Chris Mortensen, of ESPN, reports the NFL has fined Cincinnati Bengals WR Chad Ochocinco $20,000 for pretending to bribe an official for a favorable call.

The Huddle Take: Begging the question: if Ochocinco had brought more than a dollar onto the field for bribery purposes, would the fine have been greater?

Updating a previous report, The Cincinnati Enquirer reports Cincinnati Bengals WR Chad Ochocinco (hip) did not participate in practice Friday, Oct. 23. He is listed as probable for Week 7 and will play in the game.

The Huddle Take: Question answered. Now you can put Ochocinco into your lineup without any worries.

CBSSports.com reports Cincinnati Bengals WR Chad Ochocinco (hip) is not participating in practice Friday, Oct. 23.

The Huddle Take: Ochocinco would be a good start against the Bears, but it's troubling that the extent of the injury is not known. And if you follow the conventional wisdom that players who don't practice on Friday normally don't play on Sunday, then this news is very disconcerting. We'll keep a close eye on this all weekend. Make sure you visit TheHuddle.com for our Game Day Inactives & Injuries report an hour before kickoff so you can make the best roster decision possible.

The Associated Press reports Cincinnati Bengals WR Chad Ochocinco caught five passes for 89 yards during the team's Week 1 game.

The Huddle Take: Ochocinco posted some decent numbers in Week 1 although the Cincinnati offense sputtered to get ontrack most of the day. Fantasy owners looking for consistent production from the Bengals will likely not see that until later on in the season since Carson Palmer will need to have some time to settle back in and get on the same page with his receivers. Ochocinco is a decent No. 2 wideout at the present time.

The Associated Press reports Cincinnati Bengals WR Chad Ochocinco kicked an extra point Thursday, Aug. 20, because head coach Marvin Lewis is being cautious with PK Shayne Graham. Ochocinco also kicked off to start the second half.

The Huddle Take: Added value for Ochocinco in fantasy leagues; if Graham is hurt, looks like Chad is the backup kicker. And he didn't look half bad, either.

The Cincinnati Enquirer reports Cincinnati Bengals WR Chad Ochocinco made a couple nice catches during the teams practice Monday, Aug. 3.

The Huddle Take: Chad will slip a decent bit in most drafts this year and bears watching, he's still a top receiver and there is an even chance that he and Palmer could each have a solid comeback year. Don't discount him too much and if you get him at a early mid round spot, think of it as a possible steal.

The Dayton Daily News reports Cincinnati Bengals WR Chad Ochocinco said he will still use Twitter during games even though the NFL said they would not allow players to Tweet during games.

The Huddle Take: He'll change that tune the first time his team gets penalized 15 yards for unsportsmanlike conduct due to his Tweets.

SportsRadioInterviews.com reports Cincinnati Bengals WR Chad Ochocinco said during a Houston radio interview that he plans to use Twitter during games this season. 'It's big for me and I'm taking it a step further,' Ochocinco said of Twitter. 'I have my own application coming out where people will be able to interact and follow me. You know more than through just the keyboard and reading my messages - you'll actually be able to follow me and when the season starts, it's going to get even worse. I'm going to really make it fun. I'm using Twitter during games, during halftime, after the games. I'm going to be taking it to the next level.'

The Huddle Take: Yeah. That'll go over real well with Marvin Lewis and Carson Palmer and the rest of the team. So instead of paying 100 percent attention in sideline meetings during the game he'll be Tweeting? The sideshow surrounding Ochocinco has grown tiresome. Wake us up when he proves he can actually perform on the field again.

The Associated Press reports Cincinnati Bengals QB Carson Palmer reiterated that WR Chad Ochocinco remains his top target within the team's offense. "He's going to play (the lead role) because he deserves to play there," Palmer said. "He's been one of the best receivers in this league for a long time. He's still able to play at that level, and still capable of making big plays and carrying the load offensively at the receiver spot, so he will."

The Huddle Take: Palmer knows the wisdom of stroking Ochocinco's ego, and the Bengals need a mentally engaged Ochocinco to help their passing game to bounce back after last year's abysmal showing.

The Cincinnati Enquirer, reports Cincinnati Bengals WR Chad Ochocinco said he is once again motivated to have a strong season, something he claims to have been lacking for the last decade. 'From 1997-99, I was hungry. Since then it got a little too easy for me,' Ochocinco said. 'I wouldn't say I stopped working hard but that hunger wasn't like it used to be. Right now it's back. It's back 10 times worse than what it was before I got to the league.'

The Huddle Take: Only time will tell which Ochocinco will show up to play for the Bengals this season. Fantasy owners should tread cautiously here as he could easily disappear once again when the going gets tough in Cincinnati this year. Consider him a No. 2 fantasy wideout with limited upside at the present time.
