior to catching 6-of-11 targets for 79 yards -- with many coming late in crunch time -- during the AFC title game, and if Super Bowl LIII does prove to be his final game as many have speculated, Gronk could bow out with a huge game in Atlanta.
Posted: 1/28/2019 6:19pm ET
Huddle Up: Gronkowski struggled during the second half of the season but played well in the AFC Championship game. Owners should monitor the situation during the offseason because he could still be a No. 1 fantasy tight end if he continues playing.
Posted: 1/25/2019 10:07am ET
Huddle Up: Gronk bounced back from weeks of uninspiring and unproductive play with six catches on 11 targets for 79 yards in the AFC title game, and if he can follow that up with a similar effort in Super Bowl LIII, it's likely the retirement chatter will be shelved for at least another year.
Posted: 1/21/2019 6:05pm ET
Huddle Up: Gronkowski has struggled at times during second half of the season but is coming off a solid performance against the Kansas City Chiefs. It is believed that he will consider retirement this offseason, so owners should monitor the situation. He could still be a No. 1 tight end in fantasy leagues if he plays.
Posted: 1/20/2019 8:06pm ET
Huddle Up: There have been rumblings that Gronkowski may hang it up after the season, but for now he has to prepare for another trip to the Super Bowl. He isn't the overwhelming force he was a few years ago, but he is still capable of putting up big numbers compared to a majority of the other tight ends in the league.
Posted: 1/20/2019 10:25am ET
Huddle Up: Gronk matched his career season low with three TD receptions, finished ninth among tight ends with 6.63 fantasy points per game and, most notably, didn't look close to being the Gronk of old -- especially late in the season. So even before age 30, Gronk's Hall of Fame career may be at the end.
Posted: 1/13/2019 2:54pm ET
Huddle Up: Gronkowski has had a disappointing season and has been held to three receptions or less in eight of the last nine games. He can still be considered a low-end No. 1 tight end in playoff fantasy leagues, but owners should not expect a big performance.
Posted: 1/13/2019 6:44am ET
Huddle Up: Gronkowski, who turns 30 in May, had his worst statistical performance since his rookie year during the 2018 campaign. In 13 games, he caught 47 passes for 682 yards while reaching the end zone just three times. That being said, he can still be viewed as a low-end TE1 in playoff fantasy contests.
Posted: 12/30/2018 2:06pm ET
Huddle Up: Gronkowski has been held to under 30 yards in four of the last five games and has been targeted only eight times over the last three weeks. He could be a low-end No. 1 tight end in playoff fantasy leagues but is not a must-start option like in the past.
Posted: 12/23/2018 3:05pm ET
Huddle Up: The Patriots did not do much in the passing game this week, so Gronkowski was held off the stat sheet. He should have more success next week against the New York Jets and can still be a No. 1 fantasy tight end.
Posted: 12/20/2018 3:30pm ET
Huddle Up: It might be concerning that Gronk was a late addition to the injury report after not being on it on Wednesday, but he should be fine for Sunday regardless. With Josh Gordon no longer in the picture, the nine-year veteran figures to see an uptick in targets and can make his usual impact on fantasy championship matchups.
Posted: 12/16/2018 7:54pm ET
Huddle Up: Gronkowski had a Gronk-like game last week with eight grabs for 107 yards and a score in Miami, but those kind of days have been few and far between for various reasons. His body has taken a beating over the years and he is a shell of his former self this season. Still, he remains a TE1 in most fantasy formats, but his production can be rather erratic.
Posted: 12/9/2018 1:34pm ET
Huddle Up: Gronkowski found the end zone for only the third time this season and posted only his second 100-yard game. He should be a No. 1 tight end in all leagues next week against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Posted: 12/6/2018 1:43pm ET
Huddle Up: Gronkowski is one of the top tight ends in the NFL when he is healthy and should be a starting option inn all leagues this week.
Posted: 12/5/2018 3:06pm ET
Huddle Up: Gronkowski likely will be limited during all of the practices this week but should be fine to play against the Miami Dolphins. He should be a starting option in all leagues.
Posted: 12/2/2018 7:56pm ET
Huddle Up: Gronk has been a shell of his former self this season. His back has been a problem and it might be an issue which never really gets better. He remains a must-start fantasy option when healthy, but he is no longer close to being the top option at his position. The Patriots travel to meet the Dolphins in Week 14.
Posted: 11/30/2018 1:10pm ET
Huddle Up: Gronkowski is one of the best tight ends in the NFL when he is healthy and has been targeted at least seven times in four of the last five games. He should be a starting option in all leagues this week.
Posted: 11/29/2018 1:40pm ET
Huddle Up: Gronkowski has been dealing with these injuries for several weeks but has been able to play. He can be considered a No. 1 tight end in all fantasy leagues this week.
Posted: 11/25/2018 6:59pm ET
Huddle Up: Gronkowski has been a bit off this season, slowed by a good chunk of the campaign by a wonky back. However, when he is healthy he is still a solid low-end TE1 in most fantasy leagues. The Patriots host the Vikings in Week 13.
Posted: 11/23/2018 10:53am ET
Huddle Up: Due to injuries and underwhelming performances, Gronk has been a deep fantasy disappointment this season, but the old "if-he's-starting-you're-starting-him" rule once again applies this week.
Posted: 11/22/2018 11:51am ET
Huddle Up: Gronkowski is believed to have a good chance to play this week, but owners will need to monitor the situation to see if anything changes. He is one of the top tight ends when he is healthy and can be a No. 1 tight end if he is active.
Posted: 11/21/2018 2:24pm ET
Huddle Up: All reports indicate Gronk is on track to return in Week 12 to face the New York Jets, but check back Friday when the official injury designations are revealed. We'll have a much better sense of where he is at then, although it's likely he'll be listed as questionable and it could be a touch and go thing all the way up until Sunday.
Posted: 11/18/2018 7:23am ET
Huddle Up: Gronkowski has missed three of his team's last four games due to a lingering back problem but is poised to return following New England's Week 11 bye. Through seven games this season, the 29-year-old has 29 receptions for 448 yards and only one touchdown but should still be considered as a starting option when healthy in all fantasy formats.
Posted: 11/10/2018 10:17pm ET
Huddle Up: Although Gronkowski is listed as questionable on the injury report, he is not expected to go. For what it's worth, he did not fly with the team to Chicago to face the Bears in Week 7 when his back spasms first flared up. The smart play for the Patriots is to use their Week 11 bye to give their tight end the better part of four weeks to get as healthy as possible. As such, owners should have another option ready Sunday, as it is extremely likely New England would limit his snaps even if he is active.
Posted: 11/10/2018 11:58am ET
Huddle Up: Owners can check out the inactive list to see if Gronkowski is playing, but the team probably will hold him out so he can have two more weeks to rest. Owners in all leagues should look for other options to use in their lineups.
Posted: 11/10/2018 9:38am ET
Huddle Up: Dwayne Allen likely will receive the start at tight end with Gronkowski sidelined but should be avoided in all fantasy leagues.
Posted: 11/10/2018 7:14am ET
Huddle Up: Gronkowski was a limited practice participant throughout the week and was listed as questionable on the injury report, though he appears to be in danger of missing his second consecutive game. The Patriots have a bye in Week 11, so the club may decide to deactivate him versus the Titans in the hopes of having him at 100 percent for Week 12's contest against the New York Jets. Dwayne Allen would get the starting nod if Gronk is unavailable but he should not be viewed as a viable option in any fantasy format.
Posted: 11/9/2018 1:38pm ET
Huddle Up: Gronkowski is a risky option for owners because the Patriots may consider holding him out this week with a bye coming up. Owners will need to check the inactive list for his official status, but he can be a starting option if he plays.
Posted: 11/8/2018 1:57pm ET
Huddle Up: Gronkowski was not able to play last week, so owners will need to keep an eye on the situation. He is a must-start option when he is healthy, but owners will need a backup plan ready in case he is ruled out again.
Posted: 11/7/2018 2:37pm ET
Huddle Up: Gronk missed last week's game against the Green Bay Packers, so be very careful with him leading up to Sunday. Check the official injury designation on Friday. He is likely to be questionable, so it is probably going to come down to a gameday decision when the inactives are announced 90 minutes before kickoff. When healthy he is an obvious must-start option.
Posted: 11/4/2018 7:29am ET
Huddle Up: Gronkowski was listed as questionable on the injury report and participated in two out of three practice sessions this week on a limited basis. He remains a must-start option in all formats when he is active, although he is having a down year statistically. Dwayne Allen would likely start if Gronkowski is ruled out but he is not a great fantasy option.
Posted: 11/2/2018 3:00pm ET
Huddle Up: Gronk was able to suck it up and play in Buffalo on Monday night, but he was just so-so. As long as he is active he is a must-start in fantasy, but he has taken a big step backwards this season.
Posted: 11/2/2018 9:22am ET
Huddle Up: Barring any weekend setbacks -- and Gronk owners all remember the Saturday announcement of his pending absence in Week 7 -- he will fill his usual TE1 role Sunday. Expectations, though, need to be lowered as Gronk has posted double-digit fantasy points (standard scoring) only once in seven games so far and that was back in Week 1.
Posted: 11/1/2018 1:46pm ET
Huddle Up: It is not known if Gronkowski is in any danger of missing the Week 9 game, so owners should continue to monitor the situation. He is a must-start option in all leagues when he is healthy.
Posted: 11/1/2018 10:15am ET
Huddle Up: It's not a good sign when a player goes from limited work -- as Gronk put in Wednesday -- to out of practice, but the Patriots are trickier to read than most teams. We'll have a better idea on Gronk's status Friday.
Posted: 10/31/2018 3:36pm ET
Huddle Up: Gronkowski has gone six straight games without a touchdown but has posted at least 75 yards in two of the last three games. He is still a No. 1 tight end all leagues, but owners probably would like to a breakout game from him.
Posted: 10/29/2018 9:08pm ET
Huddle Up: Gronk shook off back spasms to play in his hometown, but if not for a late tip-toe grab along the left sidelines it would have been a real dud. As it stands, it was a pretty mediocre showing for Gronkowski, who has looked like a shell of his former self this season. The Patriots host the Packers in Week 9.
Posted: 10/27/2018 1:04pm ET
Huddle Up: As mentioned earlier, Gronk has playing-time and statistical incentives in his contract, so he'll likely want to play as much as possible, and this game will be in his hometown against a team he has excelled against throughout his career. However, there is a chance he could be inactive and therefore he is a very risky fantasy play.
Posted: 10/27/2018 12:09pm ET
Huddle Up: Gronk was reportedly close to playing last week in Chicago before being ruled inactive. He likely wants to play on Monday against his hometown team, and he also has playing-time and statistical incentives in his contract that might also play a factor in his wanting to play. He is a risky fantasy play, however, as if he is inactive again, you won't have any attractive alternatives to swap him out with.
Posted: 10/26/2018 1:10pm ET
Huddle Up: Gronkowski was not able to play last week because of the injuries but appears to have a decent chance to play in Week 8. He will be a risky option because of his uncertain status but would be a No. 1 fantasy tight end if he is active.
Posted: 10/25/2018 9:56am ET
Huddle Up: Gronk's relatively quiet season got even quieter in Week 7 as he was a late-week scratch due to back injury. But there has been optimism that he'll return in Week 8, and Thursday's practice participation only adds to the optimism. The tricky part is that the Pats don't play until Monday night so fantasy GMs will need to stay attuned.
Posted: 10/24/2018 10:33am ET
Huddle Up: The Patriots aren't going to rush their start tight end back if it means aggravating his injury. If he continues to miss practice then have a contingency plan in place. If someone like C.J. Uzomah or Vance McDonald is available on waivers, they're worth a pickup.
Posted: 10/22/2018 11:12am ET
Huddle Up: The Patriots play on Monday night this week, so owners have to hope they get some clarity on the situation before Sunday. Backup Jacob Hollister missed Week 7 with a hamstring injury and Dwayne Allen did not contribute anything statistically in their absence, so owners probably aren't going to find their answer on the Patriots' roster if Gronkowski sits.
Posted: 10/21/2018 6:10am ET
Huddle Up: Gronkowski was able to participate in all three practice sessions during the week on a limited basis but his status was downgraded from questionable to doubtful Saturday, Oct. 20, before ultimately being downgraded again to out Sunday, Oct. 21. He did not travel with the team to Chicago but there is optimism that he will be able to play in Week 8's contest against the Buffalo Bills. Dwayne Allen is expected to start at tight end this afternoon but should not be considered as a viable fantasy option.
