The Denver Post reports the Denver Broncos have been practicing in pads and taking practice sessions more seriously the past few weeks, according to CB Dre' Bly. 'The last couple of weeks, we took it a little more seriously,' said Bly. 'We've been in pads, we've been fitting the gaps in the running game and taking it back to square one.' The past two weeks the team has held Cleveland Browns RB Jamal Lewis and Atlanta Falcons RB Michael Turner to 3.2 yards per carry. The team has also dumped their 3-4 defense and gone back to a more conventional 4-3 defense.
The Huddle Take: Taking practice more seriously? What a concept. That's an asinine comment that is a total indictment of the coaching staff. But at the same time they've held two strong running backs to minimal averages per carry, so maybe the Denver defense will continue the improvement the rest of the season. If they continue to take practice seriously, that is.
