Denver Broncos WR Darrell Jackson (ankle) is practicing through some discomfort. He said he will be ready for Week 1 and will probably start.
The Huddle Take: Jackson will look to get the starting nod in Denver opposite rookie Eddie Royal in Week 1. With No. 1 receiver Brandon Marshall out of action for the first game on suspension, fantasy owners may want to consider other options in light of the fact that Jackson will likely not be 100% due to the ankle injury. Jackson and Royal should be considered No. 3 receivers at best for fantasy teams at the present time.

The Associated Press reports Denver Broncos WR Darrell Jackson is competing with WR Keary Colbert and WR Samie Parker for one of the team's starting wide receiver spots.
The Huddle Take: Jackson, Colbert and Parker are all disappointments who are battling to save their careers. This will not only be one of the most spirited position competitions in all the league, the winner will be someone worth serious consideration for your fantasy roster. With the uncertainty surrounding No. 1 wideout Brandon Marshall, whoever wins this fight has a good chance at being a substantial contributor this season.

Darrell Jackson signed a one-year contract worth $1.5 million with the Denver Broncos and becomes one of a burgeoning crew of new receivers. The Broncos have now signed Jackson, Keary Colbert and Samie Parker to replace Javon Walker.
The Huddle Take: With any luck, the three new recievers can combine for as much potential as Walker brought to the team. Unfortunately, it won't be hard for them to exceed Walker's numbers from 2007.

Shortly after signing WR Bryant Johnson from the Arizona Cardinals, the San Francisco 49ers have released veteran WR Darrell Jackson. "I always had a great deal of respect for Darrell," coach Mike Nolan said. "I appreciated his dedication and work ethic during his season with the 49ers. He always had a positive attitude every day he came to work. While we are going in a different direction, I know he can still produce and be an asset to an NFL team this year."
The Huddle Take: The 49ers appear to be shaking up their lackluster receiving corp from last season and will currently have Bryant Johnson, Arnaz Battle and Issac Bruce as their top options heading into the preseason. Expect more additions as the 49ers work desperately to find receivers that can stretch the field and take the pressure off of star running back Frank Gore.
