New England Patriots QB Tom Brady said he is not considering retirement after winning his fourth Super Bowl Sunday, Feb. 1. 'No. I've got a lot of football left,' the 37-year-old Brady said.

Huddle Up: Brady didn't look anywhere near retiring while earning a Super Bowl MVP and fourth ring Sunday night, so there's no reason for the Patriots to expedite the grooming process for Jimmy Garoppolo.

New England Patriots QB Tom Brady (ankle, cold) was able to go through a full practice session Thursday, Jan. 29.

Huddle Up: Yeah, somehow we don't think Brady's cold or lingering ankle injury are going to be much of a factor come his record sixth Super Bowl on Sunday.

  • Posted: 1/28/2015 1:54pm ET

New England Patriots QB Tom Brady (illness) admitted that he is currently battling a cold, but he said he expects to be 100% ready for the Super Bowl Sunday, Feb. 1. 'I've had it for four to five days, my kids got sick and my wife's pretty sick right now,' Brady said. 'I brought it, unfortunately, to Phoenix, but I'll be fine. I'll be good.' Brady is focused on rest and eating plenty of garlic, which he said is one of his 'old remedies.'

Huddle Up: Clearly Tom didn't wear his Uggs out in the New England snow. No matter, there's sure to be an endorsement deal at the end of the illness. Drew Brees, move over; Nyquil has a new spokesman.

New England Patriots QB Tom Brady has publicly stated he'd like to play well into his 40s and feels perfect after playing his 15th season, but his father Tom Brady Sr. believes it won't end well with the Patriots. The younger Brady is under contract through 2017, although he'll turn 40 prior to that season. Brady has publicly said he plans on playing until he's 43 or 44. The 37-year-old quarterback is scheduled to make $12 million in 2015, $8 million in 2016 and $9 million in 2017. His father thinks his son's determination to keep playing won't go over well with the Patriots' brass. "It will end badly," Brady Sr. told New York Times Magazine. "It does end badly. And I know that because I know what Tommy wants to do. He wants to play 'til he's 70. ... It's a cold business. And for as much as you want it to be familial, it isn't."

Huddle Up: After a slow start, Brady finished 2014 with a passer rating (97.4) above his career average (95.9) and bounced back from his 25-TD season a year ago with 33 scoring passes and two fewer interceptions (11-9). Now, as the Patriots chase another Super Bowl title, the lesson likely is don't count Brady out until he bows out.

  • Posted: 1/25/2015 1:44pm ET

New England Patriots QB Tom Brady completed 12 of his 24 pass attempts on scramble plays outside of the pocket this year for 198 yards and two scores. Last year, he was 0-of-4 on similar plays.

Huddle Up: No one is going to confuse the 37-year-old Brady with Russell Wilson on Feb. 1 but he's certainly not the statue fellow golden oldie Peyton Manning is, either.

  • Posted: 12/30/2014 2:13am ET

New England Patriots QB Tom Brady restructured his contract to give the team $24 million more to spend during the winter. Brady changed the contract so that he will only be paid the $24 million if he were to be injured, instead of the money being guaranteed. This restructure could potentially help the Patriots re-sign players like CB Darrelle Revis and RB Shane Vereen.

Huddle Up: Between his earnings to date, his supermodel wife, and his Uggs endorsement money isn't an issue for Brady. Still, not every player is willing to rework their deal to allow their team to pay key players so kudos to Brady for seeing the bigger picture.

  • Posted: 12/27/2014 6:36pm ET

New England Patriots QB Tom Brady could play as little as much as one half Sunday, Dec. 28, in the opinion of beat writer Ben Volin.

Huddle Up: Tight end Rob Gronkowski is also expected to play very little against the Bills. The Patriots have the top seed in the AFC playoffs locked up, so don't expect Brady, Gronk and the rest of their starters to see a lot of action on Sunday.

  • Posted: 12/24/2014 11:08am ET

New England Patriots QB Tom Brady is due $24 million fully guaranteed from 2015-17 if he's on the team's roster Saturday, Dec. 27, at 4:00 p.m. ET.

Huddle Up: Unless the Patriots plan to make their Super Bowl run with Jimmy Garapolo at quarterback, looks like Brady's $24 mil will be guaranteed.

  • Posted: 12/23/2014 4:23pm ET

New England Patriots QB Tom Brady would prefer to play in Week 17 against the Buffalo Bills despite having already locked up a first-round bye and home-field advantage in the AFC playoffs. "There are a lot of guys that could probably use a little time off,' Brady said. 'But at the same time, this is football season and you play through whatever you got and you deal with those things when your season ends. All those things are coach's decisions. I want us to go out and win, that's what I want. I don't care about resting. I want to go out there and try to kick some butt. That's what I want to do." Brady was sacked four times and was 23-for-35 for just 182 yards, a touchdown and an interception in Week 16 against the New York Jets.

Huddle Up: Brady should play, but it easily could wind up being only for a half against the Bills' strong pass rush Sunday, and his fantasy owners should certainly be exploring their QB options if they're still chasing a league title in Week 17.

  • Posted: 10/23/2014 10:16am ET

New England Patriots QB Tom Brady has thrown just two interceptions this year, and both came in the Week 4 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.

Huddle Up: That stat goes a long way towards explaining Brady's fantasy resurgence. No turnovers equal longer possessions, which equal more yardage and more opportunities for scoring.

  • Posted: 10/14/2014 7:44pm ET

New England Patriots QB Tom Brady (ankle) was limited in practice Tuesday, Oct. 14.

Huddle Up: Brady' ankle injury last week was more serious than most realized, but he appeared to get through Sunday's game OK and should be fine for Week 7 -- even on the short week.

  • Posted: 10/14/2014 10:41am ET

New England Patriots QB Tom Brady (ankle) played Sunday, Oct. 13, through a significant injury, according to two sources. Brady rolled his ankle on the foot of one of his offensive linemen Friday, Oct. 10. Brady required a lot of therapy to be ready to play in Week 6.

Huddle Up: The Patriots are the complete opposite of forthcoming when it comes to injury information, so it's no wonder that after Brady has been on the injury report for the past decade--and played through whatever phantom injury he was listed with--that few took this recent injury seriously. We'll see if he's ready to go this week, but either way you can bet he'll be listed on the injury report as questionable, with limited participation in practice.

  • Posted: 10/11/2014 9:24pm ET

New England Patriots QB Tom Brady (ankle) is expected to play in Week 6 Sunday, Oct. 12.

Huddle Up: Brady will start against the Bills. He's a QB1 but the Bills defense will provide a strong test.

  • Posted: 10/11/2014 3:39pm ET

New England Patriots QB Tom Brady (ankle) traveled to Buffalo with the team and was not wearing a walking boot Saturday, Oct. 11.

Huddle Up: Brady is listed as questionable against Buffalo but is expected to start. He's a mid-range QB1 versus the tough Bills defense.

  • Posted: 10/7/2014 6:50pm ET

New England Patriots QB Tom Brady reiterated Monday, Oct. 6, that he wants to be a New England Patriot for the remainder of his career. 'I love the Patriots -- there is no place I'd rather be. I play for the greatest owner and, to me, the greatest coach of all time.'

Huddle Up: Brady and the Pats are certainly feeling better about things following their 43-17 dismantling of the previously undefeated Bengals, and he has four less-than-strenuous fantasy matchups (vs. the Bills, Jets, Bears and Broncos) before the team's Week 10 bye.

  • Posted: 10/6/2014 10:36am ET

New England Patriots QB Tom Brady surpassed 50,000 career passing yards in the first quarter of the Week 5 game against the Cincinnati Bengals. He is just the sixth player in NFL history to reach the plateau.

Huddle Up: One week after looking like it was time to stick a fork in his storied career, Brady looked a whole lot more like the stud quarterback of a few years ago. A healthy Rob Gronkowski should at least keep Brady fantasy-relevant, but odds are the Sunday night showing is more of a season highlight than a harbinger of what's to come the rest of the way.

  • Posted: 9/30/2014 12:34am ET

New England Patriots QB Tom Brady completed 14 of his 23 pass attempts for 159 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions in the Week 4 loss against the Kansas City Chiefs Monday, Sept. 29. One of the interceptions was returned for a touchdown.

Huddle Up: The abominable season continues for Brady, who simply doesn't have near the protection or the pass-catching supporting cast of seasons past. Brady came into Monday's contest as fantasy's 29th-ranked -- yes, you read that right -- QB, and there are few signs pointing back toward fantasy relevancy for the legendary QB.

  • Posted: 9/16/2014 4:27pm ET

New England Patriots QB Tom Brady is 3-for-20 on passing attempts of 15 yards or more in the first two weeks.

Huddle Up: Maybe when/if Gronk gets healthier or the protection improves, things will get brighter, but Brady (398 yards, 28 fantasy points in 2 games) isn't exactly off to the fast start many fantasy pundits had hoped for. Don't completely cut bait unless you absolutely need to but don't shy away from sizing up other QB options, either.

  • Posted: 9/11/2014 10:34am ET

New England Patriots QB Tom Brady (calf) was not listed on the team's first injury report for Week 2 Wednesday, Sept. 10. He was on the injury report last week with a calf ailment.

Huddle Up: Whew, dodged another bullet. Maybe the Patriots can go back to listing Brady as questionable (shoulder), like they've done for the better part of the last decade.

  • Posted: 9/5/2014 2:11pm ET

New England Patriots QB Tom Brady returned to practice Friday, Sept. 5, a day after sitting out with a calf injury. Brady said Thursday, Sept. 4, that he's ready for the season opener against the Miami Dolphins this weekend despite the injury.

Huddle Up: It's looking pretty safe to go ahead and roll with Brady this Sunday.

  • Posted: 9/4/2014 11:02pm ET

New England Patriots QB Tom Brady (calf) will play against the Miami Dolphins on Sunday, Sept. 7, according to a source. The injury popped up in the last 24 hours and will require some management.

Huddle Up: As recommended earlier, plan to have Brady, but of course you'll be monitoring the QB's progress up to kickoff.

  • Posted: 9/4/2014 6:13pm ET

New England Patriots QB Tom Brady did not practice Thursday, Sept. 4, due to a calf injury.

Huddle Up: So this absence was due to an actual injury that has just cropped up, but Patriots beat reporters don't think his status for Sunday's opener in Miami is in any danger. See if anything changes over the next few days.

  • Posted: 9/4/2014 2:23pm ET

New England Patriots QB Tom Brady (undisclosed) is not participating in practice Thursday, Sept. 4.

Huddle Up: It's a mystery for now as Brady didn't appear on the team's Wed. injury report, but it's most likely nothing to be concerned about. Stay tuned ...

  • Posted: 6/29/2014 2:21pm ET

New England Patriots QB Tom Brady could play at a high level into his 40s, according to Denver Broncos WR Wes Welker. 'If anybody can do it, it's Tom,' Welker said. 'I mean, he puts the time in, not only physically and mentally and everything else, but the way he eats, the way he sleeps, the way he does everything. He does it so he can play for a very long time. I think what he did in his 20s and 30s are going to carry on into his 40s.'

Huddle Up: Brady turns 37 in Aug. so we could be talking about possibly 3 more seasons. It's at least enough to make those in keeper or dynasty leagues pause to re-think their Brady options.

  • Posted: 6/21/2014 12:52am ET

New England Patriots WR Danny Amendola and QB Tom Brady have developed a nice rapport this offseason, according to a source. WR Kenbrell Thompkins also impressed during drills, beating new CB Brandon Browner frequently.

Huddle Up: Amendola didn't exactly walk into Wes Welker's role in the New England offense last season, but some extra work in OTAs could be just what the doctor ordered for Brady to find the security blanket he so dearly loves.
