Huddle Up: Paul was a wide receiver in college and even returned kicks early in his NFL career, so staying bulked up has been an issue. He'll need to stay healthy and keep the weight on to thrive in his role as Jordan Reed's backup.

Huddle Up: Paul has performed well when given the opportunity, and given Jordan Reed's injury history the Redskins would do well to keep additional tight ends on the roster. However, his fantasy value at this juncture is primarily as a Reed handcuff on a larger roster.

Huddle Up: Another move or two could be in the offing, but in the meantime, Washington is counting on Jordan Reed more than ever. That, of course, is a risky proposition -- reality and fantasy -- as Reed has missed 12 of a possible 32 career regular-season games and has been hampered by a hamstring issue that caused him to miss the preseason opener and is threatening to keep him out of their contest as well.

Huddle Up: Paul was the backup plan if--when--Jordan Reed sustains his next injury. The Redskins love to throw to the tight end, but they're running out of warm bodies to fill the position.

Huddle Up: Awful tough turn of events for Paul, who had been having a strong preseason and was listed as the starting tight end on the team's first depth chart of the preseason. Now, his season is in jeopardy, leaving Washington dangerously short on TEs at the moment with Jordan Reed and Logan Paulsen sitting out Thursday's game.

Huddle Up: Paul, who's somewhat surprisingly listed atop the first D.C. TE depth chart, left practice early Monday with the injury, but it sounds like he'll be fine as he tries to hold off Jordan Reed and Logan Paulsen for the team's starting gig.

Huddle Up: Paul started seven games last season and finished with a career-high 39 receptions for 507 yards and a TD. He's currently running ahead of the more heralded (and injury-prone) Jordan Reed, but let's see if he can hold on to the gig this preseason.
