Jets Confidential reports New York Jets WR Laveranues Coles (leg) was downgraded from probable to questionable Friday, Dec. 5, and he finished with just one catch in Week 14. His leg is clearly an issue.

The Huddle Take: Coles says the issue is Favre, the team says the issue is Coles' leg. Either way he has stunk on ice the past couple of weeks, so bad that he'd actually probably put up more points off the field than on it in most cases. Don't expect much more out of Coles this year.

The San Francisco Chronicle reports New York Jets WR Laveranues Coles sounded almost bitter during a conference call about having QB Brett Favre in New York. 'We're in a quarterback-driven offense where he pretty much has control of everything, where before the offense was pretty much driven through me. ... I just kind of become a role player instead of a guy that teams had to prepare for,' Coles said regarding changes in the offense. Coles also said that 'there is no level of importance' when they do throw the ball, 'where at one point it used to be I was the guy.' Finally, he said Favre's arm is not even as strong as the Jugs machine and that 'most of the guys who deserve the credit' for their turnaround aren't getting it.

The Huddle Take: Ah...the "I" in TEAM. Gotta love it when you see this stuff. Another ego at the wide receiver position. This could help explain the overall lousy season Coles has been having. Will it amount to a good week ala Terrell Owens' rant a couple weeks back? Somehow we think it unlikely, but one never knows. As for Favre's arm strength, conventional wisdom would say that Coles is full of it.

Jets Confidential reports New York Jets WR Laveranues Coles (hamstring) was limited during practice Friday, Nov. 21. He is listed as probable for the team's Week 12 game and is expected to play.

The Huddle Take: So what else is new since Coles is on the injury report every week, plays on Sunday and gets fantasy owners very little fantasy production. With quarterback Brett Favre obviously not looking in Coles direction on a consistent basis the Jets wideout should be considered no better than a No. 3 receiver for the present time.

Jets Confidential reports New York Jets WR Laveranues Coles' (hamstring) injury is a non-issue and he will play in Week 12.

The Huddle Take: The injury's a non-issue, and Coles has been a non-factor most of the season. He'll play, but he'll have a tough matchup against Tennessee's secondary.

New York Jets WR Laveranues Coles (concussion) said he participated in practice Friday, Oct. 24.

The Huddle Take: Coles has suffered multiple concussions in recent seasons, so another one is cause for concern. But at the same time, he had enough presence of mind after the one he suffered last week against Oakland to make a "throw the flag" motion to HC Eric Mangini, because on that play it was somewhat questionable whether or not he had caught the ball. He even came back into the game just a few plays later. That's a long-winded way of saying there's a very good chance he'll play against the Chiefs. But, as always, make sure you check with us before making your final roster determination.

Jets Confidential reports New York Jets WR Laveranues Coles (hamstring, concussion) is unlikely to play Week 8. WR Chansi Stuckey will start in his place.

The Huddle Take: Coles has been a consistent performer so far during the 2008 season and has built nice rapport with starting quarterback Brett Favre after a rocky start. With Coles out of action in Week 8, Stuckey should get plenty of opportunities as the Jets host Kansas City.

Jets Confidential reports New York Jets WR Laveranues Coles (hamstring) played Week 7 but had trouble getting separation. His hamstring may be bothering him a little bit.

The Huddle Take: Coles has finally gotten on the same page as Brett Favre, so owners really don't want him missing time, but at the moment expect him to play through. While it will limit him, he still is a viable mid tier start. Don't expect big numbers, but enough to warrant a bye week start if necessary.

Jets Confidential reports New York Jets WR Laveranues Coles (hamstring) played in the team's Week 6 game. He will continue to play with his hamstring injury.

The Huddle Take: Coles had a decent game with 64 yards receiving, so the hamstring couldn't have been too much of an issue. However, those injuries tend to worsen quickly without rest, so hold your breath if you start him. Concerns aside, he is worth starting against Oakland this week.

Jets Confidential reports New York Jets WR Laveranues Coles (hamstring) was limited during practice Thursday, Oct. 9. He will start in the team's Week 6 game.

The Huddle Take: Coles should be fine. He should also be in your starting lineup against the Bengals if you have him. He seems to have established a strong rapport with Brett Favre, and big numbers are looking like a good possibility this week.

JetsConfidential.com reports New York Jets WR Laveranues Coles (hamstring) was limited in practice Wednesday, Oct. 8, and he will start Week 6. It appears he is close to 100 percent.

The Huddle Take: Coles takes lots of Wednesdays off during the season, but he shows up on Sundays. The news that he may be close to 100 percent also bodes well; after all, if he can score three touchdowns at, say, 80 percent, could he get four when he's full-go?
