The Associated Press reports Arizona Cardinals QB Kurt Warner went 6-for-18 for 30 yards in the team's Week 16 game. It was the fewest yards in any game he has started which he has thrown at least 10 passes.
The Huddle Take: It is hard to believe that Warner and the Cardinal offense was almost completely shut down in Week 16 against the New England Patriots. Warner, who has been considered by many to be in contention for the league MVP award, was replaced in the second half by Matt Leinart after he was ineffective in moving the offense. This move was likely done just because the game was well out of reach so expect the Cardinals to start Warner once again without concern in Week 17.

The NFL Network reports the contract talks between the Arizona Cardinals and QB Kurt Warner, who will be an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season, have not progressed at all.
The Huddle Take: Those talks apparently haven't distracted Warner, who's consistently put up big numbers even during the Cardinals' recent two-game losing streak. He's too much of a pro to let that kind of thing affect him, anyway, so it shouldn't be a concern of yours, either.

Arizona Cardinals QB Kurt Warner was 32-for-42 for 328 yards with three touchdowns during the team's Week 10 game.
The Huddle Take: Warner just keeps rolling along, and is now in the mix, and rightly so, for an NFL MVP award.

KThe Arizona Republic reports Arizona Cardinals QB Kurt Warner will remain the starter despite committing six turnovers in Week 4. Head coach Ken Whisenhunt said he never considered bringing in QB Matt Leinart. Warner finished the game with 472 passing yards and two touchdowns.
The Huddle Take: That's great news for fantasy players; not so great, maybe, if you're a Cardinal fan. Warner may be the starter for Week 5, but he's got to be on a pretty short leash. Another turnover-fest like Sunday and Warner may be riding pine for good, so get what you can out of him while you can. If you have some QB depth, explore the trade market in your league for Warner and see what offers you get.

The Associated Press reports Arizona Cardinals QB Kurt Warner went 40-for-57 for 472 yards, two touchdowns and three interceptions in the team's Week 4 game.
The Huddle Take: The Cards trailed most of the game, forcing Warner to play catch-up. His gaudy stat line also produced three 100-yard receivers.

The Associated Press reports Arizona Cardinals QB Kurt Warner went 19-for-24 for 361 yards and three touchdowns in the team's Week 2 game. He had his third career perfect 158.3 passer rating, which ties an NFL record.
The Huddle Take: There is little doubt that the starting quarterback for Arizona is Kurt Warner after this performance as he showed the skills that led him to being the league MVP a few years ago. Warner is a solid No. 1 quarterback for fantasy teams and should be an every week starter especially with the weapons around him that he has now.

Arizona Cardinals QB Kurt Warner improved his record to 8-1 versus the San Francisco 49ers after a Week 1 victory. Warner has thrown 20 touchdown passes with 10 interceptions in those games.
The Huddle Take: Considering the Cardinals have their home opener against a deflated Miami team this weekend, Warner looks like a no-brainer Fantasy starter.

ESPNews reports the Arizona Cardinals have named QB Kurt Warner as their starting quarterback for the 2008 season.
The Huddle Take: Despite conflicting reports, was there ever really any doubt that Arizona was going to go with Warner to start the regular season. He has clearly been the best quarterback on the team during the preseason and provides veteran leadership that the team will need to remain competitive this season. Matt Leinart may be the quarterback of the future for this team but it is clear that he is not considered ready and the future is definately not now. Warner should be considered a solid low-end No. 1 quarterback for fantasy teams this season.

AZCardinals.com reports Arizona Cardinals QB Kurt Warner will start in the team's preseason game Friday, Aug. 29.
The Huddle Take: Warner is the most likely starter for the Cardinals in Week 1 over second year player Matt Leinart. It is likely that the talented Warner should play most of the first half and then give way to Leinart in the second half as Arizona continues to evaluate their quarterback situation. Consider Warner a solid low-end No. 1 quarterback and elevate all Cardinal skill players up a few notches on your draft board because of his presence on the field.
Posted: 8/25/2008 6:01pm et
The Arizona Republic reports Arizona Cardinals head coach Ken Whisenhunt refuted an ESPN.com report that he has named QB Kurt Warner over QB Matt Leinart as the team's starting quarterback. Speaking on KTAR radio Monday, Aug. 25, Whisenhunt said nothing has changed since the team's last preseason game and that he hadn't even looked at tape from the game to make any decision. 'I haven't read the paper today or seen the Internet,' Whisenhunt said. 'Do we have a quarterback?' It seems like Chris Mortensen is making the decision on our quarterback for our football team, But nothing has changed.'
The Huddle Take: Interesting. So, for those who were thinking you made a late round steal, it's back to the land of uncertainty. While it is still likely Warner will get the nod, the reality is, the team needs to move into the future soon, and Leinart is the future.
