Carolina Panthers WR Torrey Smith (knee) practiced in full for the second straight day Friday, Nov. 30, and he was removed from the Week 13 injury report.

Huddle Up: Smith will be facing the 27th-ranked pass defense of the Buccaneers, a team which has allowed an NFL-worst 26 passing touchdowns. The veteran could use on, as he hasn't scored since Oct. 14 after missing four games, and he has just two touchdowns in seven games overall. Smith is only worth a look in the deepest of fantasy leagues at the moment.

Carolina Panthers WR Torrey Smith (knee) fully participated in practice Thursday, Nov. 29.

Huddle Up: Smith returned to the lineup last week but was not targeted during the game. He could see more work in the passing game this week against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers but can be benched if owners have better options available.

  • Posted: 11/22/2018 4:46pm ET

Carolina Panthers WR Torrey Smith (knee) was limited during practice Thursday, Nov. 22.

Huddle Up: Smith may be back in the lineup after missing the last few games because of his injury. Owners in most leagues should be able to find better options for their lineups and can avoid Smith.

  • Posted: 11/21/2018 3:54pm ET

Carolina Panthers WR Torrey Smith (knee) was limited during practice Wednesday, Nov. 21.

Huddle Up: Smith has missed the last month because of the injury but may be able to play this week. He would see a decent amount of targets if he plays in Week 12, but owners in most leagues should be able to find better options.

  • Posted: 11/13/2018 10:41am ET

Carolina Panthers WR Torrey Smith (knee) did not practice Tuesday, Nov. 13, but said his injured knee is feeling a lot stronger and has resumed running.

Huddle Up: Smith hasn't played since Week 7, and even when he does return, he'll be fighting for targets with the rest of Carolina's deep pass-catching corps and isn't usable in fantasy outside the deepest of leagues.

  • Posted: 11/5/2018 3:18pm ET

Carolina Panthers WR Torrey Smith (knee) did not participate in the team's walkthrough Monday, Nov. 5.

Huddle Up: Smith probably will miss another game because of his knee injury, so owners should look for other options to use in their lineups.

  • Posted: 10/31/2018 9:31am ET

Carolina Panthers WR Torrey Smith (knee) is out of practice Wednesday, Oct. 31.

Huddle Up: Smith's absence means more for DJ Moore's status as the rookie came alive last week with five grabs for 90 yards. Moore is a solid upside flex play against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this week. Smith is a weaker flex option if he goes.

  • Posted: 10/28/2018 9:25am ET

Carolina Panthers WR Torrey Smith (knee) is inactive for the team's Week 8 game against the Baltimore Ravens with a knee injury.

Huddle Up: Smith had been coming on with nine receptions for 104 yards and a TD over the last two games and had been startable in larger leagues, but fantasy GMs will need to find another option Sunday. In his absence, rookie D.J. Moore, Curtis Samuel and Jarius Wright will be asked to step up.

Carolina Panthers WR Torrey Smith (knee) on Friday, Oct. 26, was ruled out of the Week 8 game against the Baltimore Ravens with a knee injury.

Huddle Up: Smith had come on lately with nine catches tor 104 yards and a TD over the last two games, but he'll now sit for the first time this season. Head coach Ron Rivera said to expect an increased workload for wideouts D.J. Moore and Curtis Samuel in Smith's absence, but neither rates much more than deep-league flex consideration.

Carolina Panthers WR Torrey Smith (knee) is out of practice Wednesday, Oct. 24.

Huddle Up: Smith could be a flex option this week if he's able to suit up against the Baltimore Ravens.

  • Posted: 10/22/2018 8:41am ET

Carolina Panthers WR Torrey Smith (knee) will be checked out Monday, Oct. 22, after his knee swelled up from a hard hit. It's not believed to be structurally injured, according to head coach Ron Rivera.

Huddle Up: Smith has come alive in the last couple of weeks and is worth having as depth.

  • Posted: 10/21/2018 1:39pm ET

Carolina Panthers WR Torrey Smith ended up with four receptions for 61 yards on six targets in Week 7 against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Huddle Up: Smith was blanked in Week 5 against the Giants, but the veteran has bounced back with nine receptions and 94 yards with a touchdown over his past two outings. He might be a sneaky WR4 or flex option in Week 8 against the Baltimore Ravens, his former team.

  • Posted: 10/14/2018 1:25pm ET

Carolina Panthers WR Torrey Smith registered five grabs for 43 yards and a touchdown on five targets in Week 6 against the Washington Redskins and he had a two-point conversion reception.

Huddle Up: Smith is trying to hold off D.J. Moore for the No. 2 job behind Devin Funchess, and he might have gotten a reprieve in the battle with Moore putting the ball on the turf not once, but twice. For now, the veteran Smith is best used as a low-end WR4 in most fantasy leagues. He'll get a crack at his former team, the Philadelphia Eagles, in Week 7.

  • Posted: 9/16/2018 2:41pm ET

Carolina Panthers WR Torrey Smith hauled in three receptions for 33 yards and a touchdown on seven targets in the Week 2 loss against the Atlanta Falcons.

Huddle Up: Smith recorded his first touchdown in a Carolina uniform and he might not be done. With Greg Olsen (foot) on the mend, and really only Devin Funchess as a proven NFL receiver, Smith could see some additional targets going forward. The Panthers host the Bengals in Week 3.

  • Posted: 9/2/2018 8:47pm ET

Carolina Panthers WR Torrey Smith had the 'best camp of any receiver' on the roster, according to wide receivers coach Lance Taylor.

Huddle Up: Smith was invisible during preseason action, but his speed and Cam Newton's arm could combine to produce some big plays. Ted Ginn Jr. had his best years as the deep threat for the Carolina offense, and Smith should slide into the same role.

  • Posted: 3/14/2018 2:57pm ET

Updating a previous report, Philadelphia Eagles WR Torrey Smith was officially acquired by the Carolina Panthers Wednesday, March 14, in exchange for CB Daryl Worley.

Huddle Up: Smith should serve as a deep threat for the Panthers this season and will have some fantasy value because of his big-play ability. He could be a No. 3 or No. 4 fantasy receiver in 2018.

  • Posted: 3/1/2018 9:32pm ET

The Baltimore Ravens' shopping for a wide receiver would be 'very likely' to include Philadelphia Eagles WR Torrey Smith, if his option is declined by the club. A reunion between the two sides is being considered a 'very real possibility.'

Huddle Up: It's more likely than not that Smith becomes a cap-casualty in Philadelphia, so there's indeed a solid chance of this happening. It makes sense for both sides, too, as the Ravens could use some help at wide receiver, while Smith could use a change of scenery to reignite his career. In his three seasons since leaving Baltimore, the seven-year veteran has registered career lows across the board.

  • Posted: 2/24/2018 11:41am ET

Philadelphia Eagles WR Torrey Smith said he expects to be back with the Eagles next season even though the team would save $5 million in salary cap space if he is released.

Huddle Up: Smith finished the 2017 season with 430 yards and two touchdowns but may need to find a new team this offseason. He has some fantasy value because of his big-play potential but probably would only be a No. 4 or No. 5 receiver in most leagues.

  • Posted: 2/16/2018 6:32pm ET

Philadelphia Eagles WR Torrey Smith is unlikely to return to the team next season, according to Geoff Mosher of 97.5 The Fanatic.

Huddle Up: Smith was an afterthought in the Philadelphia passing game, and it's hard to imagine a scenario where he will have much fantasy value in 2018.

  • Posted: 1/21/2018 7:25pm ET

Philadelphia Eagles WR Torrey Smith caught five passes for 69 yards, including a 41-yard touchdown, in a 38-7 win over the Minnesota Vikings in the NFC Championship game.

Huddle Up: Smith broke free for a long score, but he's no more than a big-play dependent flier in fantasy circles at this point in his career.

  • Posted: 1/13/2018 5:58pm ET

Philadelphia Eagles WR Torrey Smith caught three passes for 39 yards in a 15-10 NFC divisional playoff win over the Atlanta Falcons.

Huddle Up: Smith had found his niche under Carson Wentz, and it looks like he might have bottomed out under Nick Foles. If Foles can spread the wealth around next week against a tough defense in New Orleans or Minnesota, Smith could see a few points for fantasy owners.

  • Posted: 12/25/2017 9:04pm ET

Philadelphia Eagles WR Torrey Smith finished with just one reception for five yards on five targets in Week 16 against the Oakland Raiders.

Huddle Up: Smith showed well with 100 yards in Week 14, but he has just three grabs for 22 yards on eight targets over his past two outings. If you scooped him off the waiver wire for the fantasy playoffs he obviously has paid no dividends.
