Huddle Up: Griffin was set to receive a $750,000 roster bonus Saturday, so this was a no-brainer for the Browns. Based on his recent play and poor track record for staying healthy, RG3 could be waiting a while before he gets another opportunity in the NFL.

Huddle Up: RG3 had a glimmer of hope if he were to have stayed in Cleveland, but all of that can be forgotten. He may struggle to find a roster spot in 2017 and shouldn't be on anyone's radar at this time.

Huddle Up: RG III is a mediocre QB2 in fantasy realms, but he showed some flashes with little to work with. He could be a matchup play in DFS.

Huddle Up: Whether the Browns go in another direction at quarterback remains to be seen. They are unlikely to send Terrelle Pryor back to QB because Pryor had over 1,000 receiving yards in 2016. Griffin could get another chance, unless the Browns select a QB in the draft and put him to use immediately.

Huddle Up: The upcoming draft lacks a top-flight prospect at the position, while the top free-agent quarterbacks figure to be players such as Tyrod Taylor and Mike Glennon. The Browns are reportedly interested in trading for New England Patriots backup Jimmy Garoppolo as well. It could be argued any or all the alternatives may be better than Griffin, who has shown next to nothing while also struggling to stay healthy yet again.

Huddle Up: RG3 finished 17 for 25 with 164 yards, no touchdowns, no interceptions and 42 yards on six runs before departing. Even if he is able to return from yet another injury he isn't a very good fantasy option in Week 17.

Huddle Up: If Griffin wants to make a case to be Cleveland's starter next season, he needs to show something in the final weeks. In the meantime, he should be avoided in all fantasy formats.

Huddle Up: Griffin is not a starter by any stretch of the imagination in this year's fantasy leagues. He could be a late-round flyer for next year's drafts if the next few weeks show signs of improvement. Anything special Griffin did today was icing on the cake, as he came back to the field following a three-month absence.

Huddle Up: After a solid start to the year, Isaiah Crowell hasn't run for more than 44 yards in each of his last five games. Don't expect much of a change with Griffin under center, and Crowell remains a risky flex play in Week 14.

Huddle Up: The Browns hope to get a four-game look at RG3 before deciding what direction to go this offseason. Given the current state of things in Cleveland, don't expect it to go well. He can ignored in fantasy leagues.

Huddle Up: The Bengals have been decent against the QB position over the last five weeks. This wouldn't be the matchup to start RG III after a lengthy layoff.

Huddle Up: RG III would only have value in leagues that play two quarterbacks. However, with them activating him, you'd have to think they would play him when he's fit to return.

Huddle Up: Griffin isn't anywhere close to return to game action. He might be back at some time this season, but fantasy owners shouldn't expect much.
Posted: 11/14/2016 1:28pm ET
Huddle Up: Assuming Griffin will be fully healthy, he should be able to take over the starting position right away. The Browns need a spark after a 0-10 start, but Griffin will be too risky to start in fantasy lineups right away. If he was dropped, though, he'll be worth picking up when he returns.

Huddle Up: Even if Griffin does return this year, there is no guarantee he will reclaim the starting job, let alone be effective. He can be left on the waiver wire.

Huddle Up: Cody Kessler has actually played pretty well as a rookie in place of Griffin and McCown. Either one could very well start if/when they're ready to play again, but it's Kessler's team for the time being. The rule of thumb, though, is to avoid any starting Cleveland quarterback.
