Indianapolis Colts TE Dwayne Allen (ankle) did not participate in practice Thursday, Nov. 27.

Huddle Up: Allen still hasn't practiced since injuring his ankle in Week 11, and will likely need to get in some practice work Friday if he's to avoid missing a second straight game.

Indianapolis Colts TE Dwayne Allen (ankle) is considered day-to-day but looks to be trending in the right direction, according to head coach Chuck Pagano. Pagano is not sure if Allen will be able to practice this week.

Huddle Up: Consider Allen iffy again and likely to miss a second straight game unless practice-reports start indicating otherwise this week.

Indianapolis Colts TE Dwayne Allen (ankle) has been ruled out for Week 12 against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Huddle Up: As expected, Allen will miss his first game of the season, leaving Coby Fleener as a solid TE play this Sunday against the Jags.

Indianapolis Colts TE Dwayne Allen (ankle) missed his second straight day of practice Thursday, Nov. 20, and The Indianapolis Star's Zak Keefer would bet on Allen sitting out this weekend against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Huddle Up: It's most definitely looking like Coby Fleener time Sunday against the Jags. Fleener had a career-high 144 receiving yards on seven catches in the Week 11 loss to the Pats.

Indianapolis Colts TE Dwayne Allen (ankle) did not practice Wednesday, Nov. 19.

Huddle Up: No big surprise here in the first practice of the week, and Allen's Week 12 fate likely won't be decided until later in the week -- and possibly not until Sunday morning.

  • Posted: 11/17/2014 3:12pm ET

Indianapolis Colts TE Dwayne Allen (ankle) was diagnosed with a low ankle sprain, according to two sources. His injury isn't serious, although he could still wind up missing some time.

Huddle Up: Allen hopes to play but we won't know more until later in the week. Coby Fleener will see an increase in targets against Jacksonville if Allen sits out.

Updating a previous report, Indianapolis Colts TE Dwayne Allen (ankle) left the stadium in a walking boot Sunday, Nov. 16. He'll undergo an MRI Monday, Nov. 17. Allen likely suffered a high ankle sprain in Week 11.

Huddle Up: Bad news for the Colts' ground game, as Allen is the better blocking tight end. But with Ahmad Bradshaw out they may just throw all the time anyway, and Coby Fleener certainly proved himself as a worthy target with increased playing time against New England.

Indianapolis Colts TE Dwayne Allen (hip) said he is still working his way back to pre-injury form, but he looks a lot better than he did in training camp, according to beat writer Stephen Holder. Allen has 33 catches for 305 yards and five touchdowns thus far.

Huddle Up: Even with the injury Allen has emerged as the scoring tight end in Indy's rotation, surpassing Andrew Luck's former college teammate Coby Fleener for that role.

  • Posted: 10/14/2014 11:26pm ET

Indianapolis Colts TE Dwayne Allen is currently in the top eight among tight ends in non-PPR leagues. Most of Allen's production has come in the form of touchdowns (4).

Huddle Up: Allen has been targeted a modest 27 times so far and shares the team's TE workload with Coby Fleener (25 targets). Allen does have 5 more catches, 103 more yards and one more TD catch than Fleener so he should definitely be your choice if both Indy TEs are among your low-end TE1 options.

Indianapolis Colts TE Dwayne Allen's return will allow the offense be more "creative" this upcoming season, according to tight ends coach Alfredo Roberts. 'It makes us a better football team,' Roberts said. 'Getting him back is like getting a brand new player. (Allen) gives you a chance to do some other things. His skillset allows us to protect it up, or throw it or run it when we see the advantage. He gives us an advantage because he can do some things in the backfield, do some things in-line where [TE Coby Fleener] we feel like has blossomed as an outside guy. It gives you a little more of a chance to be creative.'

Huddle Up: Allen was Andrew Luck's fourth-most productive target as a rookie in 2012, catching 45 passes for 521 yards and 3 TDs, and he returns as a sleeper TE, while dropping Fleener down a fantasy peg or two.
