New England Patriots QB Tom Brady could play at a high level into his 40s, according to Denver Broncos WR Wes Welker. 'If anybody can do it, it's Tom,' Welker said. 'I mean, he puts the time in, not only physically and mentally and everything else, but the way he eats, the way he sleeps, the way he does everything. He does it so he can play for a very long time. I think what he did in his 20s and 30s are going to carry on into his 40s.'

Huddle Up: Brady turns 37 in Aug. so we could be talking about possibly 3 more seasons. It's at least enough to make those in keeper or dynasty leagues pause to re-think their Brady options.

New England Patriots WR Danny Amendola and QB Tom Brady have developed a nice rapport this offseason, according to a source. WR Kenbrell Thompkins also impressed during drills, beating new CB Brandon Browner frequently.

Huddle Up: Amendola didn't exactly walk into Wes Welker's role in the New England offense last season, but some extra work in OTAs could be just what the doctor ordered for Brady to find the security blanket he so dearly loves.

New England Patriots QB Tom Brady is expected to report for the start of offseason workouts Monday, April 21.

Huddle Up: Brady was more than stellar last season, guiding an undermanned Pats squad to the the AFC title game. In fantasy circles, however, Brady didn't even rate as a starter in most leagues, finishing tied for 13th among all QBs with 319 points (Huddle Performance scoring). Better overall team health and a better supporting cast will be keys for Brady's fantasy stock.

The New England Patriots have restructured their salary cap to allow for QB Tom Brady's successor to be brought aboard. The team will likely add a third quarterback to its roster as insurance in case QB Ryan Mallett leaves after this season.

Huddle Up: The Pats made waves earlier this offseason by using two of their allotted prospect visits on Teddy Bridgewater and Johnny Manziel; now the potential "budgeting for a successor" plot (wait, wasn't Mallett supposed to be the successor?) adds fuel to the fire. Brady will be 37 when the 2014 season starts, so it only makes sense for New England to be proactive with regards to his successor. Plus, it's great offseason fodder for the media.

New England Patriots QB Tom Brady (illness, shoulder) was back at practice Thursday, Jan. 16, and he downplayed his absence Wednesday, Jan. 15. 'It was nothing,' Brady said. 'I feel great. Nothing at all.'

Huddle Up: Yeah, we think Brady might make the trip to Denver this weekend after all.

  • Posted: 1/15/2014 10:25pm ET

Updating a previous report, New England Patriots QB Tom Brady (illness) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Jan. 15, because of an illness.

Huddle Up: What would conference championship week be without a little drama? Expect Brady to be back at practice by Friday, and there is virtually no chance he misses Manning/Brady XV.

New England Patriots QB Tom Brady is dealing with a cold. Brady said he will be there for the team's divisional game, and hopes to avoid landing on the team's injury report.

Huddle Up: Yeah, we know the microscope is more intensified with only 8 teams remaining but a cold? Really?

New England Patriots QB Tom Brady (hand) said after the Week 8 game against the Miami Dolphins that his hand is fine, although a close-up look on television showed noticeable swelling of his throwing hand. He completed 13 of his 22 pass attempts for just 116 yards, one touchdown and one interception in the victory. 'My hand is perfect,' Brady said Sunday, Oct. 26. 'I didn't know that anyone knows what the back of my hand looks like. It looks fine to me. It feels good, so I'll be out there next week, you don't have to worry about that.'

Huddle Up: Brady didn't play well for much of the game, but that is nothing new this season. The malaise has gone on for much of the season. It will be interesting to see if Brady can turn his fantasy season around, but the evidence is mounting he won't.

New England Patriots QB Tom Brady was listed as limited in practice Thursday, Oct. 24, with a right shoulder issue. He appeared to have problems with his right hand during the team's Week 7 game but downplayed the issue after the contest. 'I'm like everybody; there's just bumps and bruises that happen over the course of the football season. We'll just get treatment like always, be out there, and try to go out and execute as well as I can next week. It's just part of football,' he said. Brady has been on the injury report with a shoulder ailment plenty of times before, but he's started 71 straight regular season games going back to 2009.

Huddle Up: It's the Pats so no one on the outside -- and even many on the inside -- don't know for sure, but it wouldn't appear to be anything that would tangibly affect Brady on Sunday. Still, definitely continue to monitor all reports coming out of Foxborough over the next few days.

New England Patriots QB Tom Brady had his streak of 52 straight games with at least one touchdown pass snapped in Week 5 against the Cincinnati Bengals. "I'm bummed that we lost. That's all that really matters," Brady said after.

Huddle Up: You know who else is bummed? Fox, which will broadcast the Saints-Patriots matchup this week. Had Brady extended his streak, that game would pit him against Drew Brees in an attempt to tie Brees' record of 54 straight games. Brady will feel a whole lot less bummed when Rob Gronkowski returns and Danny Amendola can play a full game.

New England Patriots QB Tom Brady completed 19-of-39 passes for 185 yards and a TD Thursday, Sept. 12 in a 13-10 win over the New York Jets.

Huddle Up: Aside from Julian Edelman, who hauled in 13 of Brady's 19 completions in the game, the absences and inexperience in the Pats' receiving corps was painfully glaring in a national-TV contest Thursday as drops, timing issues and failed third- down conversions (4-of-18) were the rule of the night. It was Brady's first game of fewer than 200 passing yards and 1 TD or less since Week 7 of the 2010 season and his first sub-50 percent completion game in the regular season since Week 15 of the 2009 season. Bottom line: It's going to be tough to expect any improvement or have any fantasy trust in Brady until the likes of Rob Gronkowski and Danny Amendola return or his young wideouts take some strides.

A source said New England Patriots WR Danny Amendola is 'almost certain' to miss the Week 2 game. The Patriots offense is in disarray with Shane Vereen also out and Zach Sudfeld hurting. Stevan Ridley, Aaron Dobson and Kenbrell Thompkins are going to have a lot of pressure on them to produce. Tom Brady's value takes a big hit this week.

Huddle Up: It's as if the football gods are seeing just how far they can push Tom Brady. Edelman and Thompkins would be the biggest beneficiaries, and Ridley gets a reprieve after being benched following last week's fumble issues. As for Amendola... well, you knew it was just a matter of time; you just didn't know it would be Week 2.
