ESPN.com reports Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Jack Del Rio will meet with LB Mike Peterson Friday, Nov. 7, to discuss Peterson's future with the team. Peterson will be allowed to return to the team immediately if the meeting goes well. He has not been ruled out of the team's Week 10 game.
The Huddle Take: The Jaguars defense has been a mere shell of its former self this season, though certainly all of its woes can't be laid on Peterson. With Jacksonville looking less like a contender and more like a team playing out the string, Del Rio may feel the freedom to make a statement and assert his authority—and with Peterson in the final year of his contract and already talking about playing out the year and going elsewhere, he may be the scapegoat.

Jacksonville LB Mike Peterson has been ruled out of the game Sunday with the New England Patriots due to a broken hand. The injury has sidelined the Jaguars star linebacker for the last eight weeks.
The Huddle Take: The Jaguars were hoping Peterson would return to action this week against the undefeated Patriots but he was not granted medical clearance to play. Unless Jacksonville can pull off a monumental upset Sunday to defeat New England it would appear that Peterson's 2007 season is over.
