Detroit Lions TE Eric Ebron (hamstring) was limited in practice Friday, Nov. 7, and is listed as doubtful for Week 10 against the Miami Dolphins.

Huddle Up: Even coming off the bye, it's looking very much like the rookie TE will miss a third straight game, meaning Brandon Pettigrew will serve as the team's primary tight end.

Updating a previous report, Detroit Lions TE Eric Ebron (hamstring) officially didn't practice Wednesday, Nov. 5.

Huddle Up: Definitely not good news with Ebron having missed the Lions' last two games and still unable to practice after a bye week, but see what the next two days have in store for the rookie.

Detroit Lions TE Eric Ebron (hamstring) is likely out for Week 8, according to head coach Jim Caldwell. Ebron missed practice again Friday, Oct. 24.

Huddle Up: Ebron is missing out on a great opportunity to establish himself as the Lions' red zone alternative to Calvin Johnson. His injury also leaves the team short on tight ends, as Joseph Fauria is likely out and Brandon Pettigrew a game-time decision at best.

Detroit Lions TE Eric Ebron (hamstring) is out of practice Wednesday, Oct. 22.

Huddle Up: See if the rookie can get back on the practice field over the next 2 days; if not, he's in real danger of missing his second straight game.

Detroit Lions TE Eric Ebron (hamstring) missed his second straight day of practice Friday, Oct. 17, after tweaking his hamstring in practice Wednesday, Oct. 15. 'He's had a similar issue before,' head coach Jim Caldwell said of Ebron. 'It's just a matter of how quickly he's going to be able to rebound. So the doctors are still working with him and it's going to be day-to-day. He hasn't practiced since Wednesday. So hopefully he'll get back soon.' If Ebron doesn't play, the team may call up TE Jordan Thompson from the practice squad. TE Brandon Pettigrew is the team's only healthy tight end currently on roster.

Huddle Up: Injuries that crop up in the middle of the week aren't good news, and as it looks right now, expect the rookie TE to be missing in action Sunday against the Saints.

Detroit Lions TE Eric Ebron (hamstring) was downgraded Thursday, Oct. 16 and didn't participate in practice.

Huddle Up: The rookie, who got in limited work Wednesday, is headed in the wrong direction 3 days before kickoff. If he can't show some progress Friday, start lining up another TE option for Week 7.

Detroit Lions TE Eric Ebron has struggled at blocking in training camp.

Huddle Up: The Lions didn't draft Ebron to block, but it's still something he needs to be able to do to get and stay on the field on a regular basis. Pile this on top of the dropsies Ebron battled earlier in camp and the Lions' first-round pick is doing nothing to suggest he'll buck the trend of first-round tight ends struggling in their initial NFL season.

Detroit Lions TE Eric Ebron (undisclosed) is day to day with an undisclosed injury, and he might miss the team's preseason opener Saturday, Aug. 9, against the Cleveland Browns. 'He has an injury,' head coach Jim Caldwell said Wednesday, Aug. 6. 'We'll keep him out a couple days and see how he does.'

Huddle Up: Doesn't sound like the Lions' top rookie will see the field this weekend, which is unfortunate as fantasy owners would love to see where he fits into Detroit's passing game. More importantly, Ebron needs to get healthy and keep getting reps with the first team so we can get an extended look at him in the third preseason game.

Detroit Lions TE Eric Ebron said he wants his position to be known as a "hybrid" or "joker," and not a tight end. "I believe we should start either being called a hybrid or joker," Ebron said. "I think the 'tight end' word or name is traditional, but it's overplayed. It's overplayed into what people assume a tight end is."

Huddle Up: See what you started, Jimmy Graham? Ebron may be a rookie but he's certainly knows his football history, and the 10th overall pick has the tools to become the next "hybrid" TE/WR threat.

Updating a previous report, Detroit Lions first-round selection TE Eric Ebron's four-year contract is worth $12.249 million guaranteed, with a $7.228 million signing bonus, according to a source. Ebron will receive roster bonuses of $200,000 (2015), $300,000 (2016) and $500,000 (2017) if he attends training camp.

Huddle Up: Not a bad chunk of change for the guy Detroit hopes can become a suitable wingman for Calvin Johnson in their pass-happy offense.
