Updating a previous report, Green Bay Packers TE Brandon Bostick (leg) has a slight fracture of his fibula and could return by Week 2 or Week 3.

Huddle Up: The Packers continue to be snakebitten at the tight end position. Andrew Quarless will likely end up as the starting tight end by default, unless rookie Richard Rodgers comes on strong or the prodigal and oft-injured Jermichael Finley returns to Green Bay.

Green Bay Packers TE Brandon Bostick (leg) will probably miss the remainder of the preseason and could miss the team's Week 1 game against the Seattle Seahawks. Bostick is not expected to need surgery.

Huddle Up: Bostick was fighting for a shot at the starting TE gig, but this leaves Andrew Quarless in firm control of the job. The latter also is a decent deep-league sleeper for those seeking an under-the-radar TE with ample opportunity in a strong passing attack.

Green Bay Packers TE Brandon Bostick can make an impact on offense but needs to be a more consistent player, according to head coach Mike McCarthy. 'Brandon's got to be a consistent player on offense,' McCarthy said. 'His body type is definitely a challenge for the opponent with some of the things he's able to do, particularly his ability to get down the field in coverage. So I think he definitely took a step last year and I'd like to see him do the same. He's a talented, talented football player.'

Huddle Up: Even if the Pack doesn't bring back Jermichael Finley, Bostick will be battling Andrew Quarless and third-round rookie Richard Rodgers for playing time, making things murky for those fantasy GMs trying to take a flier on the Pack's starting TE.

Green Bay Packers TE Brandon Bostick could be the team's future at tight end.

Huddle Up: With Jermichael Finley's career in limbo, the Packers may be in need of a pass-catching tight end. If Bostick shows well down the stretch he could be a nice stash as the heir to Finley's fantasy numbers heading into 2014.
