Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray could be an option for the Detroit Lions if the Titans release him this offseason, in the opinion of The Detroit News' Justin Rogers.

Huddle Up: The Lions will be looking to add at least one running back this offseason, and Murray likely will be released this offseason. Murray likely will be part of a committee no matter where he plays in 2018 and probably will be a No. 3 or No. 4 fantasy running back.

  • Posted: 1/15/2018 9:34pm ET

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray said he believes he is 'definitely' still a top-end feature back. 'I am very confident in myself and I am excited,' he said. 'I am excited about the future, and my future. I know what kind of player I am.' He added that he 'probably' would have been able to return from injury in the next game had the Titans not lost their Divisional Round playoff affair Saturday, Jan. 13, against the New England Patriots. Murray also mentioned that he envisioned returning to the team next season.

Huddle Up: Murray might be hopeful of a return to Tennessee in 2018 but his contract suggests otherwise, as the Titans would avoid owing him any of the $6.5 million he's set to make next season by cutting him in the coming months. That makes the most sense, as Derrick Henry is fully expected to take over the reins of the backfield. Murray's fantasy stock next year will depend on what backfield situation he lands in.

  • Posted: 1/11/2018 5:32pm ET

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray has a 'decent chance' of not returning to the team next season. He's scheduled to make $6.5 million in 2018, which is 'probably too much money for a backup,' and the Titans would not owe any dead money if he is cut.

Huddle Up: Murray will be 30 years old going into next season, so it doesn't look like he has much time left as a feature back. Although he's proven to be durable throughout his seven-year career, the Titans have the younger and extremely talented Derrick Henry to ride with as their starting running back, making it unlikely Murray returns. Henry is on a roll right now and will certainly have RB1 potential in 2018 as Tennessee's lead tailback.

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray (knee) was sidelined during practice Wednesday, Jan. 10.

Huddle Up: Murray hasn't seen the gridiron since Week 16 after suffering an MCL tear. He appears to be headed for another inactive status, in which case Derrick Henry would receive the majority of touches out of the backfield. Henry's star is on the rise as an RB2 candidate in 2018.

  • Posted: 1/9/2018 1:50pm ET

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray (knee) was not able to practice Tuesday, Jan. 9.

Huddle Up: Murray has been dealing with this knee ailment for a while now. It's already caused him to miss the first round of the playoffs and he is at risk of missing a key tilt with the New England Patriots. If that is the case, we'll see a heavy dose of Derrick Henry again, a running back who has entered the RB2 conversation for 2018.

  • Posted: 1/8/2018 11:18pm ET

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray (knee) is being considered day-to-day in regards to his status for the club's upcoming Divisional Round postseason game against the New England Patriots.

Huddle Up: Even if Murray does play, Derrick Henry is expected to start out of the backfield for the Titans regardless and will be the ideal choice for DFS players this weekend. Opposite the Chiefs in the Wild Card game, Henry ran wild for 156 yards and a touchdown on 23 carries, while also hauling in both of his targets in the passing game.

  • Posted: 1/7/2018 3:08pm ET

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray (knee) has not yet been ruled out for the AFC Divisional Playoff Game against the New England Patriots, head coach Mike Mularkey said Sunday, Jan. 7.

Huddle Up: Mularkey expects Derrick Henry to haul the mail, but for now Murray still has a chance to join him in the backfield. Even so, Murray is a risky play in fantasy postseason pools and DFS play.

  • Posted: 1/4/2018 10:13am ET

Updating a previous report, Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray (knee) has been ruled out for the wild-card round of the playoffs with a sprained knee. RB Derrick Henry will start in his place.

Huddle Up: There will be a heavy dose of Henry with Murray sidelined. The bruising back is now in the RB1 conversation for those in fantasy playoff contests.

  • Posted: 1/4/2018 10:03am ET

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray (knee) will miss another day of practice Thursday, Jan. 4, with his sprained knee.

Huddle Up: Murray will do everything he can to be ready for a crucial playoff game, but the Titans have Derrick Henry to fall back on if Murray can't go or is limited. The Kansas City Chiefs were better than average defensively versus the run in 2017, but they did yield 12 rushing touchdowns to the position, making Henry an RB2 or flex consideration for those in playoff contests.

  • Posted: 1/2/2018 2:18pm ET

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray (knee) was held out of practice Tuesday, Jan. 2.

Huddle Up: There is a cloud hanging over Murray's future. It's not quite a cumulus cloud, but it's a cloud nonetheless. He'll be at the unenviable running back age of 30 next season and has 23-year-old talent Derrick Henry breathing down his neck. At best, Murray holds low-end RB2 to high-end RB3 value heading into 2018.

  • Posted: 12/29/2017 10:03am ET

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray (knee) has been ruled out for Week 17 against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Huddle Up: Murray sustained a third-degree MCL tear last week, but the Titans tried to push the idea of Murray gutting it out anyway for most of the week. His absence opens the door for Derrick Henry to get the heavy workload so many owners wanted him to see over the first 16 weeks of the season. While it is possible the Titans will zig when we expect them to zag, Henry is looking like a top-10 running back option this week.

  • Posted: 12/28/2017 11:54am ET

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray (knee) remained sidelined at practice Thursday, Dec. 28.

Huddle Up: Murray's prospects look pretty dull for the last game of the season. There should be a heavy dose of Derrick Henry even if Murray is active and limited. He is in a tough matchup, though, against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

  • Posted: 12/27/2017 4:08pm ET

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray (knee) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Dec. 27.

Huddle Up: Murray's status is not certain at this point, but there is a chance that he will not be able to play. Owners will need to monitor the situation during the week for a better idea of his status. He would be a risky option if he plays. Derrick Henry would be a nice fantasy option in all leagues if Murray is ruled out.

  • Posted: 12/26/2017 3:18pm ET

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray (knee) is dealing with a third-degree medial collateral ligament tear, according to a source. Murray thinks he can play through the injury.

Huddle Up: It's already expected that Murray is going to be on a limited snap count if he is able to go this week. Derrick Henry will ideally be given more touches, but neither running back has been consistent enough this year to warrant starting for those still in the fantasy playoffs.

  • Posted: 12/25/2017 5:16am ET

Updating previous reports, Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray (knee) is considered a long shot to play in Week 17 due to his lateral collateral sprain.

Huddle Up: Derrick Henry will have a rough matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars, but he should have enough volume to be an RB2 in fantasy.

  • Posted: 12/24/2017 2:53pm ET

Updating a previous report, Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray (knee) was diagnosed with a lateral collateral ligament sprain, a source said Sunday, Dec. 24. That's the initial diagnosis, although he'll have an MRI on Monday, Dec. 25, to confirm.

Huddle Up: It appears Murray might be done for the season, although the regular season, so Derrick Henry is expected to see a bigger role in Week 17 and perhaps into the playoffs if the team qualifies.

  • Posted: 12/24/2017 1:56pm ET

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray (knee) suffered a knee injury late in the Week 16 game against the Los Angeles Rams. Head coach Mike Mularkey said Sunday, Dec. 24, that 'it didn't look good.'

Huddle Up: Murray was injured late, so his absence didn't really hurt his fantasy. But it appears Derrick Henry could be a difference maker in fantasy leagues deciding their championships in Week 17.

  • Posted: 12/10/2017 8:14pm ET

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray ran 11 times for 34 yards in Week 14 against the Arizona Cardinals while adding two receptions for 13 yards on three targets.

Huddle Up: Murray didn't do much for the second consecutive game, but no one else accomplished much on offense either. He had 13 total touches to eight for Derrick Henry and remains the fantasy back who will have more touches in Tennessee, although he has been more of a RB3 or flex fantasy play lately.

  • Posted: 12/3/2017 6:19pm ET

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray rushed 11 times for 66 yards in the Week 13 game against the Houston Texans and he added two grabs for 13 yards on his two targets.

Huddle Up: Murray averaged a respectable 6.0 yards per game, and while he was outgained by Derrick Henry, it really was just one big 75-yard scoring run late in the fourth quarter to tip the scales in Henry's favor. Murray was far more consistent and remains a decent low-end RB2 or flex fantasy option in most formats.

  • Posted: 12/1/2017 2:05pm ET

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray (illness) was a full participant in practice Friday, Dec. 1, and he was removed from the injury report ahead of the Week 13 against the Houston Texans.

Huddle Up: Murray was a bit under the weather, but still able to participate. If he is limited in any way on Sunday it would be the benefit of his RB committee partner Derrick Henry and his fantasy owners.

  • Posted: 11/30/2017 6:24pm ET

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray and RB Derrick Henry will continue to split carries as they have all season, head coach Mike Mularkey said Thursday, Nov. 30. 'I think the way it has worked out, it has worked just fine,' Mularkey said. 'I think we have two starters.'

Huddle Up: If Mularkey holds true to his word, Murray will continue to be a low-end RB2 against the Houston Texans in Week 13, and Henry will be a risky flex play.

  • Posted: 11/30/2017 12:11pm ET

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray (illness) did not participate in practice Thursday, Nov. 30, because of an illness.

Huddle Up: Murray likely will be able to play in Week 13 if he can recover from the illness over the next few days. He has been limited to 19 rushing yards over the last two games but does have four total touchdowns in the last three games. He still has value because of his role in the passing game and can be a No. 2 running back or a flex option for owners.

  • Posted: 11/26/2017 3:17pm ET

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray rushed 12 times for nine yards and a touchdown in Week 12 against the Indianapolis Colts while adding three catches for 33 yards on four targets.

Huddle Up: That's two awful performances in a row, as he has 20 carries for just 19 rushing yards across the past two games. The touchdown was nice, but he has devolved into a low-end RB2 or flex fantasy play heading into Week 13 against the Texans. Derrick Henry performed well and could eat into his role.

  • Posted: 11/25/2017 8:32am ET

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray is expected to remain the starter over Derrick Henry for the remainder of the season, although offensive coordinator Terry Robiskie admitted there is 'a bit of a hot hand approach with the backs' and 'not a specific play count for each.'

Huddle Up: The Titans' offense as a whole has been a disappointment, the offensive line hasn't been nearly as good as it was last year and Murray has been slowed by injuries, but the 29-year-old has seemingly fallen off precipitously from what was a banner year in 2016. Tennessee reportedly values Murray's pass blocking and catching enough to keep things the way they currently are. Murray is a volume-based, low-end RB2 at best most weeks, while Henry is a high-upside, low-floor flex.

  • Posted: 11/16/2017 10:22pm ET

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray gained 10 yards on eight carries (1.3 YPC) in Week 11 against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Murray added 37 yards in the passing game on five receptions.

Huddle Up: It was another night to forget for Murray in a season that has become increasingly full of them. After leading the AFC in rushing last year, Murray has topped 60 rushing yards in game just once in 2017, and that was all the way back in Week 3. He's done a little more work as a receiver recently -- and is coming off a three-touchdown game -- but his status as a No. 2 fantasy back should be viewed as tenuous.

  • Posted: 11/16/2017 8:28am ET

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray will face the best defense against the running back position in fantasy over the last five weeks in the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 11.

Huddle Up: Outside of last week's three touchdowns, Murray has struggled. He's averaging just 3.01 yards per carry over the last four games. During that stretch, the Steelers are yielding 9.8 fantasy points per game to running backs - as a whole. Murray is still an RB2 in fantasy, but if you're loaded at the position, it's not out of the question to consider someone else.

  • Posted: 11/6/2017 5:51pm ET

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray (knee) will be limited during practice this week, according to head coach Mike Mularkey.

Huddle Up: Murray probably will be able to play this week against Cincinnati Bengals, but owners should monitor the situation during the week. He struggled in Week 9 but can still be a No. 2 running back or a flex option in most leagues.

  • Posted: 11/6/2017 11:26am ET

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray (knee) appears to be passed his shoulder and hamstring issues, but head coach Mike Mularkey told reporters the veteran running back is now dealing with a knee injury.

Huddle Up: It's been a season to forget health-wise for Murray, who never healed fully from a preseason hamstring issue and has been injuring body parts ever since. Mularkey also said if Murray if 'effective, we'll allow him to continue to play.' The fact of the matter is he hasn't been effective for most of the season and especially lately, averaging 3.3 yards per carry or less in three straight games. It appears the Titans have no plans to change anything, making Murray a low-end flex option in most leagues.

  • Posted: 11/5/2017 7:20pm ET

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray ran nine times for 19 yards and caught two passes for 22 yards in a 23-20 win over the Baltimore Ravens in Week 9.

Huddle Up: Murray exited with a knee injury but later returned, and he ended up logging one more carry than Derrick Henry. Big games and big plays have eluded Murray this year, but he usually receives enough touches to be used as a low-end RB2.

  • Posted: 11/5/2017 11:14am ET

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray (knee) suffered a knee injury in Week 9 but was able to return after missing a few plays.

Huddle Up: Murray may be limited during the rest of the game depending on his knee but probably will not miss much time. He should be considered a low-end No. 2 running back most weeks.

  • Posted: 10/23/2017 12:23pm ET

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray (shoulder) is dealing with a bruised shoulder, according to head coach Mike Mularkey. A timetable for his return was not disclosed.

Huddle Up: The severity of the injury was not pinpointed, but Murray is no stranger to bumps and bruises. His practice status will need to be monitored closer than usual this week, but Murray and Derrick Henry will keep sharing carries either way. That is, as long as Murray is healthy enough to play.

  • Posted: 10/22/2017 1:56pm ET

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray rushed 18 times for 59 yards in Week 7 against the Cleveland Browns and he added three catches for 17 yards on four targets.

Huddle Up: Murray was a bit of a question mark coming in with a hamstring issue, but he powered through with Derrick Henry struggling with 1.0 yards per carry in this game. Murray will have two weeks to rest his bumps and bruises with a bye in Week 8.

  • Posted: 10/22/2017 9:31am ET

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray (hamstring) is active for Week 7's game against the Cleveland Browns.

Huddle Up: Murray has a very favorable matchup this afternoon versus the Browns. He will continue to split time in the backfield with RB Derrick Henry and should be viewed as a low-end RB1 or high-end RB2, with added value in PPR formats.

  • Posted: 10/22/2017 6:53am ET

The Tennessee Titans are hopeful that RB DeMarco Murray (hamstring) can play in Week 7's game against the Cleveland Browns.

Huddle Up: Murray was listed as questionable on the injury report and was a limited practice participant Friday, Oct. 20, after missing the two earlier sessions during the week. Assuming he is active, he should be viewed as a low-end RB1 or high-end RB2 due to the favorable matchup.

  • Posted: 10/20/2017 2:41pm ET

Updating a previous report, Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray (hamstring) was limited during practice Friday, Oct. 20, and is listed as questionable for Week 7.

Huddle Up: Murray may be a game-time decision this week, so owners will need to check the inactive list for his status. He will be a risky option because of the injury and could see a drop in his touches if he plays. Owners can consider him a No. 2 running back of a flex option if he is active.

  • Posted: 10/19/2017 6:08pm ET

Tennessee Titans RB Khalfani Muhammad will likely be signed from the practice squad if RB DeMarco Murray (hamstring) is unable to play against the Cleveland Browns in Week 7, head coach Mike Mularkey said Thursday, Oct. 19.

Huddle Up: The fact Mularkey has a backup plan in place is an indication that there is at least a chance Murray could miss the Week 7 contest. If he sits, Derrick Henry would become a solid RB2 option.

  • Posted: 10/19/2017 11:44am ET

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray (hamstring) did not practice Thursday, Oct. 19.

Huddle Up: Don't read too much into Murray's absences yet. If he practices tomorrow then he's likely to play this weekend. Murray will continue to split time with Derrick Henry but remains a low-end RB1 to high-end RB2 candidate with more value in PPR leagues.

  • Posted: 10/18/2017 2:16pm ET

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray (hamstring) did not practice Wednesday, Oct. 18.

Huddle Up: Head coach Mike Mularkey said earlier in the week that Murray was dealing with soreness, but he said the back is expected to be fine for Week 7.

  • Posted: 10/17/2017 7:21pm ET

Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Mularkey told reporters he liked the distribution of work in the backfield during the team's Week 6 win over the Indianapolis Colts. Derrick Henry rushed for 131 yards and a touchdown on 19 carries, while Murray gained 40 yards on 12 carries. Mularkey also said Henry is beginning to establish himself as a big key in the fourth quarter of games. 'That?s probably been the case of late, when we go into a four-minute. Henry's probably a little fresher from not taking a lot of snaps. ? But I really like how it has played out with percentages and how these guys (get along). I mean, the first guy down to congratulate (Derrick) on his (72-yard) touchdown was DeMarco Murray,' Mularkey said.

Huddle Up: Despite the disparity in Week 6, Murray is still the lead back in this offense. It's also worth noting Henry was having a mediocre day (59 yards on his first 18 carries) before his dash to the end zone. With that said, Murray refuses to take a game or two off to let his hamstring heal, so Henry may continue to see more work moving forward until that changes. Murray is a back-end RB2 at best at this point, while Henry is a high-upside flex option.

  • Posted: 10/17/2017 2:47pm ET

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray (hamstring) is dealing with hamstring tightness, but head coach Mike Mularkey believes Murray should be fine for Week 7.

Huddle Up: Murray seems to be ceding more carries to backfield mate Derrick Henry which has naturally caused his production to teeter off some. He has maintained a decent role in the passing game, however, and continues to be a quality RB2 in all formats.

  • Posted: 10/16/2017 9:01pm ET

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray churned out 40 yards on 12 carries and had a rushing touchdown in the team's Week 6 game Monday, Oct. 16, against the Indianapolis Colts. He also hauled in four receptions for 47 yards.

Huddle Up: It was a nice showing from Murray for his owners, but his usage is still a concern, as teammate Derrick Henry actually had seven more carries and more than triple the rushing yards as well. However, the former rushing champion is just too talented to keep on the bench, and he still generally gets enough work to warrant being started regularly in just about all leagues.

  • Posted: 10/8/2017 6:20pm ET

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray finished with 14 carries for 58 yards and four catches for 11 yards in a 16-10 loss to the Miami Dolphins in Week 5.

Huddle Up: Murray has now been held below 60 rushing yards in four of the five games this season, and he has scored just once. The good news is that he still saw a majority of the carries, and he should be in the RB2 conversation against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 6.

  • Posted: 10/1/2017 2:28pm ET

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray ran seven times for 31 yards Sunday, Oct. 1, in a 57-14 loss to the Houston Texans.

Huddle Up: Two things stand out here. First, it's never good when you have less rushing yards than your quarterback. Second, with QB Marcus Mariota hampered by a hamstring injury, he may need to miss time. If that's the case Murray could be bottled up.

  • Posted: 9/24/2017 7:03pm ET

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray finished with 14 carries for 115 yards, including a 75-yard touchdown run, in a 33-27 win over the Seattle Seahawks in Week 3.

Huddle Up: Murray was questionable coming into the game with a hamstring injury, but he ended up having his best performance of the year. Derrick Henry also saw 13 carries, but if Murray doesn't have any setbacks this week, the carries could swing more in his favor moving forward. Consider him a RB2 against the Houston Texans in Week 4.

  • Posted: 9/24/2017 11:46am ET

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray (hamstring) is officially active for the team's Week 3 game.

Huddle Up: Murray probably will share snaps with Derrick Henry during the game and could see limited carries because of the injuries. Murray will be a risky option for owners because of the injury and the matchup.

  • Posted: 9/23/2017 10:14pm ET

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray (hamstring) is 'more than likely' to play against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 3, a source said Saturday, Sept. 23.

Huddle Up: Even if Murray suits up, there is a good chance he will see limited snaps, and the matchup with Seattle is far from ideal. If you have to start one of Tennessee's backs, Derrick Henry is the better play.

  • Posted: 9/22/2017 2:47pm ET

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray (hamstring) practiced on a limited basis Friday, Sept. 22, and he is listed as questionable for Week 3 against the Seattle Seahawks.

Huddle Up: Murray was facing a tough matchup if he were at 100 percent, but it's especially difficult if he is a little banged up. Look for Derrick Henry to shoulder some of the lost against the Seahawks, and perhaps start if Murray is out or limited. The fantasy back of choice in Nashville this weekend appears to be Henry.

  • Posted: 9/22/2017 12:38pm ET

Tennessee Titans RB Derrick Henry is expected to get a 'significant workload' in Week 3 against the Seattle Seahawks, regardless of whether DeMarco Murray plays or not, according to ESPN's Cameron Wolfe. Murray returned to practice as a limited participant Friday, Sept. 22, running routes and catching passes during individual drills. While Murray showed some instances of acceleration as a runner and receiver during the practice, it was far from what he would be expected to do in game action, according to Wolfe.

Huddle Up: The Titans are handling this situation correctly, as there is no reason to push Murray through a hamstring injury, although having a talent like Henry on the roster makes it an easier decision. Henry is quite the luxury to fall back on when the reigning AFC rushing champion is not 100 percent and should be plugged into lineups as a RB2 despite the tough matchup.

  • Posted: 9/22/2017 10:05am ET

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray (hamstring) was able to practice Friday, Sept. 22, after not participating the previous two days. He will be listed as questionable on the Week 3 injury report, according to head coach Mike Mularkey.

Huddle Up: For the most part, Murray has not looked himself this season after leading the AFC in rushing last year. Owners who have some depth at running back should consider sitting Murray until he is able to produce something of note. That is unlikely to come this week against the Seattle Seahawks. At least for this week, Derrick Henry figures to lead the backfield in touches and figures to be the superior player.

  • Posted: 9/21/2017 3:15pm ET

Tennessee Titans RB DeMarco Murray (hamstring) did not participate in practice Thursday, Sept. 21.

Huddle Up: The Titans may consider keeping Murray out for at least one game so he can rest his injured hamstring, so owners should look for an update later in the week. Derrick Henry would receive a majority of the carries if Murray is ruled out and could be a starter for fantasy owners even though he will be facing a solid Seattle Seahawks defense.
