Detroit Lions RB LeGarrette Blount was ejected in the fourth quarter of the Week 2 game against the San Francisco 49ers for coming off the bench and pushing LB Elijah Wood.

Huddle Up: The ejection led to problems for the Lions late, as Theo Riddick left the game with an ankle injury and Ameer Abdullah was a healthy scratch. That left just rookie Kerryon Johnson in the backfield to finish up. It's uncertain if Blount will face further disciplinary action from the league.

  • Posted: 9/15/2018 7:29pm ET

Detroit Lions RB LeGarrette Blount (shoulder) is expected to play in the Week 2 game against the San Francisco 49ers.

Huddle Up: While the 49ers have yet to allow a rushing touchdown through two games, they do rank 17th in the league with 116.0 yards per game allowed on the ground. Blount should still be treated as an RB3 or flex fantasy option for this one.

  • Posted: 9/14/2018 1:52pm ET

Detroit Lions RB LeGarrette Blount (shoulder) was limited in practice on Friday, Sept. 14 and he is listed as questionable for Week 2 against the San Francisco 49ers.

Huddle Up: It's uncertain if Blount suffered some kind of a setback, as he practiced in full on Wednesday and Thursday. Either way, he is only worth a look as a low-end RB3 or flex fantasy option in the deepest of leagues heading into Week 2.

  • Posted: 9/13/2018 4:03pm ET

Detroit Lions RB LeGarrette Blount (shoulder) fully participated in practice Thursday, Sept. 13.

Huddle Up: Blount received only four carries in Week 1 and finished with minus three yards before suffering his injury. He will continue to be part of a committee at running back but probably can be benched this week.

  • Posted: 9/12/2018 2:42pm ET

Detroit Lions RB LeGarrette Blount (shoulder) was able to practice in full Wednesday, Sept. 12.

Huddle Up: Blount got off to an inauspicious start in the opener, actually finishing with minus rushing yardage. He'll look to get back in track in Week 2, but for now treat him as a low-end RB3 or flex player in deeper fantasy leagues.

  • Posted: 9/10/2018 8:40pm ET

Detroit Lions RB LeGarrette Blount (undisclosed) did not return after suffering an undisclosed injury in the Week 1 game against the New York Jets. He missed most of the second half.

Huddle Up: Blount carried four times for minus-3 yards in the lost night. The source and severity of his injury is not yet certain, nor is his availability for the Week 2 battle against the San Francisco 49ers.

  • Posted: 8/17/2018 7:22pm ET

Detroit Lions RB LeGarrette Blount rushed 11 times for 32 yards in a 30-17 preseason loss to the New York Giants Friday, Aug. 17.

Huddle Up: Blount received 11 of the 23 carries, and he should serve as the power back this year. His potential to find the end zone makes him worth grabbing as a RB4.

  • Posted: 7/30/2018 11:10am ET

Detroit Lions RB LeGarrette Blount (undisclosed) participated in practice Monday, July 30, after leaving practice early Sunday, July 29, because of an undisclosed injury.

Huddle Up: Blount probably will be used as short-yardage and goal line back this season, so he may not receive a consistent amount of touches from week to week. He can be considered a No. 4 running back in standard leagues but will be less valuable in point-per-reception leagues.

  • Posted: 5/25/2018 6:31pm ET

Detroit Lions RB Kerryon Johnson and LeGarrette Blount were 'no doubt' the top two running backs during OTAs Thursday, May 24, according to Tim Twentyman of DetroitLions.com.

Huddle Up: Johnson has the long-term upside, but he and Blount will likely split carries on early downs and near the goal line in some capacity. Keep an eye on the situation because there is a good chance one of these backs emerges as a RB3.

  • Posted: 3/16/2018 6:37pm ET

Free-agent RB LeGarrette Blount (Eagles) has agreed to a one-year deal with the Detroit Lions worth $4.5 million, according to a source.

Huddle Up: Detroit's ground game has been miserable in recent years, and Blount should immediately become the lead back in between the tackles and near the goal line. He could sneak into RB2 territory.

  • Posted: 3/14/2018 7:17pm ET

Free-agent RB LeGarrette Blount is scheduled to visit the Detroit Lions on Friday, March 16.

Huddle Up: It would be a good fit for Blount to land with the Lions, who have not had a desirable running game in years. In fact, they just produced the league's worst rush attack this past season, so it's a sure bet that Detroit will do something to address this obvious need. Blount saw his numbers go down in 2017 but he could potentially be a legit RB2 as the Lions' lead back.

  • Posted: 2/19/2018 11:46am ET

Philadelphia Eagles impending free-agent RB LeGarrette Blount wants to return to the Eagles, he told NFL Network during an interview.

Huddle Up: Blount will be playing in an age-32 season in 2018. He mustered only two rushing TDs in 2017's regular season but found paydirt in each of the three playoff games for Philly. The Eagles have a lot of talented bodies and may opt for a cheaper, more versatile rotation. Assuming Blount returns, he's merely fantasy roster depth in the waning rounds of a draft.

  • Posted: 1/23/2018 12:42am ET

Philadelphia Eagles RB LeGarrette Blount moved up to seventh on the NFL's all-time postseason rushing touchdown leaderboard, scoring his 10th career playoff touchdown on the ground in the team's Conference Championship win Sunday, Jan. 21, against the Minnesota Vikings.

Huddle Up: Despite registering single-digit rush attempts in each of Philadelphia's first two playoff games, Blount has managed to make the most of his work, as he's found the end zone in both contests. Jay Ajayi has been getting the bulk of the carries, but even so, Blount should continue to remain a force in red-zone and goaline situations.

  • Posted: 1/21/2018 7:00pm ET

Philadelphia Eagles RB LeGarrette Blount rushed six times for 21 yards and a touchdown in a 38-7 win over the Minnesota Vikings in the NFC Championship game.

Huddle Up: Blount powered his way in for a short touchdown, but he has been taking more and more of a backseat to Jay Ajayi in recent weeks. He looks like a touchdown-dependent option at this point.

  • Posted: 1/13/2018 5:36pm ET

Philadelphia Eagles RB LeGarrette Blount scored a touchdown for the Eagles in his team's 15-10 win over the Atlanta Falcons. Blount finished with nine carries and 19 yards rushing.

Huddle Up: Blount could be effective in short-yardage situations, especially if Philadelphia struggles against its opponent next week. Keep an eye on Blount for fantasy contests.

  • Posted: 12/10/2017 8:52pm ET

Philadelphia Eagles RB LeGarrette Blount rushed seven times for just 12 yards in Week 14 against the Los Angeles Rams.

Huddle Up: Blount hasn't been the same since the team acquired Jay Ajayi, and he even looks to be behind Corey Clement in the pecking order for touches in the Philly backfield now. He is only worth a look as a low-end RB3 or flex fantasy option at this point of the season.

  • Posted: 11/26/2017 6:10pm ET

Philadelphia Eagles RB LeGarrette Blount rushed for a team-high 97 yards on 15 carries and lost a fumble in a 31-3 win over the Chicago Bears in Week 12.

Huddle Up: Blount has led the Eagles in carries in each of the past two games, and it doesn't seem like the arrival of Jay Ajayi is going to hurt his fantasy value too much. He is a serviceable RB3.

  • Posted: 11/19/2017 8:59pm ET

Philadelphia Eagles RB LeGarrette Blount rushed 13 times for 57 yards in Week 11 against the Dallas Cowboys.

Huddle Up: Blount was used as a hammer to change-of-pace backs Corey Clement, Jay Ajayi and Kenjon Barner. He averaged 4.4 yards per carry, and he ripped off a 30-yard run in this one. However, Blount remains more of a low-end RB2 in standard fantasy formats heading into Week 12 against the Bears. He has lesser value in PPR leagues since he doesn't really ever catch the ball.

  • Posted: 10/31/2017 10:58am ET

Philadelphia Eagles RB LeGarrette Blount will remain the starting running back despite the addition of Jay Ajayi, according to vice president of football operations Howie Roseman.

Huddle Up: Common sense would suggest this is a temporary stance while Ajayi learns the playbook, as the Eagles did not spend a fourth-round pick to upgrade the position only to sit him behind what they already had. Ajayi may not reach the fantasy heights he achieved with the Miami Dolphins last year, but his new situation is much better from a fantasy perspective than the one he is leaving this year. Owners should probably bench Ajayi this week and be ready to start him again following the team's Week 10 bye.

  • Posted: 10/31/2017 8:38am ET

Even with the acquisition of RB Jay Ajayi from the Miami Dolphins, the Philadelphia Eagles are not likely to move RB LeGarrette Blount at the trade deadline.

Huddle Up: Blount's role figures to change with the team, and it won't be for the better in terms of stats. Philadelphia went out and upgraded its running game because the injury to RB Darren Sproles put Blount in a position to gain yards, and he couldn't fulfill that promise.

  • Posted: 10/29/2017 4:27pm ET

Philadelphia Eagles RB LeGarrette Blount rushed 16 times for 48 yards and a touchdown in Week 8 against the San Francisco 49ers and he added a four-yard reception on his only target.

Huddle Up: Blount isn't crushing it like he did in 2016 when he led the league with 18 rushing scores, but he is rolling along with 4.7 yards per carry on his 100 rushes so far this season. That's slightly over his career average of 4.4 yards per tote. He remains a decent RB3 or flex fantasy option in all formats heading into Week 9 against the Broncos.

  • Posted: 10/23/2017 9:17pm ET

Philadelphia Eagles RB LeGarrette Blount managed to pick up a season-low 29 rushing yards on 14 carries in the team's Week 7 game Monday, Oct. 23, against the Washington Redskins.

Huddle Up: A disappointing game for sure -- and it's also severely disappointing that he only has one touchdown on the year -- but owners shouldn't be thinking about giving up on Blount. The Eagles are one of the league's highest-scoring offenses, and as long as the former Patriot continues to lead the backfield in carries, he should start to come through for owners much sooner than later.

  • Posted: 10/14/2017 10:51am ET

Philadelphia Eagles RB LeGarrette Blount is averaging 4.9 yards after contact per carry through six games in 2017.

Huddle Up: To put that number into some context, only eight running backs are averaging at least 4.9 yards per carry so far. Carson Wentz's accelerated maturation process as well as the upgraded receiving corps are among the factors contributing to Blount's ability to not face loaded boxes, and it helps he is getting a lot of work with the Eagles holding the lead late in games against tired defenses. Blount isn't scoring enough touchdowns to be considered a RB2 in PPR, but he is making for a fine flex option.

  • Posted: 10/12/2017 10:02pm ET

Philadelphia Eagles RB LeGarrette Blount registered 14 carries for 67 yards (4.8 YPC) during the team's win over the Carolina Panthers on Thursday Night Football.

Huddle Up: In three of the last four games, Blount has carried between 12 and 14 times and gained between 67 and 74 yards, so it appears we've found his sweet spot. He added a two-point conversion against the Panthers, but he only has two touchdowns this year after scoring 18 times a season ago. He's best used as a flex.

  • Posted: 10/8/2017 2:44pm ET

Philadelphia Eagles RB LeGarrette Blount rushed for 74 yards on 14 carries against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 5.

Huddle Up: Blount will continue to receive most of the rushing attempts as long as he stays healthy. He can be considered a low-end No. 2 running back or a flex option in standard leagues next week.

  • Posted: 10/1/2017 7:47pm ET

Philadelphia Eagles RB LeGarrette Blount finished with 16 carries for 136 yards, including 88 yards in the fourth quarter, in a 26-24 win over the Los Angeles Chargers Sunday, Oct. 1.

Huddle Up: It was an encouraging outing for Blount, but he was one of three backs to receive double-digit carries. He will be a risky flex play against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 5.

  • Posted: 9/30/2017 6:34am ET

Philadelphia Eagles RB LeGarrette Blount was fined $9,115 by the National Football League for taunting following a touchdown in Week 3's game against the New York Giants.

Huddle Up: Blount had 12 carries for 67 yards versus the Giants after being largely ignored in the offense the week before. He should see a slightly heavier workload going forward due to the season-ending injury for Darren Sproles and is worthy of consideration as a RB3 or flex option in deeper fantasy leagues.

  • Posted: 9/24/2017 4:26pm ET

Philadelphia Eagles RB LeGarrette Blount rushed 12 times for 67 yards and a touchdown in the Week 3 win against the New York Giants.

Huddle Up: Blount didn't have any rush attempts, and just one touch, in Week 2. This is what fantasy owners expect from Blount, who still has two total touchdowns through three games in limited work. He remains more of a RB3 or flex play heading into Week 4 on the road against the Chargers.
