The Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports Dallas Cowboys QB Jon Kitna is content with his role as the team's backup quarterback. Kitna said, "I completely recognize that the best thing for this team is for me to never play a down this season. I know that and I'm perfectly OK with that."
The Huddle Take: Kitna makes for a nice insurance policy for Dallas this season and certainly provides the Cowboys with a solid option should Tony Romo miss any action with an injury. Fantasy owners should keep an eye on Romo's health and not be afraid to turn to Kitna if he lands in the starting lineup.

The NFL Network reports the Detroit Lions have traded QB Jon Kitna to the Dallas Cowboys. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The Oakland Press reports Detroit Lions head coach Jim Schwartz said he expects QB Jon Kitna to be around to participate in the team's offseason program. Schwartz also said no decision has been made on whether the team will pay Kitna's roster bonus.
The Huddle Take: Kitna had issues with being placed on IR last year, but most of those decision-makers have been replaced in the Lions' administration. We'll see if the fresh start is enough to entice Kitna to show up for workouts.
