Baltimore Ravens LB Courtney Upshaw (shoulder) returned to practice Tuesday, Aug. 7. He is still less than 100 percent healthy. It is doubtful he will play Thursday, Aug. 9.

Huddle Up: Returning to workouts is a positive step, but this isn't the preseason start Upshaw and the Ravens envisioned when the former Alabama standout was selected with the 35th-overall pick in April's draft. Upshaw is being counted on as a starter on Baltimore's formidiable but aging defense, and rookies need all the exhibition game reps they can get.
