Cincinnati Bengals QB Andy Dalton has the 'body of an All-Pro' and is in great shape, according to Gil Brandt of NFL.com.

Huddle Up: We may have already seen Dalton's best years, but if offseason upgrades to the offensive line work out, he could certainly be one of the better QB2 options in 2018.

  • Posted: 4/12/2018 7:37pm ET

Cincinnati Bengals QB Andy Dalton is looking forward to the new playbook that is being prepared by offensive coordinator Bill Lazor, who has spent this offseason revamping the old one after joining the club early on last season. 'The sense I'm getting is there is going to be a lot of change and a lot of learning, which is a good thing,' Dalton said. 'I think it's good to challenge yourself and kind of refresh yourself on what you're doing. When you're hearing the same thing for seven straight years, it can be mundane and you already know it. Now it's new and fresh.'

Huddle Up: Dalton isn't exactly coming off a strong year, posting an 86.6 passer rating and logging the second-fewest passing yards of his career. The team did improve overall, though, after Lazor came aboard, so there is some hope that his first offseason with the club can lead to bigger things next season. Regardless, Dalton is a QB2 in most formats entering the 2018 campaign.

Cincinnati Bengals QB Andy Dalton is unlikely to receive an extension this year, according to vice president Troy Blackburn. Dalton is the 17th highest-paid quarterback, according to Spotrac.com. 'We didn't sign the (Dalton) deal because we thought it was a good deal. At the time it was an expensive deal. It was a heavy lift,' Blackburn said. 'We did it because Andy was a winning starting quarterback in the National Football League, he had demonstrated that.'

Huddle Up: Dalton was 16th in fantasy points at the position last season, and his fantasy appeal has leveled off. He's a consistent, yet unspectacular backup.

  • Posted: 12/24/2017 4:10pm ET

Cincinnati Bengals QB Andy Dalton completed 27 of his 41 pass attempts for 238 yards, one touchdown and one interception in the Week 16 game against the Detroit Lions.

Huddle Up: Dalton was coming on down the stretch with two touchdown strikes in four straight games from Week 10 through 13, but he has two TDs and four INTs over the past three outings and he hasn't had a 300-yard effort since Oct. 8.

  • Posted: 12/17/2017 1:08pm ET

Cincinnati Bengals QB Andy Dalton went 11-for-22 for 113 yards and two interceptions against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 15.

Huddle Up: The Bengals did not have much success on offense against the Vikings, and Dalton was benched in the blowout. He will be facing the Detroit Lions next week and should not be a starting option in fantasy leagues.

  • Posted: 12/10/2017 3:31pm ET

Cincinnati Bengals QB Andy Dalton completed 14 of his past 29 pass attempts for 141 yards, one touchdowns and an interception in the Week 14 game against the Chicago Bears. He was lifted in the second half for QB A.J. McCarron with a lopsided score.

Huddle Up: Dalton's four game streak with two or more passing touchdowns came to an end, and his struggles are likely to continue with a difficult road game in Week 15 in Minnesota.

  • Posted: 12/4/2017 9:50pm ET

Cincinnati Bengals QB Andy Dalton completed 21-of-36 passes for 234 yards and a pair of touchdowns in the team's Week 13 loss Monday, Dec. 4, against the Pittsburgh Steelers. He also rushed twice for 19 yards.

Huddle Up: Remember those whispers in the beginning of the season how the Bengals should bench Dalton for AJ McCarron? Well, seemingly quietly, the Red Rifle has bounced back nicely from that troubling start, and he's amassed a terrific stretch since the end of October, with 11 touchdowns compared to zero interceptions over his last six games. At the end of the day, though, he's not the ideal QB1 for one-quarterback formats, but is certainly a high-end QB2.

  • Posted: 11/26/2017 1:43pm ET

Cincinnati Bengals QB Andy Dalton completed 18 of his 28 pass attempts for 214 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions in the Week 12 game against the Cleveland Browns.

Huddle Up: Dalton also rushed 26 yards on four carries in the victory. He has pieced together a three-game streak with at least two scoring strikes, and he has two or more TD passes in five of his past six overall. He'll look to keep up the good work in Week 13 against the Steelers on Monday night.

  • Posted: 11/19/2017 7:52pm ET

Cincinnati Bengals QB Andy Dalton completed 15 of his 25 passes for 154 yards and three touchdowns in a 20-17 win over the Denver Broncos in Week 11.

Huddle Up: Cincinnati's offense remains a work in progress, and despite modest yardage totals, Dalton has delivered multiples touchdowns in four of his last five games. He is worth owning as a fantasy backup.

  • Posted: 11/5/2017 2:17pm ET

Cincinnati Bengals QB Andy Dalton went 10-for-18 for 136 yards against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 9.

Huddle Up: Dalton has been held to under 200 yards in two of his last three games and failed to throw a touchdown pass for the first time in six games. He will be facing a solid Tennessee Titans defense in Week 10 and can be benched if owners have better options.

  • Posted: 10/29/2017 6:08pm ET

Cincinnati Bengals QB Andy Dalton completed 17 of his 29 pass attempts for 243 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions in Week 8 against the Indianapolis Colts.

Huddle Up: Dalton started off very slow, but he has tossed at least two touchdowns in four of his past five outings. He is worth using as a QB1 when the matchup is favorable. The Bengals travel to face the Jaguars in Week 9.

  • Posted: 10/28/2017 8:44pm ET

Cincinnati Bengals QB Andy Dalton has attempted 29 passes of 15 or more yards through Week 7, completing eight of them, and he has a passer rating of 66.5 on those throws.

Huddle Up: Dalton's numbers have been trending up under new offensive coordinator Bill Lazor, but big plays continue to be few and far between. He has QB1 potential against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 8, but his value will change weekly depending on the matchup.

  • Posted: 10/27/2017 9:17pm ET

Cincinnati Bengals QB Andy Dalton has thrown multiple touchdowns in three of the four games since Bill Lazor was named the offensive coordinator.

Huddle Up: Dalton could keep the momentum going in Week 8 against an Indianapolis Colts defense that has allowed the second-most passing yards in the NFL. He has QB1 potential this weekend.

  • Posted: 10/20/2017 1:41pm ET

Cincinnati Bengals QB Andy Dalton (ankle) fully participated in practice Friday, Oct. 20, and has been removed from the Week 7 injury report.

Huddle Up: Dalton has played well since his four-interception game in Week 1 and recorded 328 yards in the last game. He will be facing a tough Pittsburgh Steelers pass defense in Week 7 and can be benched if owners have better options to use.

  • Posted: 10/19/2017 11:32am ET

Cincinnati Bengals QB Andy Dalton (ankle) fully participated in practice Thursday, Oct. 19.

Huddle Up: Dalton has thrown for at least 285 yards in each of his last two games but will be facing a tough Pittsburgh Steelers pass defense this week. Owners should be able to find better options to use and can avoid Dalton in Week 7.

  • Posted: 10/18/2017 1:22pm ET

Cincinnati Bengals QB Andy Dalton (ankle) was listed as a full participant in practice Wednesday, Oct. 18.

Huddle Up: Dalton will be facing a stiff test in Week 7 against the Steelers and their No. 1 ranked pass defense, as Pittsburgh has yielded just 153.5 yards per game with four touchdowns and five interceptions through six games. Dalton looks like he will definitely play, but he is not a recommended fantasy option.

  • Posted: 10/8/2017 5:54pm ET

Cincinnati Bengals QB Andy Dalton completed 22 of his 36 pass attempts for 328 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions in the Week 5 game against the Buffalo Bills.

Huddle Up: After a shaky start, Dalton has pieced together a few solid outings. He has 614 passing yards over the past two games with seven touchdown passes and two interceptions over the past three outings. He has re-emerged as a top-end QB2 or decent bye-week replacement in most fantasy leagues. The Bengals are off in Week 6 before heading to Pittsburgh in Week 7.

  • Posted: 10/1/2017 1:14pm ET

Cincinnati Bengals QB Andy Dalton went 25-for-30 for 286 yards and four touchdowns against the Cleveland Browns in Week 4. He also rushed for 29 yards on four carries during the game.

Huddle Up: Dalton struggled during the first three weeks but had a breakout game against the Browns. He will be facing a tougher Buffalo Bills defense next week but can be a low-end No. 1 quarterback in most fantasy leagues.

  • Posted: 9/24/2017 8:04pm ET

Cincinnati Bengals QB Andy Dalton completed 21 of his 27 pass attempts for 212 yards and two touchdowns in a 27-24 loss to the Green Bay Packers in Week 3.

Huddle Up: Dalton had a brutal first two games, but he was at least serviceable in the first game with Bill Lazor as the offensive coordinator. He may be turning a corner, but he is still no more than a QB2 heading into a Week 4 meeting with the Cleveland Browns.

  • Posted: 9/24/2017 7:23am ET

Cincinnati Bengals QB Andy Dalton is not in any imminent danger of losing his starting job, according to sources.

Huddle Up: Dalton has struggled in the first two games this season and has zero touchdowns and four interceptions during that span. He has a solid group of pass catchers to work with and could improve under a new offensive coordinator, but owners in all leagues should avoid him for now.

  • Posted: 9/23/2017 6:36pm ET

Cincinnati Bengals QB Andy Dalton and new offensive coordinator Bill Lazor are not yet at the point where they are speaking the same 'language,' according to Lazor. 'The challenge here right now is making things come out of my mouth real smooth,' Lazor said. 'I can't have any errors.'

Huddle Up: Dalton and the entire Cincinnati offense have been a mess through the first two games. You can give him a couple more weeks to turn things around before sending him to the waiver wire, but he shouldn't be starting in any format against the Packers in Week 3.

  • Posted: 9/14/2017 9:17pm ET

Cincinnati Bengals QB Andy Dalton will remain the starting quarterback, according to head coach Marvin Lewis, who said Dalton's job was not in jeopardy.

Huddle Up: A lot of people liked Cincinnati to bounce back after a disappointing 2016, but through two games they look like one of the NFL's worst teams, and a lot of that starts with Dalton, who has gone consecutive games without passing for a TD since October of 2014. Lewis offered a vote of confidence, but we'll see how long that lasts because if the Bengals don't play better, Lewis' job will be on the line as well. At that point, all bets are off. Dalton, who entered 2017 as a midrange QB2, should stay mired to your bench until further notice.

  • Posted: 9/14/2017 11:20am ET

Cincinnati Bengals QB Andy Dalton has a 1-5 record and thrown three touchdowns and seven interceptions in six career games against the Houston Texans.

Huddle Up: Dalton is in dire need of a bounce-back game after a horrendous start in Week 1 in which he threw four interceptions and lost a fumble. Considering Dalton's history against Houston, this may not be the week to bet on that rebound. Keep him on the bench if you have a better option.

  • Posted: 9/10/2017 6:18pm ET

Cincinnati Bengals QB Andy Dalton completed 16 of his 31 pass attempts for 170 yards, no touchdowns and four interceptions in the Week 1 loss against the Ravens.

Huddle Up: The Red Rifle finished with a quarterback rating of just 28.4, which is not exactly the type of start he or his fantasy owners envisioned. He is a borderline fantasy play heading into Week 2 against the Texans on a short week.
