Philadelphia Eagles WR Torrey Smith was able to post just one catch for 11 yards on two targets in Week 9 against the Denver Broncos.

Huddle Up: Smith didn't do anything with the game on the line, didn't do anything in garbage time, etc. He simply cannot be trusted outside of the very deepest of fantasy leagues heading into Week 11 after the bye.

  • Posted: 10/23/2017 10:29pm ET

Philadelphia Eagles WR Torrey Smith did not record a single catch in the team's Week 7 win Monday, Oct. 23, opposite the Washington Redskins. He was targeted just once by QB Carson Wentz.

Huddle Up: Wow, that's a really bad sign for Smith's prospects moving forward, considering the Eagles managed to put up a season-high-tying 34 points on the scoreboard. It also shouldn't be that surprising since Smith had registered only one catch in three of the prior six games. He's declined significantly from what he once was and doesn't need to be owned outside the deepest of formats.

  • Posted: 10/8/2017 2:50pm ET

Philadelphia Eagles WR Torrey Smith caught three passes for 70 yards and one touchdown against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 5.

Huddle Up: Smith has averaged at least 16 yards per catch in three of the five games this season but has only be targeted seven times over the last two games. He has fantasy value because of his big-play potential is not a weekly starting option for owners.

  • Posted: 9/24/2017 4:29pm ET

Philadelphia Eagles WR Torrey Smith posted four receptions for 29 yards on five targets in the Week 3 game against the New York Giants.

Huddle Up: Smith had four receptions for the second consecutive week, but he has just 125 total receiving yards through three outings. He can only be trusted as a WR4 or flex play in fantasy leagues of 12 or more teams heading into Week 4 against the Chargers.

  • Posted: 9/24/2017 7:04am ET

Philadelphia Eagles WR Torrey Smith (illness) is expected to play in Week 3's game against the New York Giants.

Huddle Up: Smith was listed as questionable on the injury report and missed practice Friday, Sept. 22. However, the Giants have allowed the ninth-fewest passing yards in the league, so this is not a very favorable matchup for him.

  • Posted: 9/22/2017 1:14pm ET

Philadelphia Eagles WR Torrey Smith (illness) did not participate in practice Friday, Sept. 22, and is listed as questionable for Week 3.

Huddle Up: Smith could be a game-time decision, so owners will need to check the inactive list for his status for the game. He will be facing a solid New York Giants defense this week and could be avoided in most fantasy leagues.

  • Posted: 8/24/2017 7:49pm ET

Philadelphia Eagles WR Torrey Smith caught one pass for 50 yards and one touchdown against the Miami Dolphins Thursday, Aug. 24.

Huddle Up: Smith posted only 267 yards and three touchdowns last season but will have better numbers with the Eagles since he likely will be a starter this season. Smith will be a deep threat for the Eagles and could be a late-round option in drafts as a No. 5 receiver.

  • Posted: 8/2/2017 6:05am ET

Philadelphia Eagles WR Torrey Smith (back) returned to practice Wednesday, Aug. 2.

Huddle Up: Smith has some WR5 value in this offense as a deep threat.

  • Posted: 8/1/2017 5:42am ET

Philadelphia Eagles WR Torrey Smith (back) is out of practice Tuesday, Aug. 1, due to back spasms.

Huddle Up: Smith was an afterthought in fantasy last year, but he has some WR5 luster on this team.

  • Posted: 6/5/2017 4:16pm ET

Philadelphia Eagles WR Torrey Smith caught multiple deep throws from QB Carson Wentz during organized team activities Monday, June 5. Smith said he is still working on improving his chemistry with Wentz.

Huddle Up: Smith is coming off a disappointing 2016 season where he posted 267 yards and three touchdowns in 12 games. He should be more involved in the Eagles passing game and likely will be used as a deep threat. Owners should consider Smith as a No. 5 receiver in most fantasy leagues.

  • Posted: 5/27/2017 9:04pm ET

Philadelphia Eagles WR Torrey Smith will look more like the receiver he was with the Baltimore Ravens, according to beat writer Tim McManus.

Huddle Up: Smith still has big-play speed, and he is worth a look as a WR5 in case he does rebound in 2017.

  • Posted: 3/9/2017 8:15am ET

Free-agent WR Torrey Smith (49ers) has agreed to a three-year, $15 million deal with the Philadelphia Eagles Thursday, March 9.

Huddle Up: This actually could be an underrated move. The major question is whether the team trades Jordan Matthews or Nelson Agholor. Smith is a deep threat that could fit in well with the cast, and he has some bang for the WR5 buck.

  • Posted: 3/7/2017 9:40am ET

Updating previous reports, San Francisco 49ers WR Torrey Smith was released Tuesday, March 7.

Huddle Up: Smith was a bust in San Fran, and he's pretty one-dimensional. That dimension, however, could make for a nice slot receiver on a good team. He still has fantasy clout on the back end of receiving corps.

  • Posted: 2/17/2017 7:58pm ET

San Francisco 49ers WR Torrey Smith said he is excited for head coach Kyle Shanahan's offense because he 'tailors it to people's strengths.'

Huddle Up: Big plays were absent from San Francisco's offense last year, and Smith had arguably the worst season of his career. He looks like a WR5 heading into 2017.

  • Posted: 12/22/2016 6:43pm ET

San Francisco 49ers WR Torrey Smith (concussion) did not practice Thursday, Dec. 22.

Huddle Up: Smith has endured a miserable year, and even if he takes the field in Week 16, he shouldn't be starting in any format.

  • Posted: 12/16/2016 7:16pm ET

San Francisco 49ers WR Torrey Smith (concussion) did not practice Friday, Dec. 16, and has been ruled out for Week 15.

Huddle Up: Smith was having an awful year even when healthy. It's well past time to cut him loose.

  • Posted: 12/11/2016 3:28pm ET

San Francisco 49ers WR Torrey Smith (concussion) was carted off in the second half of the Week 14 game against the New York Jets. He hit his head hard on the field attempting a catch. He has been diagnosed with a concussion and will not return.

Huddle Up: With Smith on the shelf it will be Jeremy Kerley, Quinton Patton and Rod Streater handling the wideout targets the rest of the day. Smith finished without a catch on his only target.

  • Posted: 12/3/2016 5:49pm ET

San Francisco 49ers WR Torrey Smith said he doesn't think he has had a ball thrown to him on a go route all season but believes he can still be effective stretching the field.

Huddle Up: Smith has been an all-or-nothing fantasy play throughout his career, and he simply isn't worth owning when he isn't connecting on big plays.

  • Posted: 12/1/2016 6:20pm ET

San Francisco 49ers WR Torrey Smith (shoulder) was a full participant in practice Thursday, Dec. 1.

Huddle Up: Smith is suffering through the worst year of his career, and he doesn't need to be owned, let alone starting, in any format.

  • Posted: 11/27/2016 2:54pm ET

San Francisco 49ers WR Torrey Smith caught three passes for 24 yards and a touchdown in Week 12 against the Miami Dolphins.

Huddle Up: Smith has virtually no fantasy value at this point, and starting him in any traditional format is asking for it. Consider anything positive from him as gravy.

  • Posted: 11/27/2016 9:14am ET

San Francisco 49ers WR Torrey Smith (shoulder) is officially active for the team's Week 12 game.

Huddle Up: Smith should serve as the team's top receiver and will receive a decent amount of targets, but owners in most leagues should be able to find better options to use in their lineups.

  • Posted: 11/27/2016 7:26am ET

San Francisco 49ers WR Torrey Smith (shoulder) is expected to return to action in Week 12's game against the Miami Dolphins. However, he will take part in pregame warmups before a final decision is made.

Huddle Up: Smith has eclipsed the 50-yard receiving mark just twice in nine games this year and is experiencing the worst season of his career. He shouldn't be started in any fantasy format at this point.

  • Posted: 11/26/2016 6:17pm ET

San Francisco 49ers WR Torrey Smith (shoulder) said his shoulder is feeling 'way better,' and he feels refreshed physically and mentally after sitting out Week 11.

Huddle Up: Smith is suffering through the worst year of his career, and the speedy receiver has managed just one big play all year. He doesn't need to be owned in standard formats and isn't even worth taking a chance on in DFS games at this point.

  • Posted: 11/20/2016 12:21pm ET

San Francisco 49ers WR Torrey Smith (shoulder) has been declared inactive for the team's Week 11 game.

Huddle Up: Jeremy Kerley and Quinton Patton probably will receive most of the targets at wide receiver during the game, but neither player should be used in fantasy leagues.
