Huddle Up: Hardly a surprise but still shocking at the rapid demise of the third-overall pick in 2012. And with Roy Helu more of a third-down back, undrafted rookie Michael Dyer will serve as Latavius Murray's backup for now, but don't be surprised if the Raiders add a veteran here soon. (How would Fred Jackson look in Silver & Black?)

Huddle Up: Richardson is listed as the No. 2 right now but Roy Helu is going to play on passing downs. Richardson needs to impress this preseason just to solidify a spot on the final roster.

Huddle Up: In a word: Yikes! If T-Rich hasn't reached rock bottom yet, he's getting awfully close.

Huddle Up: A reason wasn't given but there's a possibility Richardson failed his conditioning test. It would be a bad sign for his chances of making the Raiders' roster. Reports earlier this week said Richardson didn't look good early in camp. It seems unthinkable but a former first-round pick who was then traded for a first-round pick may be done at the age of 25.

Huddle Up: Even with the price dirt cheap, ignore the talk and resist the temptation to buy low on T-Rich. If you're still tempted, go back and review his Indy stats from the past two seasons.

Huddle Up: This story would have more fantasy importance if Tice were telling us Richardson was putting on weight and playing guard for the Raiders. After his showing the past two seasons few if any fantasy owners are banking on Richardson--lighter or not--bringing anything to the fantasy table as a possible backup to Latavius Murray.

Huddle Up: Good news for Murray and his fantasy owners, as what we've seen from Richardson lately suggests he won't be much competition at all.
Posted: 3/18/2015 12:04am ET
Huddle Up: The inexperienced Murray has made only three starts and has only 82 career carries, but Richardson is going to have to pull off a dramatic career U-turn to have a shot after averaging all of 3.1 yards per attempt on his 316 rushes in Indy over the last two seasons.
Posted: 3/17/2015 2:30pm ET
Huddle Up: The Silver & Black will try to salvage Richardson's career -- still at age 24 -- which took a well-documented disastrous turn during his two seasons in Indy. It also marks a complete overhaul in the Raiders' backfield as Latavius Murray, Roy Helu and now Richardson have replaced Darren McFadden and the retired Maurice Jones-Drew.

Huddle Up: As has long been expected following his disastrous two-year run in Indy. Frank Gore, Dan Herron and Vick Ballard are expected to head the Colts' ground game if they don't re-sign free-agent Ahmad Bradshaw.

Huddle Up: It's only the start of what's sure to be a contentious offseason between T-Rich and Indy, and many see it ending with the two parties parting ways.
Posted: 2/10/2015 11:58pm ET
Huddle Up: Blount's critique is nothing Richardson hasn't heard since the middle of last season, but the former No. 3 overall draft pick simply seems unable to make any adjustments to his game and it appears it will cost him a roster spot in Indy.
Posted: 2/9/2015 2:56pm ET
Huddle Up: Richardson wasn't particularly productive in addition to running afoul of team officials, and it's quite likely the team will find a way to move on from him in the offseason.
Posted: 1/27/2015 1:28pm ET
Huddle Up: Sounds like the perfect out for Indy with the deeply disappointing Richardson having averaged only 3.1 yards per carry in 20 games with the team.
Posted: 1/21/2015 12:44pm ET
Huddle Up: Lots of talk regarding Richardson's situation, none of it regarding his on-field performance--because there was none. Richardson missed practices, was reportedly dealing with a family situation, and was also suspended? Despite the cap hit and invested first-round pick there just doesn't seem to be any way Richardson returns to the Colts next season.
Posted: 1/18/2015 1:40pm ET
Huddle Up: Richardson didn't get a touch in the wild-card win over the Bengals, was inactive during the divisional round and his disastrous run in Indy appears to be over.
Posted: 1/11/2015 4:03pm ET
Huddle Up: It seems the Colts have finally given up on their 2013 prize trade acquisition, who's struggled to keep his yards-per-carry average above 3.0 -- let alone make any sort of impact. Meanwhile, RB Michael Hill, a street free agent signed Tuesday, is active for the game and will back up Daniel Herron and Zurlon Tipton.
Posted: 1/8/2015 4:24pm ET
Huddle Up: While Richardson got regular touches throughout the season despite his less-than-impressive performances, it looks like the Colts have finally soured on the former No. 3 overall pick. Stay far away, no matter how cheap his DFS salary figure may be.
Posted: 1/4/2015 5:32pm ET
Huddle Up: Richardson missed only his second game in two years with the Colts, while rookies Dan Herron (12-56-1) and Zurlon Tipton (11-40) shouldered the load against the Bengals. Herron also led the team with 10 recdeptions for 85 yards and remains the only Indy back you want.
Posted: 1/3/2015 12:48am ET
Huddle Up: Richardson should be fine by Sunday but rookie Dan Herron will get the majority of the RB work Sunday against Cincy as usual.
Posted: 12/2/2014 9:04pm ET
Huddle Up: From Donald Brown to Ahmad Bradshaw to now Herron, Richardson has been outperformed by just about every back he's played with in Indy, but it's clear the Colts aren't about to give up on the player they dealt a first-round pick for.
