Huddle Up: The 12-time Pro Bowler, who turned 36 in June, clearly has lost a step or two and is battling a crop of relative youngsters, including second-round pick Stanley Jean-Baptiste, for position on the depth chart. He only recorded 12 passes defenses and 2 interceptions over his final 2 seasons in Denver.

Huddle Up: It's been quiet on the Bailey front since the Broncos cut ties with the 35-year-old CB last month, and it's hard to envision the 12-time Pro Bowler as anything more than a nickel corner going forward.

Huddle Up: The soon-to-be 36-year-old DB had a great 10-year run in the Mile High City, and it was simply time for the two sides to part with Bailey due $10 million his coming season. He should find a suitor at a much lower pricetag, but his future most likely lies at safety rather than on the corner.

Huddle Up: This has been the roughest season of Bailey's Hall of Fame career. The CB missed all 5 games due to a preseason foot injury, but the 35-year-old CB is one win away from his first Super Bowl appearance, so expect a championship effort Sunday.

Huddle Up: Bailey, who's basically been limited to a game-and-a-half this season, might be needed in a big way with fellow CBs Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie and Omar Bolden getting banged up in Week 12.

Huddle Up: It looks as if the bye week wasn't enough for the 35-year-old Bailey, who has been limited to only 2 games so far due to the bothersome foot sprain he originally suffered in the preseason and aggravated Week 7 vs. the Colts.

Huddle Up: It's starting to look like a lost season for the 35-year-old Bailey, who already has missed the first 5 games of the year. Still, with or without Bailey, the Broncos are bringing up the rear in NFL passing defense, allowing 319.9 yards per game.

Huddle Up: Judging by the way the Cowboys shredded the Denver defense -- the secondary in particular -- the timing couldn't be better for Bailey, who will get a tune-up tilt against the Jags before Denver heads to Indy for a key Week 7 clash.

Huddle Up: Bailey made progress in practice this past week, but the 35-year-old CB will need another week to recover from his preseason Week 2 foot sprain. His absence, however, hasn't set the Broncos' deep secondary back much as Denver is tied for the league lead with 6 interceptions.

Huddle Up: The Broncos were hoping Bailey -- who suffered a foot sprain in Week 2 of the preseason -- would be back by the opener, but now Week 2 and a matchup with the Giants' talented WRs is in serious question. See if he can make a late push to play in Friday's practice.

Huddle Up: Bailey was torched by Torrey Smith in the AFC Championship game last year, so what does this mean for Smith's value this week? Don't count on him to score twice, necessarily, but it should be a nice game for the new No. 1 in Baltimore.

Huddle Up: Bailey, who missed the final 2 games of the preseason with a foot sprain, did individual work on the side Tuesday, but the Broncos' early opener this year is not working in the 35-year-old CB's favor.

Huddle Up: Looks like Champ is on course to play in the season opener Thursday night against Baltimore. That's good news for the Broncos--and bad fantasy news for Torrey Smith.

Huddle Up: Bailey missed the team's final 2 preseason contests and has been out of practice as well. He insists he's a quick healer and will be ready for the NFL opener, but at age 35, Bailey can't be expected to recover as fast as he used to. Don't include him in your IDP plans until the outlook improves dramatically.
