Baltimore Ravens RB Bernard Pierce said he has been fully cleared following his rotator-cuff surgery in the offseason. Pierce also said he is down to 223 pounds.

Huddle Up: Good news for the Ravens as Pierce had best be ready with starter Ray Rice likely to start the season on suspension.

Baltimore Ravens RB Bernard Pierce said his surgically repaired rotator cuff is improving, and he will be ready for training camp. 'I'm grinding every day,' Pierce said.

Huddle Up: Pierce, who has 260 rushes for 968 yards in 2 seasons in Baltimore, will at least be counted on to reprise his No. 2 role and maybe more pending starter Ray Rice's current legal situation.

Baltimore Ravens RB Bernard Pierce (shoulder) had successful rotator cuff surgery Wednesday, Jan. 29, according to his agent.

Huddle Up: Pierce should be recovered in plenty of time for offseason activities, good news since the Ravens will be breaking in a new offensive coordinator.

Baltimore Ravens RB Bernard Pierce (shoulder) is expected to undergo surgery on his right shoulder to repair his rotator cuff.

Huddle Up: Both Pierce and Ray Rice battled injuries as they struggled this season. The key to returning both backs' stat lines to health will be improved offensive line play as well as Pierce and Rice bouncing back from their respective ailments.

Baltimore Ravens RB Bernard Pierce (leg) aggravated a leg injury in the Week 7 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, but he was not concerned after the game. 'It's a little banged up, but I'll be fine,' Pierce said Sunday, Oct. 20. 'I'll get through. It's been lingering on the side of my leg.'

Huddle Up: Keep an eye on his situation, but it looks like Ray Rice will have more time to himself in that backfield.

Baltimore Ravens RB Bernard Pierce (knee) has not yet been ruled out for the preseason game Thursday, Aug. 15, against the Atlanta Falcons. He suffered a sprained left knee in the preseason game Thursday, Aug. 8, against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but head coach John Harbaugh is not worried about the severity of the injury.

Huddle Up: It sounds like Ray Rice's valuable backup avoided a serious injury this time, but he's already developing a lengthy list of health issues for a back who's only entering his second season.

Baltimore Ravens RB Bernard Pierce (knee) could miss a few days because of a sprained left knee. An MRI on the knee did not show any structural damage.

Huddle Up: It's good news for Pierce who is an emerging force in the Ravens offense. Pierce is a serious threat to eat into Ray Rice's carries this season at a clip of 8-10 a game to start. If Rice were to go down, Pierce would become an every-week RB1 in all formats.
