Huddle Up: The Packers need a dependable option to support Davante Adams, and both Tate and Crowder would quickly become potential WR3 options if Aaron Rodgers is throwing them the ball.
-
Posted: 2/8/2019 11:10pm ET
Huddle Up: Of that group, Humphries might be the most interesting as both Tate and Beasley have reached their 30s and Cobb has taken a pounding over his eight NFL campaigns. Still, anyone signed into the New Orleans passing game would warrant your attention.
-

Huddle Up: Tate's production was modest during a 10-game stint with the Eagles, but he'd doubtless benefit from a full offseason in the system. Still, the veteran has become almost exclusively a possession receiver, restricting his value to point-per-reception leagues regardless of his destination for 2019.
-
Posted: 1/15/2019 9:24am ET
Huddle Up: It didn't exactly work out for Tate's fantasy owners, who saw the wideout catch only 30-of-44 targets for 278 yards and a TD in eight regular-season games with the Eagles. Tate added seven catches for 64 yards and a TD in two playoff contests, but there's little doubt his fantasy-WR stock will be down next summer.
-
Posted: 1/13/2019 5:03pm ET
Huddle Up: Tate was looking to get back to the Super Bowl with the Eagles, but he falls short. The 30-year-old still proved he has plenty left in the tank and he could be a nice PPR fantasy option in Philadelphia, or wherever he might land if he doesn't return to the Eagles.
-
Posted: 1/11/2019 3:02pm ET
Huddle Up: Tate was quiet during the final month of the regular season but was targeted eight times during the Wild Card playoff game and finished with 46 yards and one touchdown. He should have a solid role in the passing game this week and can be a flex option.
-
Posted: 1/10/2019 3:46pm ET
Huddle Up: Tate's eight targets last Sunday were his most in weeks, and while his line of five receptions for 46 yards was nothing spectacular, the former Notre Dame product did secure the game's most important grab with his late touchdown on fourth down. At the moment, he's mostly a WR3 for fantasy purposes, however.
-
Posted: 1/9/2019 1:14pm ET
Huddle Up: Tate should be able to go for this weekend's playoff game in New Orleans. He posted the game-winning grab against the Chicago Bears in last week's wild Wild Card game ride. Check back Friday for his official injury status, however, before proceeding in postseason fantasy leagues.
-
Posted: 1/6/2019 5:29pm ET
Huddle Up: Tate hauled in what turned out to be the game-winning touchdown, but he has topped 50 yards just once since joining the Eagles. He will be a touchdown-dependent flex play in any playoff contests.
-
Posted: 12/30/2018 8:10pm ET
Huddle Up: Tate might be a valuable option in short to intermediate routes against the strong defense of the Bears in the wild-card round. Fantasy owners in postseason leagues will want him as a WR4 or flex option.
-
Posted: 12/23/2018 2:14pm ET
Huddle Up: Tate had been jelling nicely with Carson Wentz in his first few weeks in Philly, but he has disappeared for fantasy owners since Nick Foles has taken over. The Eagles travel to meet the Redskins in Week 17.
-
Posted: 12/16/2018 9:30pm ET
Huddle Up: His five targets are tied for the second-most in six games as an Eagle, while his 43 yards are his third-most. Outside of his seven-catch, 85-yard, one-score performance in Week 13, Tate has not been very useful in fantasy nor has he been utilized nearly as much as he was while he was a member of the Detroit Lions. Although the Houston Texans' cornerbacks can be exploited, the slot is the one area they have defended well most of the season, meaning Tate isn't worth starting in fantasy in Week 16.
-
Posted: 12/3/2018 9:03pm ET
Huddle Up: Tate appears to be developing a nice little rapport with Carson Wentz and getting comfortable in the offense after arriving last month in a deadline deal from Detroit. He can be trusted again as a WR3 or flex play in PPR fantasy formats heading into Week 14 at Dallas.
-
Posted: 11/25/2018 5:42pm ET
Huddle Up: Tate still hasn't topped 50 receiving yards in three games since joining the Eagles, but if there is a silver lining, he did see eight targets for the second game in a row. Still, he is a risky flex option until he and Carson Wentz develop some chemistry.
-
Posted: 11/18/2018 6:48pm ET
Huddle Up: Tate led the team in catches, receiving yardage and targets, although most of his production came in the second half with the game well out of hand. Still, he is getting more familiar with Carson Wentz and the playbook and that's a good thing for Tate and his fantasy owners. Next up is a visit from the New York Giants in Week 12. Tate remains more of a low-end WR4 in most fantasy leagues for now.
-
Posted: 11/16/2018 8:28am ET
Huddle Up: Tate is a WR3 option against the New Orleans Saints, and they'll need him to have a shot at keeping up with them offensively.
-
Posted: 11/11/2018 8:52pm ET
Huddle Up: Tate didn't do much in his first game and he was out of the contest during crunch time, and the NBC telecast guessed his absence might be from lack of familiarity with the playbook and terminology, which makes sense. It might be a slow go for Tate and his fantasy owners in the next couple of games as he gets acclimated.
-
Posted: 10/30/2018 11:07am ET
Huddle Up: Tate's departure greatly increases the fantasy value of both Marvin Jones and Kenny Golladay. Both players are in WR2 territory going forward. T.J. Jones should also get more run, but he's merely a speculative add in deeper leagues.
-
Posted: 10/30/2018 10:50am ET
Huddle Up: Philly has been looking to upgrade its wideout corps, and having missed out on Demaryius Thomas, settled on Tate, a slot receiver who has led the Lions in targets and receptions for the last 2.5 seasons, including 69 and 44, respectively, this season. He'll pick back up as a flex/low-end WR2 play once he settles in with his new offense.
-
Posted: 10/28/2018 6:18pm ET
Huddle Up: Tate was limited in practice due to an ankle injury, but he made it through this one without any issue. Still, his production has been down lately and he should be treated as more of a low-end WR4 or flex fantasy option in leagues of 12 or more teams heading into Week 9 at Minnesota.
-
Posted: 10/26/2018 1:24pm ET
Huddle Up: Tate has only posted 78 yards over the last two games but has caught at least five passes in five of the six games this season. He should receive a solid amount of targets this week against the Seattle Seahawks and can be a No. 2 fantasy receiver.
-
Posted: 10/25/2018 2:35pm ET
Huddle Up: Tate has been quiet over the last two weeks but is still one of the main options in the Lions passing game. He can be considered a No. 2 receiver in most leagues this week.
-
Posted: 10/24/2018 2:23pm ET
Huddle Up: Tate will be fine as long as he avoids the dreaded setback. He hasn't produced much over the last two weeks, but he still resides in WR2 territory as a big part of one of the highest-flying offenses in the league.
-
Posted: 10/21/2018 6:28pm ET
Huddle Up: Tate salvaged his line a bit with the run, but he has still turned in back-to-back quiet games. Detroit's improved rushing attack is likely playing a role, and with the Lions facing a solid Seattle secondary in Week 8, you may want to downgrade Tate to a WR3.
-
Posted: 10/7/2018 7:07pm ET
Huddle Up: Tate saw his lowest totals in catches, targets and receiving yards, and Detroit's early lead was probably the main reason. He should be back on the WR1/WR2 border when the Lions return to action in Week 7.
-
Posted: 9/30/2018 2:45pm ET
Huddle Up: Tate was questionable for the game but was a big factor in the passing game despite his injury. He can be a solid No. 2 receiver for owners next week against the Green Bay Packers.
-
Posted: 9/30/2018 8:07am ET
Huddle Up: Tate has been the main option in the Lions passing game for the first three weeks of the season. He has been targeted 36 times and has posted 257 yards and one touchdown. Tate should be considered a No. 2 fantasy receiver in all leagues this week.
-
Posted: 9/28/2018 1:10pm ET
Huddle Up: It's a bit of a surprise and late addition to the injury report, so fantasy owners should have alternate plans just in case Tate cannot go. If Tate cannot play it would mean additional targets for Kenny Golladay and Marvin Jones.
-
Posted: 9/16/2018 11:26pm ET
Huddle Up: Tate has accumulated 14 catches on 28 targets through two games, which is great for his fantasy owners. The bad part is a 50 percent catch rate is not great for a player who spends so much time in the slot. Nevertheless, he should remain busy this season as Detroit figures to see plenty of negative game scripts. He'll be a solid WR2 play again in Week 3 versus the New England Patriots.
-
Posted: 9/10/2018 9:18pm ET
Huddle Up: Tate was very busy, and the Lions probably passed a little more than they would have liked since the game started getting out of hand in the second half and they had to abandon the run. It's a great start for Tate, who remains a solid low-end WR2 or must-start WR3 in all PPR formats. The Lions travel to meet the 49ers in Week 2.
-
Posted: 7/29/2018 6:20am ET
Huddle Up: The soon-to-be 30-year-old Tate has caught 90 passes or more in each of the last four seasons, eclipsing the 1,000 yard mark in three of those campaigns. He should be viewed as a low-end WR2 or high-end WR3, with added value in PPR fantasy formats.
-
Posted: 3/29/2018 7:39pm ET
Huddle Up: Tate is averaging more than 1,000 yards per season in four years in Detroit, catching at least 90 passes in every season. At worst, he's a strong WR3 in PPR formats.
