New York Jets QB Ryan Fitzpatrick completed 20 of his 30 pass attempts for 210 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions in the Week 17 game against the Buffalo Bills in what is expected to be his final game with the team.

Huddle Up: Fitzpatrick had a QB rating over 100 just four times, and one of those games was in Week 17. He ended up throwing 12 TDs with 17 INTs in 2016, and is likely to be a backup if he latches on with another organization in 2017. As such, his fantasy value is at its nadir.

  • Posted: 12/28/2016 8:43pm ET

New York Jets QB Ryan Fitzpatrick indicated Wednesday, Dec. 28, that he doesn't expect to be back with the team in 2017. His contract voids after the Super Bowl, but he doesn't expect to return based on the way he has played.

Huddle Up: Fitzpatrick has passed for 2,500 yards and 10 touchdowns, but also 17 interceptions in 13 games. His 55.8 completion percentage is also a career low. It's uncertain where Fitzpatrick lands in 2017, if at all, but if he does find a job it will likely be in a backup capacity.

  • Posted: 12/27/2016 10:54am ET

New York Jets QB Ryan Fitzpatrick has been named the starter for Week 17 against the Buffalo Bills.

Huddle Up: Despite having absolutely no reason to play a quarterback in Fitzpatrick that will not be on the roster in 2017, the Jets continue to show they have no confidence in rookie Christian Hackenberg by refusing to play him in a meaningless game. Fitzpatrick is not worth a start in fantasy this week and will be looking for work this spring.

  • Posted: 12/17/2016 8:01pm ET

New York Jets QB Bryce Petty (back) was helped off the field against the Miami Dolphins Saturday, Dec. 17, after being sandwiched by two defenders. He is questionable to return and was replaced by QB Ryan Fitzpatrick.

Huddle Up: The Jets were in the process of being blown out when Petty went down, so there is a good chance he will spend the rest of the night on the sidelines. Prior to the injury, Petty didn't do anything to grab the attention of fantasy owners.

  • Posted: 12/5/2016 9:48pm ET

New York Jets QB Ryan Fitzpatrick was informed by head coach Todd Bowles Monday, Dec. 5, that QB Bryce Petty will be the starting quarterback for the final four games of the regular season. 'I didn't get it done,' Fitzpatrick said.

Huddle Up: Fitzpatrick was a train wreck in most of his starts, turning the ball over frequently. He can be safely dropped in all deeper fantasy leagues if you hadn't done so already.

  • Posted: 12/5/2016 7:18pm ET

New York Jets QB Ryan Fitzpatrick was benched to start the second half of the Week 13 game against the Indianapolis Colts Monday, Dec. 5. Fitzpatrick completed five of his 12 pass attempts for 81 yards, no touchdowns and one interception while running twice for three yards.

Huddle Up: Fitzpatrick left with the score 31-3 in favor of the Colts. The fans cheered the move by head coach Todd Bowles, although at least check Fitzpatrick wasn't missing tackles and getting beaten in coverage on defense.

  • Posted: 12/1/2016 8:53pm ET

New York Jets QB Ryan Fitzpatrick (knee) was a full participant in practice Thursday, Dec. 1.

Huddle Up: Fitzpatrick is coming off his first multi-touchdown game since Week 1, and he could be a sneaky starting option in DFS formats against the Colts in Week 13.

  • Posted: 11/28/2016 5:32am ET

New York Jets QB Ryan Fitzpatrick was 22-for-32 for 269 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions in a 22-17 loss to the New England Patriots Sunday, Nov. 27.

Huddle Up: It was one of his better games of the season, but he'll be a QB2 option against the Indianapolis Colts next week.

  • Posted: 11/16/2016 7:10pm ET

Updating a previous report, the New York Jets have not named QB Ryan Fitzpatrick or Bryce Petty as their starting quarterback for Week 11, and general manager Mike Maccagnan said Wednesday, Nov. 16, that head coach Todd Bowles will have 'final say' on the identity of the starting quarterback for the rest of the season.

Huddle Up: Fitzpatrick has been a train wreck and turnover machine, and Petty and the Jets offense was listless in their 9-6 loss to the Rams in his first NFL start. Neither is worthy of any fantasy consideration outside of formats that use two starting signal callers.

  • Posted: 11/13/2016 9:06am ET

New York Jets QB Ryan Fitzpatrick (knee) is active for Week 10's game against the Los Angeles Rams as the backup to QB Bryce Petty.

Huddle Up: Fitzpatrick split first-team reps with Petty during practice throughout the week and was listed as questionable on the injury report. However, neither quarterback is worthy of consideration as a viable fantasy option.

  • Posted: 11/11/2016 8:29pm ET

New York Jets QB Bryce Petty split first-team reps with QB Ryan Fitzpatrick (knee) during practice this week.

Huddle Up: Petty will start against the Rams in Week 10 if Fitzpatrick can't go, but he would be nothing more than a DFS dart throw.

  • Posted: 11/11/2016 2:47pm ET

New York Jets QB Ryan Fitzpatrick (knee) was able to practice on a limited basis Friday, Nov. 11, and he is listed as questionable for the Week 10 game against the Los Angeles Rams. 'He's getting better than he was,' head coach Todd Bowles said. 'I still have to see him work out Sunday to make that decision.' If Fitzpatrick is unable to play, QB Bryce Petty would make his first NFL start.

Huddle Up: Fitzpatrick is a risky fantasy play, even if he is able to play, as he has been a turnover machine. The Rams rank ninth against the pass, allowing just 232.2 yards per game with four INTs and 15 sacks. Avoid Fitzpatrick unless you're absolutely desperate.

  • Posted: 11/8/2016 9:33am ET

New York Jets QB Ryan Fitzpatrick (shoulder) is expected to play in Week 10 against the Los Angeles Rams despite spraining his left MCL in a Week 9 loss to the Miami Dolphins, according to a source. Bryce Petty will draw the start if Fitzpatrick cannot go.

Huddle Up: Not only are the Jets sticking with a quarterback that has done virtually nothing all season, but they are giving themselves less time to evaluate 2015 fourth-round pick. Perhaps New York will make the change at quarterback following its Week 11 bye. At any rate, Fitzpatrick at far less than 100 percent is a no-go in fantasy and makes the Rams defense/special teams unit one of the best plays for the upcoming week.

  • Posted: 11/7/2016 8:30am ET

Updating previous reports, New York Jets QB Ryan Fitzpatrick (knee) suffered a sprained medial collateral ligament in his knee during the Week 9 game, according to a source. The injury isn't believed to be serious.

Huddle Up: Fitzpatrick wasn't a real good choice to use against the Los Angeles Rams in Week 10, and the injury, even if he plays, makes him borderline unusable.

  • Posted: 11/6/2016 6:53pm ET

New York Jets QB Ryan Fitzpatrick (knee) completed 17 of his 28 pass attempts for 193 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions. He also ran three times for 26 yards. Fitzpatrick suffered a knee injury and was replaced briefly by QB Bryce Petty.

Huddle Up: Fitzpatrick continues to make plenty of mistakes, and he has struggled with turnovers all season. He simply cannot be trusted in fantasy leagues right now.

  • Posted: 11/6/2016 12:58pm ET

New York Jets QB Ryan Fitzpatrick (knee) left the team's Week 9 game because of a knee injury but was able to return.

Huddle Up: Owners should see if there is any update on his status after the game but it appears like he will be fine. He has not been great since regaining his starting job and should be avoided in all leagues.

  • Posted: 10/30/2016 7:04pm ET

New York Jets QB Ryan Fitzpatrick completed 16 of his 34 pass attempts for 228 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions in the Week 8 game against the Cleveland Browns. He also rushed four times for 13 yards.

Huddle Up: Fitzpatrick failed to take care of the football in his first stint as starter, and that's what cost him a job. He is back as starter and so far, so good not turning it over. Still, he is more of a QB2 in most fantasy formats going forward.

  • Posted: 10/26/2016 9:19pm ET

New York Jets QB Ryan Fitzpatrick will face the Cleveland Browns in Week 8 with QB Geno Smith (knee) out for the season. Fitzpatrick gets a chance to shred a Browns pass defense allowing 285.7 yards per game through the air, ranking 29th in the NFL. They are also tied for the league lead with 18 pass touchdowns allowing with an AFC-high 29 pass plays of 20 or more yards.

Huddle Up: Fitzpatrick has been a turnover machine, but the Browns have managed just six interceptions in seven games. If ever there was a week to stream Fitzpatrick, Week 8 is the time. He is also a sensible DFS option if you want to save salary to spread across other positions.

  • Posted: 10/23/2016 3:02pm ET

New York Jets QB Ryan Fitzpatrick went 9-for-14 for 120 yards and one touchdown against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 7. Fitzpatrick entered the game when QB Geno Smith (knee) left with an injury.

Huddle Up: Fitzpatrick may have his starting job back if Smith is sidelined for an extended period of time. He should be considered a No. 2 quarterback at this point.

  • Posted: 10/19/2016 8:29am ET

New York Jets QB Ryan Fitzpatrick has lost the starting quarterback job Wednesday, Oct. 19, according to league sources.

Huddle Up: With the Jets' season likely in shambles, it's probably Geno Smith's job the rest of the way, barring injury. Fitzpatrick can be released in most formats.

  • Posted: 10/17/2016 9:27pm ET

Updating a previous report, New York Jets QB Ryan Fitzpatrick is expected to start in Week 7 against the Baltimore Ravens. 'Fitz will be back next week,' head coach Todd Bowles said Monday, Oct. 17. 'The game was 28-3. There was eight minutes left in the game. We weren't doing anything else. I just wanted to get (QB Geno Smith) some reps.'

Huddle Up: Fitzpatrick has been a disaster and turnover machine for the Jets. Even if he hangs onto his starting job for a while, at this point he is only worth a look in fantasy leagues which require two starting quarterbacks.

  • Posted: 10/17/2016 8:19pm ET

New York Jets QB Ryan Fitzpatrick was benched early in the fourth quarter of the Week 6 game against the Arizona Cardinals Monday, Oct. 17, with his team trailing 28-3. Fitzpatrick completed 16 of his 30 pass attempts for 174 yards, no touchdowns and one interception. QB Geno Smith replaced him.

Huddle Up: Fitzpatrick has been a turnover machine, and the Jets offense has been anemic in recent weeks with Fitz under center. Head coach Todd Bowles is looking for a spark, and if Smith gives them one it might signal the end of Fitzpatrick's fantasy usefulness even in the deepest of formats.

  • Posted: 10/9/2016 1:15pm ET

New York Jets QB Ryan Fitzpatrick went 25-for-38 for 255 yards and one touchdown against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 5.

Huddle Up: Fitzpatrick bounced back from a few ugly performances but was held to only one touchdown this week. He is scheduled to face the Arizona Cardinals next week and may not be a great starting option for fantasy owners.

  • Posted: 10/3/2016 2:06pm ET

New York Jets QB Ryan Fitzpatrick will not be benched despite his recent struggles, according to head coach Todd Bowles.

Huddle Up: Fitzpatrick will look to wake up from his nightmare next week after throwing one touchdown and nine interceptions over the last two games. His matchup in Week 5 is a little better against the Pittsburgh Steelers, but he's just too big of a risk right now to consider starting.

  • Posted: 10/2/2016 6:28pm ET

New York Jets QB Ryan Fitzpatrick completed 23 of his 41 pass attempts for 261 yards, one touchdown and three interceptions in the Week 4 game against the Seattle Seahawks.

Huddle Up: Fitzpatrick has been picked off nine times over the past two games and might be skating on thin ice as far as his starting job is concerned. It wouldn't be shocking to see the team move Geno Smith into the starting lineup after another ugly performance.

  • Posted: 9/25/2016 9:04pm ET

New York Jets QB Ryan Fitzpatrick completed 20 of his 44 pass attempts for 188 yards and an 18.2 QB rating while tossing a career-worst six interceptions in Week 3 against the Kansas City Chiefs. 'The trust is the same,' head coach Todd Bowles said Sunday, Sept. 25. 'He had a bad day at the office. Last week, he had a great day at the office.'

Huddle Up: Fitzpatrick's job is secure for now, but he can ill-afford another ugly outing like this. The Jets face another difficult matchup against a good Seahawks defense in Week 4, so if you normally depend upon Fitz for fantasy purposes it is a good idea to go another way.

  • Posted: 9/22/2016 4:18pm ET

New York Jets QB Ryan Fitzpatrick was named the AFC Offensive Player of the Week for Week 2 after completing 24 of 34 passes for 374 yards and a touchdown in the team's win over the Buffalo Bills.

Huddle Up: After a pedestrian season opener opposite the Cincinnati Bengals, Fitzpatrick churned out a big-time outing to get the Jets to 1-1 on the year. Of course, owners shouldn't expect this type of production from Fitz on a regular basis, but as shown last season in his debut campaign in New York, he is capable of providing big numbers here and there.

  • Posted: 9/15/2016 9:19pm ET

New York Jets QB Ryan Fitzpatrick completed 24 of his 34 passes for 374 yards and a touchdown and ran five times for 21 yards in a 37-31 win over the Buffalo Bills Thursday, Sept. 15.

Huddle Up: The Jets have legitimate weapons on offense, and after his career year in 2015, Fitzpatrick still looks like a viable QB1 in 12-team leagues.

  • Posted: 9/14/2016 8:02pm ET

New York Jets QB Ryan Fitzpatrick has struggled against defenses led by Buffalo Bills head coach Rex Ryan, either as head coach or defensive coordinator. Fitzpatrick is 1-8 in nine games as a starter, throwing for 166.0 yards per game with 16 touchdowns, 12 interceptions and a completion percentage of just 47.0 in 11 games.

Huddle Up: A difficult defensive matchup coupled with a short week makes Fitzpatrick a very risky fantasy play in Week 2.

  • Posted: 9/8/2016 5:37pm ET

New York Jets QB Ryan Fitzpatrick said he thinks he is a better player than he was last year, and he spent the offseason focusing on improving his third-down and red-zone efficiency.

Huddle Up: Fitzpatrick is coming off a great season, and a repeat performance isn't out of the question with one of the best receiver tandems at his disposal. Consider him a high-end QB2.

  • Posted: 8/7/2016 12:55pm ET

New York Jets QB Ryan Fitzpatrick said he is feeling good even though he did not participate in any offseason workouts with the team.

Huddle Up: Hey, Fitzpatrick is 33 and has needed some time to get rid of his sea legs after signing on the eve of camp. He's a QB2 who can post some big weeks with his WR duo of Decker and Marshall.

  • Posted: 7/28/2016 7:59pm ET

New York Jets QB Ryan Fitzpatrick will be the starting quarterback in 2016, according to head coach Todd Bowles. Fitzpatrick worked with the first team on the first day of training camp Thursday, July 28.

Huddle Up: All we were waiting for is the Jets and the QB to end their protracted contract squabble, and now that it's settled, it's good news for the fantasy values of WRs Brandon Marshall and Eric Decker in particular.

  • Posted: 7/27/2016 9:32pm ET

Free-agent QB Ryan Fitzpatrick (Jets) agreed to terms on a one-year deal with the New York Jets Wednesday, July 27, worth $12 million. Fitzpatrick can earn an additional $3 million based on the team's performance.

Huddle Up: Great news for the entire Jets offense but in particular for Brandon Marshall and Eric Decker who combined for 189 catches for 2529 yards and 26 touchdowns. The second year for OC Chan Gailey's offense should be just as good - and possibly better with a returning Fitzpatrick.

  • Posted: 7/27/2016 2:52pm ET

Updating an ongoing story, free-agent QB Ryan Fitzpatrick (Jets) is believed to be close to ending his impasse with the New York Jets, according to some that know him well.

Huddle Up: The fantasy fortunes of Eric Decker and Brandon Marshall are running on the outcome of this impasse. Fitzpatrick is expected to sign at some point but until he does there is risk with the rest of this offense.

  • Posted: 7/19/2016 4:17pm ET

It looks as though the New York Jets may wait to view the practice repetitions of QB Geno Smith in training camp before there is more movement in talks with free-agent QB Ryan Fitzpatrick (Jets), according to sources.

Huddle Up: That would be an absolutely awesome development for Fitzpatrick's keeper-league owners and also those who own or are considering drafting the Jets' main WRs, Brandon Marshall and Eric Decker.

  • Posted: 7/12/2016 1:22pm ET

Free-agent QB Ryan Fitzpatrick (Jets) has experienced no progress in contract talks with the New York Jets. Time may be running out since training camp felt like a deadline to get a deal done.

Huddle Up: Hard to believe that the QB and the Jets haven't found common ground with camp a little more than 2 weeks away, and that's not good fantasy news for Eric Decker and Brandon Marshall.

  • Posted: 6/15/2016 9:42am ET

Free-agent QB Ryan Fitzpatrick (Jets) and the New York Jets do not have a 'drop-dead deadline' to get a deal done, according to head coach Todd Bowles. It was reported Monday, June 13, that there had been no progress in contract talks with Fitzpatrick.

Huddle Up: Today's Fitzpatrick/Jets news, same as yesterday's Fitzpatrick/Jets news in that there is no new Fitzpatrick/Jets news. Same time tomorrow, everybody?

  • Posted: 6/13/2016 11:04am ET

Free-agent QB Ryan Fitzpatrick (Jets) hasn't made progress on contract talks with the New York Jets, as of Monday, June 13. It's unknown if something will get done before training camp.

Huddle Up: It's been a while since we had a "no news" update on Fitzpatrick and the Jets... so here you go.

  • Posted: 6/2/2016 11:10am ET

New York Jets QB Ryan Fitzpatrick is prepared to end his contract stalemate by informing the club he will take a one-year, $12 million guaranteed deal for the 2016 season, a source said Wednesday, June 1. It is the same money with the same guarantee the Jets are offering in the first year of their frontloaded three-year, $24 million proposal that has backup money in the second and third year. If the Jets were to agree to a one-year deal, it would be a $12 million cap hit, and they would need to clear $8.9 million.

Huddle Up: Like your morning coffee, here's your morning "no news yet" update on Fitzpatrick. It appears the two sides are inching closer, but they can certainly string this along for another couple of weeks--months?--before anything actually happens.

  • Posted: 5/31/2016 4:11pm ET

Free-agent QB Ryan Fitzpatrick (Jets) could spurn the New York Jets to take less money for another team on principle alone, according to team sources. The Jets no longer believe that re-signing Fitzpatrick is inevitable after their contract offer terms became public this weekend.

Huddle Up: It's hard to figure which team that would be with OTAs already under way across the league, but it's really the only leverage Fitzpatrick has at this point.

  • Posted: 5/29/2016 9:06pm ET

Free-agent QB Ryan Fitzpatrick (Jets) has received a three-year offer from the New York Jets worth $24 million, according to sources. Fitzpatrick would receive $12 million in the first year of the deal and $6 million in the other two seasons.

Huddle Up: It's certainly not break-the-bank money, but it's definitely a step closer to getting the two sides together in what still seems to be an inevitable re-signing.

  • Posted: 5/26/2016 11:12am ET

Free-agent QB Ryan Fitzpatrick (Jets) has not had contract talks with the New York Jets over the last few weeks, according to a source.

Huddle Up: So the news is... there's no news yet. But everyone still expects a Jets/Fitz reunion.

  • Posted: 5/26/2016 11:12am ET

New York Jets head coach Todd Bowles said he's 'hopeful' that QB Ryan Fitzpatrick is re-signed by training camp. However, Bowles didn't say he's confident.

Huddle Up: How many different ways can we say it? The Jets want Fitzpatrick back, Fitzpatrick wants to be back. Get it done already!

  • Posted: 5/24/2016 10:45am ET

Updating a previous report, free-agent QB Ryan Fitzpatrick (Jets) wants to re-sign with the New York Jets. 'I would like to be back,' Fitzpatrick said. He's been in a three-month contract stalemate with the Jets. Fitzpatrick dispelled rumors that he was considering retirement. 'I'm playing,' Fitzpatrick said. 'I'm playing football next year.'

Huddle Up: You know Fitz is signing with the Jets. I know Fitz is signing with the Jets. The Jets not addressing the quarterback position with much vigor this offseason suggests they think Fitz is signing with them. And it looks like Fitz is beginning to realize the Jets are his best remaining landing spot. So make the deal already! Then we can stop fretting about the potential blow to the fantasy values of Eric Decker and Brandon Marshall.

  • Posted: 5/20/2016 12:49pm ET

The deadline for free-agent QB Ryan Fitzpatrick (Jets) could be sooner than expected. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport posits that the first legitimate deadline is when the Jets' organized team activities start Tuesday, May 24.

Huddle Up: In the meantime, Brandon Marshall and Eric Decker owners are growing more anxious ...

  • Posted: 5/20/2016 11:23am ET

The Rams have signed rookie quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick to a three-year contract. Financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed. The former Harvard signal caller is the fourth of the Rams' 11 draft picks to sign.

Huddle Up: The Rams like Fitzpatrick's intelligence and he has a good shot of landing one of the backup spots behind Bulger. Veteran Jamie Martin seems to have the No. 2 job locked up, which means Fitzpatrick will be battling second-year quarterback Jeff Smoker for the No. 3 job.

  • Posted: 5/20/2016 11:23am ET

Interim Ram coach Joe Vitt refused to comment on who the Rams starting quarterback would be this weekend against Washington, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. Rookie Ryan Fitzpatrick relieved a concussed Jamie Martin and exploded for 310 yards and three scores.

Huddle Up: The paper reports that Martin still has blurred vision in his right eye, a condition specialists were examining Monday. Tread very, very lightly when it comes to considering Fitzpatrick, or just about any other Ram this weekend. Coming off the bench against Houston and being the starter against a tough Redskin defense, which has had an entire week to prepare for you, are two entirely different beasts.

  • Posted: 5/20/2016 11:23am ET

Interim HC Joe Vitt still has declined to name the starting quarterback for the game against the Redskins this week but on Wednesday Ryan Fitzpatrick was working out with the first team. Jamie Martin suffered a concussion and blurred vision after being hit last week and attend the practices but only watched. Fitzpatrick also met with the media which is generally the duty of the starting quarterback.

Huddle Up: Going against the Redskins defense will prove more challenging that the Texans to be sure, but the Rams are at home and after last week's fairy tale ending to the game, fans want to see more from this Harvard rookie. Fitzpatrick threw for 310 yards after entering the game at the start of the second quarter.

  • Posted: 5/20/2016 11:23am ET

Interim HC Joe Vitt finally named Fitzpatrick as the starter for this weekend's game against the Redskins. "Do you want a drum roll?" Vitt said Friday. "Yes. I think he gets better every day, he really does." Martin had been considered to return as the starter but has not practiced this week after suffering from blurred vision and a concussion last week.

Huddle Up: while it will be interesting to see if Fitzpatrick can generate the same excitement as last week when he mounted a big comeback in Houston, facing the stingy Washington secondary won't be nearly as easy this week.

  • Posted: 5/20/2016 11:23am ET

Ram interim coach Joe Vitt told the St. Louis News-Dispatch that rookie quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick will start Sunday in Minnesota. Fitzpatrick had 163 yards and no touchdowns against the Redskins, but did manage a rushing score. "I have no problem with the way (Fitzpatrick) played" Sunday in a 24-9 loss to Washington, Vitt told the paper. "We've got to help him."

Huddle Up: Since Marc Bulger is out at least one more week, it looks like Jamie Martin will be the backup. Torry Holt owners can probably rest easy, because Fitzpatrick looked to No. 81 often. However, Kevin Curtis owners need to seriously consider sitting him, since he only has three receptions in the two games he's played with the Harvard grad.
