Huddle Up: Griffin is 13-of-20 for 141 yards, no TDs and 2 picks and only has 27 rushing yards and a fumble this preseason, pumping the brakes on any 2012-RGIII-Is-Back momentum. Still, bank on Griffin starting at least the first month of the season or so, but you'd have to believe that all bets would be off if the struggles are still ongoing at that point.

Huddle Up: Yeah, we'd agree that RGIII's on-the-run decision making and sliding techniques could use some work after Monday night. Otherwise, his rebound season could hit another injury roadblock.

Huddle Up: With RGIII being another year removed from his 2012 knee issues, the addition of DeSean Jackson to a WR corps that already included Pierre Garcon and a new offense being installed with head coach Jay Gruden taking charge, there is plenty of reason to expect a bounce-back season for the QB in 2014. See if the momentum is evident in training camp and the preseason.

Huddle Up: A healthy RG3 with DeSean Jackson & Co. to throw to and Jay Gruden calling the plays... extremely exciting fantasy-wise.
Posted: 5/1/2014 11:49pm ET
Huddle Up: RGIII has rushed 206 times for 1,304 yards over first 2 seasons -- second in both categories to Cam Newton (238-1,326) over that span -- but it sounds like Griffin's fantasy owners aren't going to able to count on the same level of ground production going forward.

Huddle Up: While RGIII insisted the brace and his rehab from his 2012 postseason knee injuries didn't hamper his mobility last season, his stats beg to differ as his rushing yards fell from 815 to 489 while failing to rush for a score. Look for those numbers to rebound this fall.

Huddle Up: Don't bet against a big bounce-back year for the QB given the return to a normal offseason and the coaching change in D.C.
Posted: 1/9/2014 11:26pm ET
Huddle Up: This belongs in the no-duh category as the Skins have mortgaged three drafts, including the upcoming 2nd-overall pick, to draft Griffin 3 years ago.
Posted: 1/7/2014 7:23pm ET
Huddle Up: Given the ugliness of the on-field play and off-field rumors and "reports," Skins fans and RGIII's dynasty league owners might want to just pretend that the 2013 season never took place. Let's all hope for a 2014 clean slate.
Posted: 12/12/2013 6:46pm ET
Huddle Up: At least we know RGIII has a better chance of starting the 2014 season in D.C. than the Shanahans and figures to be a lot better another 8 months removed from his knee injury.
Posted: 12/11/2013 10:44am ET
Huddle Up: RG3 too banged up? Mike Shanahan's last gasp attempt to keep his job? Either way, Cousins walks into an extremely favorable matchup and has a chance to be a fantasy postseason hero.
Posted: 12/10/2013 7:18pm ET
Huddle Up: RGIII only has totalled 489 passing yards and 2 TDs over his past 3 outings and should be benched in fantasy leagues even if Shanny doesn't pull the plug Wednesday.

Huddle Up: In case you were counting on Griffin this week, be wary.
Posted: 11/26/2013 8:15pm ET
Huddle Up: As fantasy GMs have found out, Griffin isn't the RGIII of 2012, and with the Skins' season going nowhere, backup Kirk Cousins could get a chance to play and prove Brooks prophetic.
Posted: 11/26/2013 12:34am ET
Huddle Up: RGIII, who took some punishing shots from a physical 49er defense, finished with a season-low in passing yards and failed to guide the Skins to a TD for the first time as a pro. Overall, things are rapidly trending in the wrong direction for Griffin, coach Mike Shanahan and the team as a whole, and it would be far from a shock to see backup Kirk Cousins given some snaps if things keep spiraling downward.
Posted: 11/19/2013 2:16pm ET
Huddle Up: RGIII only has 345 rushing yards so far -- 34.5 per game -- and no ground TDs after racking up a league-QB high 815 yards (54.3 per game) and 7 scores a year ago. He still ranks as a top-10 fantasy QB (7th overall) thanks largely to all the passing he's done with the Skins behind in most of their games, but Shanny is right: Due to the after-effects of the knee injury and the new looks defenses are showing Griffin, it's a different game for the QB this season.

Huddle Up: After a week in which he failed to find the end zone -- rushing or passing -- RGIII delivered three passing TDs to his fantasy owners. All 3 came in the first half, though, and he was unable to guide the Skins to end zone in the second half, including the last-minute drive.

Huddle Up: Despite some early-week fears after the beating he took in Denver this past Sunday, Griffin will be good to go against the Chargers this Sunday.
Posted: 10/31/2013 5:22pm ET
Huddle Up: Hold those starting plans for Kirk Cousins. RGIII has participated in both of the Skins' practices this week and looks to be on track to face the visiting Chargers on Sunday.
Posted: 10/30/2013 6:00pm ET
Huddle Up: Looks like he will be fine for this week.
Posted: 10/28/2013 2:55pm ET
Huddle Up: This is good to hear, but Griffin had some close calls last season before finally tearing that MCL. Hopefully it really is nothing, but Griffin is starting to become a lost fantasy cause this season.
Posted: 10/16/2013 8:42pm ET
Huddle Up: Griffin still needs to get his accuracy issues worked out but the Redskins did rack up 433 yards of total offense against Dallas. The problem is Washington had to settle for four field goal attempts and Griffin missed open receivers all night long. Running more will certainly help Griffin's fantasy stats but he needs to do a better job of completing passes while he's in the pocket or he may not be the starter for much longer.
Posted: 9/10/2013 10:29am ET
Huddle Up: RG3 definitely looked tentative to start the game, but he rounded into form and put up helpful fantasy numbers while leading Washington back into the game. Going forward you may have to dial back the rushing expectations, but Griffin is a fine passer and will carve out plenty of fantasy value via his arm.

Huddle Up: Griffin, seeing his first game action since knee surgery in January, looked out-of- sync and didn't get much help early, completing 5-of-11 passes for 53 yards in the opening half. The QB, however, gained some traction in the second 30 minutes, going 25-of-38 for 276 yards and 2 TD throws to Leonard Hankerson. He didn't look as fast or fluid scrambling as he did a season ago, but he eased some fantasy concerns with the solid second half.
Posted: 9/3/2013 5:05pm ET
Huddle Up: Griffin could be limited this Monday based on whatever mandate he gets from his coach. He should also be rusty being this is his first game action since injuring his knee last year. As Heisenberg would say, tread lightly.
Posted: 9/2/2013 5:16pm ET
Huddle Up: This wasn't a foregone conclusion, but we all assumed this would be the case. As for whether Griffin is immediately a top fantasy option, however, it will be interesting to see how quickly he shakes off the rust and regains form. He might not be running a whole lot either.
Posted: 8/30/2013 2:57pm ET
Huddle Up: RGIII owners will have their man available from the get-go, but at this point, they can't realistically count on QB approaching his rushing numbers (815, 7 TDs) from a year ago.
