The Houston Texans have announced they have placed RB Ahman Green (knee) on Injured Reserve, ending his 2008 season.
The Huddle Take: No real surprise here, considering how fragile Green has been through his career. Steve Slaton will continue to get most of the carries, while Ryan Moats takes those opportunities that were going to Green.

The Houston Chronicle reports Houston Texans RB Ahman Green (knee) said he should recover quickly from his injury, but remains unlikely to play in Week 13. If he does not play, RBs Steve Slaton and Ryan Moats will take the carries in Week 13.
The Huddle Take: There's a good chance Moats will see quite a bit of action this week if the fragile Green is out yet again, since Slaton has been slowed recently with bruised ribs.

The Houston Chronicle reports Texans RB Ahman Green could miss a few weeks with a knee injury suffered in Week 12. "Unfortunately, Ahman is down," head coach Gary Kubiak said. "It looks like it could be a few weeks, just talking to (head team trainer) Kevin (Bastin)." The Texans were looking for Green to carry the bulk of the workload at running back against the Cleveland Browns. He will undergo an MRI Monday, Nov. 24.
The Huddle Take: Seriously, is anyone surprised by this? Green has spent so much time in the training room he's just a few credits shy of an honorary M.D. The backup plan to Green and Steve Slaton is Ryan Moats.

CBSSports.com reports Houston Texans RB Ahman Green (knee) suffered a left knee injury during the team's Week 12 game.
The Huddle Take: The brittle Green has been off the field more than on this season but was actually showing some signs of solid ground production while he was on the field. Fantasy owners should not be utilizing Green at all on their fantasy teams as he is not currently worthy of a roster spot due to his injury status.

The Houston Chronicle reports Houston Texans RB Ahman Green (groin, hamstring) participated in practice Thursday, Nov. 6. He is expected to play in the team's Week 10 game.
The Huddle Take: Green will likely take away carries from Steve Slaton diminishing the rookie's value in what was already a tough matchup with Baltimore this week.

The Houston Chronicle, reports Houston Texans RB Ahman Green (groin, hamstring) was limited in practice Friday, Oct. 31, and he will be a game-time decision for Week 9. He is listed as questionable for the game.
The Huddle Take: Don't look for Green to be a big contributor to fantasy stat lines in Week 9 even if he does play since he will face a stout Minnesota run defense. Rookie RB Steve Slaton continues to start which will limit Green's production in this offense for the remainder of the year.

The Houston Chronicle reports Houston Texans RB Ahman Green (groin, hamstring) was limited in practice Thursday, Oct. 30, and he is listed as day-to-day. The team is unsure if he will be able to play in Week 9.
The Huddle Take: Whether or not Green goes could be immaterial, for the Minnesota run defense usually doesn't surrender big numbers to anyone. Even if Steve Slaton gets the lion's share of carries, it may not matter this week.

The Houston Chronicle reports Houston Texans RB Ahman Green (groin, hamstring) missed the team's practice Wednesday, Oct. 29, and he is day-to-day. The team isn't sure if he will be able to play in Week 9.
The Huddle Take: So what else is new for Green who has been on the injury report more than he has been off this season. There is no question that he has a tremendous amount of talent and is worthy of keeping on your fantasy roster as a No. 3 or No. 4 running back for depth purposes. However, don't look for him to produce lots of fantasy points but he could be a nice fill-in for injuries or bye week losses.

HoustonTexans.com reports Houston Texans head coach Gary Kubiak he liked how RB Ahman Green looked during the team's Week 5 game. 'Ahman looked really good throughout the game. I thought he ran very, very well, and that's exciting for us as a team to know that those two right now, if Ahman is healthy, give us a heck of a one-two punch, but we've got confidence in both of them,' Kubiak said. He rushed for 47 yards on 12 carries in the game.
The Huddle Take: Not exactly comforting quotes if you picked up or traded for Steve Slaton thinking he would be one of the few true, unquestioned No. 1 running backs in the NFL. But until you see Green poaching significant carries from him, Slaton remains a solid No. 2 Fantasy option.

The Houston Chronicle reports Houston Texans RB Ahman Green (ankle) practiced Friday, Oct. 3, and is considered probable for the team's Week 5 game. He is expected to play this week.
The Huddle Take: We should believe it when we see it as Green appears to be headed for his first action of the regular season. If Green does get in the lineup he could steal some carries from Steve Slaton who has a nice matchup this week with the Indianapolis Colts. However, you need to remember that Green seems to be an accident waiting to happen and could easily suffer another setback along the way.
