The Seattle Times, reports unrestricted free-agent RB Shaun Alexander (Redskins) has been working out and hopes to play this season.
The Huddle Take: Alexander sure has fallen far from his MVP season with Seattle just a few years ago. Regardless if he signs with another team or not, Alexander should not be considered worthy of a roster spot on fantasy teams unless he somehow lands a full time starting role which appears unlikely.

Redskins.com, reports free-agent RB Shaun Alexander (Redskins) said he would welcome a return to the Washington Redskins in 2009. Alexander said, "Oh, I would definitely like to come back and play here and help this team win."
The Huddle Take: The former NFL MVP has fallen far from his glory days in Seattle but still appears to have the desire to continue to play. Fantasy owners should take note where Alexander may land but keep in mind that he is not the same runner he used to be and is only worth a look as a backup roster player on fantasy teams if and when he finds a new team.

The Huddle Take: That didn't last long. One of the most astounding free-falls in NFL history continues. It's hard to envision the former NFL MVP getting anymore opportunities this season, but it's not entirely out of the question, either.
