Baltimore Ravens RB Bernard Pierce (thigh) was active in Week 4 against the Carolina Panthers, but he said Sunday, Sept. 28, that he did not play as a 'precaution.'

Huddle Up: Justin Forsett had a solid game and Lorenzo Taliaferro was serviceable in Pierce's absence. We'll see what the Ravens opt to do going forward, but Pierce was nothing special prior to his injury so there's no guarantee he returns to the starting gig.

Baltimore Ravens RB Bernard Pierce (thigh) fully participated in practice Friday, Sept. 26, and is listed as probable for Week 4.

Huddle Up: Pierce will return after a 1-week absence, but a potential 3-RB quagmire awaits fantasy owners in Baltimore with Justin Forsett, Lorenzo Taliaferro and Pierce all vying for carries in the Baltimore backfield.

Baltimore Ravens RB Bernard Pierce (quadriceps) is participating in practice Wednesday, Sept. 24. Pierce missed the team's Week 3 game because of the injury.

Huddle Up: This makes Pierce almost certain to return to action Sunday, but be prepared for a fantasy-unfriendly three-headed RBBC monster following rookie Lorenzo Taliaferro's breakout performance last week.

  • Posted: 9/19/2014 9:22pm ET

Baltimore Ravens RB Bernard Pierce (thigh) practiced in full despite being listed as questionable for Week 3 against the Cleveland Browns. Pierce should play in the game.

Huddle Up: Pierce is expected to play but might not be 100 percent. He's nothing more than a flex play this week if he's in the lineup, especially with Justin Forsett around to steal touches if Pierce isn't at full health.

Baltimore Ravens RB Bernard Pierce had 22 carries for 96 yards in the team's Week 2 game Thursday, Sept. 11.

Huddle Up: Pierce, benched for the second half in Week 1 after a second-quarter fumble, started Thursday night and finished with a game-high 23 touches for 103 total yards. That had to be a little disappointing for those who used a high waiver claim on Justin Forsett, who finished with 12 touches and 72 yards. This likely could be the Ravens' rotation going forward, though, with Pierce starting and Forsett spelling him as a change-of-pace back.

Baltimore Ravens RB Bernard Pierce has passed all aspects of the NFL concussion testing protocol and has practiced all week.

Huddle Up: Looks and sounds like Pierce is in line to start and get the most of the work Sunday against Cincy so plug him in as a RB2 or 3 if you need him.

Updating a previous report, Baltimore Ravens RB Bernard Pierce is dealing with a mild concussion, according to head coach John Harbaugh. Pierce was hurt in the first quarter of the team's preseason game against the Washington Redskins and did not practice Monday, Aug. 25. Pierce said via his Twitter account that he is feeling fine.

Huddle Up: Time is at least on Pierce's side as has an extra week to get ready for the games that matter, and the Ravens will need him given Ray Rice's season-opening 2-game suspension.

Baltimore Ravens RB Bernard Pierce (head) left the third preseason game early and is going through the concussion protocol.

Huddle Up: Pierce will now have two weeks to get cleared for the opener against Pittsburgh. If Pierce can't go against the Steelers, Justin Forsett and rookie Lorenzo Taliaferro would split the touches with Ray Rice suspended.

Baltimore Ravens RB Bernard Pierce has been the best running back in training camp, in the opinion of Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com. Pierce has had the best transition to Kubiak's stretch, zone blocking runs.

Huddle Up: Between the veteran Pierce, who ran for a TD in Thursday night's preseason opener, and rookie Lorenzo Taliaferro, who led the Ravens in rushing in the contest, Baltimore are well prepared to weather Ray Rice's season-opening 2-game suspension.

Updating previous reports, Baltimore Ravens RB Bernard Pierce left practice Saturday, July 26, because of an illness.

Huddle Up: Repeating, it's an illness, not any sort of injury, for the RB who for now is slated to be the Ravens' starter the first 2 weeks of the season.

  • Posted: 7/22/2014 6:56pm ET

Baltimore Ravens RB Bernard Pierce said he has been fully cleared following his rotator-cuff surgery in the offseason. Pierce also said he is down to 223 pounds.

Huddle Up: Good news for the Ravens as Pierce had best be ready with starter Ray Rice likely to start the season on suspension.

  • Posted: 3/30/2014 2:27pm ET

Baltimore Ravens RB Bernard Pierce said his surgically repaired rotator cuff is improving, and he will be ready for training camp. 'I'm grinding every day,' Pierce said.

Huddle Up: Pierce, who has 260 rushes for 968 yards in 2 seasons in Baltimore, will at least be counted on to reprise his No. 2 role and maybe more pending starter Ray Rice's current legal situation.

  • Posted: 1/29/2014 11:31pm ET

Baltimore Ravens RB Bernard Pierce (shoulder) had successful rotator cuff surgery Wednesday, Jan. 29, according to his agent.

Huddle Up: Pierce should be recovered in plenty of time for offseason activities, good news since the Ravens will be breaking in a new offensive coordinator.

  • Posted: 1/8/2014 12:45pm ET

Baltimore Ravens RB Bernard Pierce (shoulder) is expected to undergo surgery on his right shoulder to repair his rotator cuff.

Huddle Up: Both Pierce and Ray Rice battled injuries as they struggled this season. The key to returning both backs' stat lines to health will be improved offensive line play as well as Pierce and Rice bouncing back from their respective ailments.

Baltimore Ravens RB Bernard Pierce (leg) aggravated a leg injury in the Week 7 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, but he was not concerned after the game. 'It's a little banged up, but I'll be fine,' Pierce said Sunday, Oct. 20. 'I'll get through. It's been lingering on the side of my leg.'

Huddle Up: Keep an eye on his situation, but it looks like Ray Rice will have more time to himself in that backfield.
