Pittsburgh Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger (shoulder) was officially
ruled out for the Week 13 game against the Baltimore Ravens, which
is bad news for the visitors. The Steelers are 0-6 against the
Ravens when Roethlisberger doesn't start. QB Charlie Batch is 0-2 in
his career against the Ravens.
Huddle Up: The Steelers and Batch definitely will extend that streak if they
come anywhere close to repeating their 8-turnover performance of a
week ago. At the same time, it's a risk starting any Steelers pass
catcher this week, but if you have no better option, you need to
hope Batch can improve on his 199-yard, no-TD pass showing in Week
12.

Pittsburgh Steelers QB Charlie Batch is preparing this week for a second straight start against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 13. However, QB Ben Roethlisberger (shoulder, ribs), who remains in some amount of pain, threw for the first time Monday, Nov. 26, and will be evaluated the entire week. Head coach Mike Tomlin said Roethlisberger won't play 'unless he shows us he's capable.'
Huddle Up: The Steelers and Black and Gold Nation are eagerly awaiting Big Ben's return, but Week 13 is looking like a longshot at this point. The only positives? It's still early in the week, and Roethlisberger is one of the league's true gamers who doesn't want to miss a second meeting with the hated Ravens. Naturally, stay tuned ...

Pittsburgh Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger will receive the most snaps during the third preseason game Saturday, Aug. 25. QBs Byron Leftwich and Charlie Batch will also play in the game, but QB Jerrod Johnson will sit out the game.
Huddle Up: It's status quo for the Steelers' QBs with Leftwich and Batch backing up Big Ben. Expect to see Leftwich or Batch make a start or two sometime during the regular season as Roethlisberger has played a full 16 games only once (2008) during his eight-year pro career.
