The Green Bay Press-Gazette reports Green Bay Packers WR Donald Driver (neck) practiced Friday, Nov. 6. He is listed as probable for Week 9 and will play.

The Huddle Take: Driver's been a great option this year so far but after the beating he took last week many were wondering what his status would be. At the moment he'll be starting, but it will remain to be seen whether or not he is able to handle a couple of good hits.

The Green Bay Press-Gazette reports Green Bay Packers WR Donald Driver (neck) did not participate in practice Thursday, Nov. 5. It is not known if he will be able to practice Friday, Nov. 6. His status for Week 9 is uncertain but likely will play if medically cleared.

The Huddle Take: We'll watch any Driver-related developments for you closely. If he can't play, then Greg Jennings could be in line for a huge day against the pass defense-challenged Buccaneers.

The Associated Press reports Green Bay Packers WR Donald Driver became the franchise's career receptions leader with a reception in the first quarter in Week 6. Driver finished the game with seven receptions for 107 yards. He now has 602 career receptions.

The Huddle Take: Driver just continues to make plays regardless of who throws him the ball. He is a solid wideout for Aaron Rodgers and should be considered for fantasy lineups in all scoring formats.

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports Green Bay Packers WR Donald Driver said during a radio interview that the only thing the Bears are missing is a receiving corps that can make plays down the field. 'They have the running back, they have the offensive line and they have a great defense. But you're going to have to need receivers to make plays down the field, and they don't have that right now,' Driver said.

The Huddle Take: Driver has a point; as much potential as Rashied Davis has, he's not exactly going to cause opposing defensive coordinators too many sleepless nights. Not at this point in his career, at least. And as explosive as Devin Hester has been returning kicks, that explosiveness hasn't translated to the wide receiver position. Maybe the arrival of Jay Cutler will change all of this, but as of now there is no bonafide defense-stretcher in Chicago.

Updating a previous report, Greg A. Bedard, of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, reports Jordan Woy, agent for Green Bay Packers WR Donald Driver, said via email that Driver's contract is not an issue. "Donald is training in Texas. It is not a mandatory camp and the Packers understand this," Woy said.

The Huddle Take: Driver still has two years left on his existing deal, but apparently it's just a case of a veteran opting to work out on his own rather than attend voluntary team workouts.

The Green Bay Press-Gazette reports Green Bay Packers WR Donald Driver (knee) suffered a bruised knee in the team's Week 16 game. His status for Week 17 is uncertain.

The Huddle Take: Driver was fairly impressive in Monday's loss to the Bears, but may be limited if he plays at all this week against the Lions. If he does play, consider it a solid start due to the opponent, but be mindful of the late week injury reports before starting him.

The Green Bay Press-Gazette, reports Green Bay Packers WR Donald Driver (knee, turf toe) was limited in practice Wednesday, Nov. 26, but he is likely to play in Week 13.

The Huddle Take: The veteran receiver Donald Driver remains a key part of the Packer offense and with him being limited with injury problems this season the Green Bay offense has been less effective at times. WR Greg Jennings has taken over the No. 1 wideout role for the team but look for Driver to continue to contribute as long as the injuries don't keep him off the field altogether. Driver is a solid No. 2 receiver for the rest of 2008.

The Green Bay Press-Gazette reports Green Bay Packers WR Donald Driver (knee) practiced Friday, Nov. 21, and is listed as probable for Week 12.

The Huddle Take: Good news for Driver owners hoping he can be a part of what looks like will be a shoot-out Monday night in New Orleans. However, keep in mind he's not only battling a knee, he's also dealing with turf toe. And more importantly, he'll have his father's beating, allegedly at the hands of Houston police, weighing heavily on his mind.

The Green Bay Press-Gazette reports Packers WR Donald Driver missed his second straight day of practice Thursday, Nov. 20, to rest his turf toe and tend to a family emergency. The duration of his absence is unknown, but he is expected to play Monday, Nov. 24.

The Huddle Take: In addition to the turf toe, Driver is dealing with the alleged beating of his father by Houston police. It sounds as if he'll be in the lineup Monday, but there's enough stuff on Driver's plate that you should at least have a backup plan if late word comes down he won't be available.

The Associated Press reports the family of Green Bay Packers WR Donald Driver claims Driver's father, Marvin Driver Jr., was beaten by police in Houston, causing him to be hospitalized. The family issued a statement saying Driver was stopped for outstanding traffic warrants and was to be taken to jail, but was beaten before getting there. He can communicate through notes and has described "the torture he went through," according to the family. Houston police issued a statement saying after the arrest, Marvin Driver Jr. was placed in the back of a patrol unit, and when he got to jail he was unresponsive and paramedics were called.

The Huddle Take: No indication yet on if Driver will head to Houston to be with his father or if this incident will impact Driver's playing status for this weekend.
