Indianapolis Colts WR Reggie Wayne (knee) can still play, get open and make a catch, according to head coach Chuck Pagano. Pagano said it will be great to have Wayne back (from injury) not only because of his on-field ability but because of the leadership he brings to the locker room.

Huddle Up: Wayne may not be done yet, but at this point in his career he's WR2 to TY Hilton and will be competing with Hakeem Nicks for looks. There's still some fantasy value here, just not the top-10 WR value Wayne has had in the past.

Indianapolis Colts head coach Chuck Pagano said he would be shocked if WR Reggie Wayne (knee) is not ready to go by the start of training camp.

Huddle Up: Even though the veteran wideout will turn 36 this November, this is nothing but great news for the Colts and Andrew Luck's fantasy owners,

Indianapolis Colts WR Reggie Wayne (knee) is expected to be cleared for football activities April 25 after he tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his knee in Week 7 last season. 'I feel good, I'm ahead of schedule,' Wayne said. 'I'm at the point where I'm tired of doing the same rehab stuff, to be honest with you. I'm excited to get back to football activities. I feel good.' Wayne wants to participate in the team's minicamp, but he'll be held out as a precaution.

Huddle Up: With Wayne turning 36 this November and coming off the injury, his 100-catch seasons figure to be behind him, but barring any offseason setbacks, there's no reason he can't re-assume his role as Andrew Luck's No. 1 target -- even with the recent addition of Hakeem Nicks and the continued development of young wideout T.Y. Hilton.

Indianapolis Colts head coach Chuck Pagano said WR Reggie Wayne (knee) is making progress in his rehab from a torn anterior cruciate ligament and should be ready to participate no later than training camp.

Huddle Up: There was some debate as to whether or not the veteran would return following his torn ACL, but indications are he'll work his way back. His injury may speed up the baton-passing process, however, as TY Hilton looked like the Colts' WR1 down the stretch.

Indianapolis Colts WR Reggie Wayne (knee) will start doing straight-ahead running next week. 'Ahead of schedule and that's all I can ask for,' Wayne said. 'I've been walking quite often. That's basically the next phase; I get to run on the treadmill.'

Huddle Up: Wayne is pretty late in his career to be coming back from a significant injury like an ACL tear, but he appears to be on track to do just that. However, when he returns to the Indy lineup he'll likely find that he's back to running at WR2, with TY Hilton taking over as the primary target.

Indianapolis Colts WR Reggie Wayne (knee) said his surgically repaired knee feels good and that he expects to play next season at the level he did before he suffered the injury.

Huddle Up: Expect Wayne to be fully ready for Week 1, but a return to his old form is highly questionable as age is catching up fast with the wideout who will turn 36 this November.

Posted: 12/10/2013 10:26pm et

Indianapolis Colts WR Reggie Wayne (knee) said Tuesday, Dec. 10, that he expects to start running in a month and a half, and it will be four and a half months until he is 'full throttle.'

Huddle Up: Wayne is hoping to resume his role as Andrew Luck's No. 1 WR, but with the wideout turning 36 next season, he'll be hard-pressed to bounce back from his first major injury as a pro and return to his previous level.

One NFL personnel executive said Friday, Nov. 1, that he 'would expect a heightened feature (role) of (TE Coby Fleener)' with WR Reggie Wayne (knee) out for the season.

Huddle Up: Fleener should enter weekly TE1 territory now with Wayne out. Fleener and T.Y. Hilton will be Andrew Luck's two main targets in the passing game going forward.

Posted: 11/1/2013 11:57pm et

One NFL personnel executive said Friday, Nov. 1, that he expects WR T.Y. Hilton to take on a 'front line, prominent role' following the loss of WR Reggie Wayne (knee).

Huddle Up: Hilton should be the biggest beneficiary of Wayne getting hurt. Look for his targets to increase significantly over the second half of the season. Hilton could emerge as a weekly WR2 with Wayne out.

Updating previous reports, Indianapolis Colts WR Reggie Wayne (knee) will miss the remainder of the season with a torn anterior cruciate ligament, an MRI confirms.

Huddle Up: This is an unfortunate turn for the veteran receiver. Hopefully he can come back from this, but this could lead to retirement for the soon-to-be 35-year-old receiver. As for your fantasy team, Darrius Heyward-Bey and Lavon Brazill are the guys you want to target if available.

Updating previous reports, the Indianapolis Colts fear WR Reggie Wayne (knee) tore his anterior cruciate ligament.

Huddle Up: On-field testing indicated the ACL tear; Wayne is scheduled for an MRI this afternoon in which the Colts are hoping for a miracle but fearing they'll lose him for the season. TY Hilton, Darrius Heyward-Bey, and LaVon Brazill would need to step up their respective games, and Indy could go dumpster-diving for another depth receiver.

Updating a previous report, Indianapolis Colts WR Reggie Wayne (knee) will not return to the Week 7 game against the Denver Broncos due to a sprained right knee suffered in the fourth quarter. He was taken back to the locker room, and he reportedly had tears in his eyes.

Huddle Up: It doesn't look good for Wayne as a possible season-ending injury might have occurred.

Posted: 10/15/2013 1:03am et

Indianapolis Colts WR Reggie Wayne had five grabs for 88 yards in the Week 6 game against the San Diego Chargers on Monday, Oct. 14, including his 1,000th career reception. Wayne now has at least three receptions in 70 straight games, which is the longest active streak in the NFL.

Huddle Up: Wayne led the Horseshoes in receiving and was easily the team's fantasy headliner on a night in which they failed to reach the end zone and matched the single-game scoring low in Andrew Luck's 22 games as a Colt.

Posted: 9/9/2013 10:51am et

Indianapolis Colts WR Reggie Wayne passed Steve Largent for No. 13 on the NFL's career list for yards receiving with his performance against the Oakland Raiders on Sunday, Sept. 8. Wayne, who had eight catches for 96 yards, now has 13,159 yards. Largent had 13,089.

Huddle Up: Wayne survived the quarterback transition from Peyton Manning to Andrew Luck (via Curtis Painter), and he seems to be weathering the transition in offensive coordinators just fine as well.

Posted: 9/6/2013 2:28pm et

Indianapolis Colts WR Reggie Wayne (personal) was excused from practice Friday, Sept. 6, for personal reasons.

Huddle Up: Fantasy alarms are sounding with Wayne missing a Friday practice, but it sounds like a one-day deal. Do a double check on his status Sat. or early Sunday, though, just to make sure.
