Houston Texans RB Lamar Miller will likely see fewer carries, especially early in the year, according to head coach Bill O'Brien. 'We feel like we have a pretty diverse group of running backs so I think in order to get him at his best in January, we probably need to cut down on that early in the year,' O'Brien said.

Huddle Up: Even if Miller loses a few touches over the course of the year, he should still be the workhorse in Houston's backfield and a borderline RB1.

  • Posted: 1/14/2017 9:15pm ET

Houston Texans RB Lamar Miller ran for 73 yards on 19 carries and added 16 yards receiving on four catches in a Divisional Round loss to the New England Patriots.

Huddle Up: It's about the kind of line we've come to expect this season from Miller, who got exactly what he wanted in terms of workload this season but rarely got much of a chance to show off his explosiveness as defenses typically loaded the box and dared Houston to throw. Miller could emerge as the RB1 he could have been this season in 2017, but the Texans need better quarterbacking and some improvements on the offensive line if that is going to happen.

  • Posted: 1/8/2017 9:57am ET

Houston Texans RB Lamar Miller (ankle) said his ankle felt good during the Wild Card playing game and did not have any setbacks.

Huddle Up: Miller received 31 carries during the game, so it appears like he is healthy after missing the last two regular season games. He will be facing a tough defense in the Divisional Round playoff game but can still be a No. 1 or No. 2 running back in fantasy leagues.

  • Posted: 1/7/2017 4:59pm ET

Houston Texans RB Lamar Miller returned from a two-week absence due to an ankle injury and carried 31 times for 73 yards and a touchdown in a Wild Card playoff win over the Oakland Raiders.

Huddle Up: Miller scored from four yards out midway through the first quarter and also busted loose for an 18-yard run, but Houston's offensive line did him very few favors otherwise. With a likely date in Foxboro against the New England Patriots next weekend, Miller will be no more than a RB2.

  • Posted: 1/6/2017 2:17pm ET

Houston Texans RB Lamar Miller (ankle) fully participated in practice Friday, Jan. 6, and is not on the injury report for the Wild Card game against the Oakland Raiders.

Huddle Up: Miller should see plenty of work in the playoff game because of the team's quarterback situation. Miller sat out the last two regular season games to allow his ankle to heal but did have a touchdown in his last two games played. Miller should be considered a No. 1 or No. 2 running back in all fantasy leagues.

  • Posted: 1/5/2017 5:14pm ET

Houston Texans RB Lamar Miller (ankle) was a full participant in practice Thursday, Jan. 5.

Huddle Up: Miller should be ready to roll after sitting out the final two regular season games, and the ball should be in his hands early and often against Oakland. He should have one of the higher floors among running backs in play this weekend.

  • Posted: 1/4/2017 2:13pm ET

Houston Texans WR Lamar Miller (ankle) fully participated in practice Wednesday, Jan. 4.

Huddle Up: Miller appears to be on track to play in the Wild Card playoff game against the Oakland Raiders after missing the previous two games because of his ankle injury. Miller should receive most of the work at running back and can be a starting back in all fantasy leagues.

  • Posted: 1/3/2017 3:11pm ET

Houston Texans RB Lamar Miller (ankle) feels rejuvenated and ready to go against the Oakland Raiders this weekend after sitting out the last two games of the regular season. 'I think [the break] helped me out a lot,' Miller said. 'I feel fresh right now. I feel good. Missing my first two games [of the season], it was kind of tough. It was different for me, but I'm happy I'm back and I'm looking forward to helping this team.'

Huddle Up: For those in fantasy playoff leagues, Miller is one of the best options for the first round of postseason action. He faces an Oakland Raiders defense that surrendered 141.6 total yards per game and 18 total touchdowns to running backs in the regular season. Miller should also be considered a low-end RB1 to high-end RB2 for next season.

  • Posted: 1/2/2017 9:25pm ET

Houston Texans RB Lamar Miller (ankle) is 'set to return' for the team's AFC Wild Card postseason game Saturday, Jan. 7, versus the Oakland Raiders. He has been running and has made steady progress in his recovery after missing the final two games of the regular season.

Huddle Up: Even with Houston's uncertainty under center, Miller should be a good option to deploy in fantasy at running back if he indeed suits up, which looks very likely now. It's also possible that the Texans continue to implement backup running back Alfred Blue a bit more than usual, but even so, Miller will get plenty of work, with Houston trusting him far more than their inconsistent quarterbacks.

  • Posted: 12/30/2016 2:54pm ET

Houston Texans RB Lamar Miller (ankle) has been ruled out for the team's Week 17 finale Sunday, Jan. 1, against the Tennessee Titans.

Huddle Up: No surprise here, as Miller also missed the team's Week 16 contest before sitting out a full week's worth of practices. With the Texans already in the playoffs, there is really no reason to force him into action. While he's out resting his ankle, Alfred Blue will once again step in and should garner RB2/FLEX consideration this weekend.

  • Posted: 12/29/2016 11:34am ET

Houston Texans RB Lamar Miller (ankle) is not participating in practice Thursday, Dec. 29.

Huddle Up: The Texans have a playoff spot wrapped up, so there is a good chance that Miller receives another week off to rest his ankle. Owners probably should avoid Miller this week because he likely would see limited work if he is active for Week 17. Alfred Blue would receive most of the work if Miller sits and can be a No. 2 running back or a flex option.

  • Posted: 12/28/2016 11:39am ET

Houston Texans RB Lamar Miller (ankle) is not participating in practice Wednesday, Dec. 28.

Huddle Up: There is a good chance that Miller sits out again in order to be ready for the playoffs. Owners should check on his status later in the week to see if he will play. He would be a risky option if he plays since he could receive limited snaps. Alfred Blue would receive the start if Miller sits and would be a fine No. 2 running back.

  • Posted: 12/26/2016 3:43pm ET

Houston Texans RB Lamar Miller (ankle) is feeling better after sitting out Week 16 because of an ankle injury, but head coach Bill O'Brien said he is not sure if Miller will play in Week 17.

Huddle Up: Owners should keep an eye on Miller's practice participation this week to see if he has a chance to play in Week 17. He may receive limited playing time even if he plays and would be a risky option for owners. Alfred Blue played well in place of Miller in Week 16 and can be at least a flex option in leagues if he starts.

  • Posted: 12/25/2016 12:58pm ET

Houston Texans RB Lamar Miller (ankle) said he is not sure if he will play in Week 17 since the team has already clinched a playoff spot. He said he is not dealing with a long-term injury and probably could play if he was needed.

Huddle Up: Owners should keep an eye on the situation because there is a decent chance the Texans decide to hold Miller out for one more week. Alfred Blue rushed for 73 yards and one touchdown in Week 16 and would be a No. 2 running back or a flex option if Miller sits out.

  • Posted: 12/24/2016 7:25am ET

Houston Texans RB Lamar Miller (ankle) appears unlikely to play in Week 16's game against the Cincinnati Bengals but is expected to return to action in Week 17.

Huddle Up: Miller did not participate at all in practice this week and was listed as questionable on the injury report. Alfred Blue is likely to see the majority of the snaps at running back versus the Bengals but he is only worthy of consideration as a flex option in deeper fantasy formats.

  • Posted: 12/23/2016 5:29pm ET

Updating a previous report, Houston Texans RB Lamar Miller (ankle) did not participate in practice Friday, Dec. 23, and is listed as questionable for Week 16.

Huddle Up: Miller may be a game-time decision for Week 16, so owners will need to keep an eye on the situation. He can be a No. 2 running back if he is active for the game, but owners will need other options available if he is ruled out.

  • Posted: 12/23/2016 1:59pm ET

Houston Texans RB Lamar Miller (ankle) is listed as questionable to play in the team's Week 16 game Saturday, Dec. 24, versus the Cincinnati Bengals.

Huddle Up: Yikes, this is a pretty difficult situation for fantasy owners, with Houston slated to play after most other teams this weekend. Considering Miller hasn't practiced all week, he appears to be a true game-time decision, so owners should certainly rush to the waiver wire for Alfred Blue's services as a handcuff if he's available, just in case. Of course, considering Miller hasn't missed a game since his rookie season in 2012, there's still hope the former Dolphin suits up.

  • Posted: 12/22/2016 10:53am ET

Houston Texans RB Lamar Miller (ankle) did not participate in practice Thursday, Dec. 22.

Huddle Up: Miller's status for Week 16 is uncertain at this point, but owners should know more later in the week. He should be considered a No. 2 running back if he plays, but owners will need other options ready to go if Miller is ruled out.

  • Posted: 12/21/2016 5:09pm ET

Houston Texans RB Lamar Miller (ankle) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Dec. 21.

Huddle Up: Miller suffered the injury late in last week's game, so his status for Week 16 was uncertain at this point. He has received at least 15 carries in six of the last seven games and has four touchdowns during that span. He should be considered a No. 2 running back if he is able to play.

  • Posted: 12/18/2016 3:59pm ET

Houston Texans RB Lamar Miller (ankle) suffered an ankle injury late in the Week 15 game against the Jacksonville Jaguars, but he said after the game he will be ready for the Week 16 game against the Cincinnati Bengals Saturday, Dec. 24. 'I feel like I just tweaked it a little bit, my ankle,' Miller said. 'I'll be all right. Just have to get some treatment, get some rest and I should be straight. Of course, I'll be out there.'

Huddle Up: Miller posted 63 yards on 22 yards in a grind against the Jags, and he posted the game-winning touchdown late in the fourth quarter. He remains a solid RB2 in most fantasy leagues when healthy.

  • Posted: 12/16/2016 6:29pm ET

Houston Texans RB Lamar Miller (ankle, ribs) was a limited participant in practice and is no longer listed on the Week 15 injury report.

Huddle Up: Miller is the main man in Houston's backfield, and he should be a high floor RB2 against Jacksonville in Week 15.

  • Posted: 12/15/2016 5:37pm ET

Houston Texans RB Lamar Miller (ankle, ribs) was a limited participant in practice Thursday, Dec. 15.

Huddle Up: Miller should be a strong RB2 in Week 15 against a Jacksonville team he averaged 5.5 yards per carry against earlier this year.

  • Posted: 12/14/2016 4:50pm ET

Houston Texans RB Lamar Miller (ankle, ribs) was limited during practice Wednesday, Dec. 14.

Huddle Up: Miller is coming off a solid Week 14 performance where he posted 107 yards and one touchdown. He will continue to receive a majority of the carries in Week 15 and can be a fine No. 2 running back in all fantasy leagues.

  • Posted: 12/11/2016 9:50pm ET

Houston Texans RB Lamar Miller rushed 21 times for 107 yards and a touchdown in the Week 14 game against the Indianapolis Colts. He also added a 15-yard catch on his only target.

Huddle Up: Miller has managed three 100-yard games over his past eight outings, and he has found the end zone three times in the past six games. He remains a solid RB2 in all fantasy leagues heading into Week 15.

  • Posted: 12/9/2016 4:56pm ET

Houston Texans RB Lamar Miller (ankle, ribs) was limited during practice Friday, Dec. 9, but is not on the injury report for Week 14.

Huddle Up: Miller should be in uniform against the Indianapolis Colts and probably will receive most of the carries during the game. He was limited to 22 yards rushing in the last game but has posted decent option in most weeks this season. He should be a No. 2 running back in most leagues.

  • Posted: 12/8/2016 6:17pm ET

Houston Texans RB Lamar Miller (ankle, ribs) was a limited participant in practice Thursday, Dec. 8.

Huddle Up: Miller has been quiet the last two games, but he should return to form in Week 14 against a Colts team allowing the fifth-most yards per rush. He is a borderline RB1.

  • Posted: 12/7/2016 3:21pm ET

Houston Texans RB Lamar Miller (ankle, ribs) was limited during practice Wednesday, Dec. 7.

Huddle Up: Miller briefly left the team's Week 13 game because of the injured ribs but should be ready to play this week. He has been a bit inconsistent in terms of his rushing yards over the last few weeks but can still be a No. 2 running back in most leagues.

  • Posted: 12/4/2016 6:13pm ET

Houston Texans RB Lamar Miller rushed 14 times for just 22 yards in the Week 13 game against the Green Bay Packers. He also had one catch for minus-4 yards on his only target.

Huddle Up: It was a nightmare performance for Miller from a fantasy perspective, and he did not look comfortable with the snowy and cold conditions while facing a strong rush defense. He'll look to rebound in Week 14 against the Indianapolis Colts.

  • Posted: 12/4/2016 10:30am ET

Updating a previous report, Houston Texans RB Lamar Miller (ribs) has returned to the team's Week 13 game after being cleared by the medical staff.

Huddle Up: It appears like Miller has recovered from the injury and will continue to play, but it is not known if his playing time will be affected because of his ribs. He should be considered a No. 2 running back if he is able to play next week.

  • Posted: 12/4/2016 10:26am ET

Houston Texans RB Lamar Miller (ribs) left the team's Week 13 game early because of injured ribs and is considered questionable to return.

Huddle Up: Miller entered the game with the injury and appears to have aggravated the injury, so he may not be able to return to the game. Alfred Blue would become the starter if Miller has to miss more time and could be a flex option in some leagues.

  • Posted: 12/2/2016 1:53pm ET

Houston Texans RB Lamar Miller (ankle, ribs) was a limited participant at practice for the third straight day Friday, Dec. 2.

Huddle Up: Miller isn't even listed on the injury report, so there should be no issues over his availability this Sunday. The only concern is whether or not he'll be suiting up at less than 100 percent. Even so, it would be hard to justify not starting him in Week 13, being one of the main focal points of this offense no matter what condition he's in. Look for Houston to lean on him the usual amount in this crucial encounter at Lambeau.

  • Posted: 12/1/2016 3:36pm ET

Houston Texans RB Lamar Miller (ankle, ribs) was limited in practice Thursday, Dec. 1.

Huddle Up: The Green Bay Packers rush defense has been more susceptible of late, but Miller could be limited this week if he's not fully healthy by game time. Even if he does see fewer touches, RB2 production is definitely still attainable.

  • Posted: 11/30/2016 2:15pm ET

Houston Texans RB Lamar Miller (ankle, ribs) was limited during practice Wednesday, Nov. 30.

Huddle Up: Miller should receive his normal workload in Week 13 despite his injuries. He has received at least 15 carries in each of his last four games but has been a bit inconsistent with his rushing yards over the last few weeks. Miller probably should be considered a No. 2 running back or a flex option in most leagues.

  • Posted: 11/28/2016 1:40pm ET

Houston Texans RB Lamar Miller (ankle) is expected to be fine after suffering an ankle injury in Week 12.

Huddle Up: Miller has had a good inaugural season with Houston, but he has been held in check many times, too. His Week 13 matchup against the Green Bay Packers is less than favorable and he should be considered as a low-end RB1 to high-end RB2.

  • Posted: 11/27/2016 10:04pm ET

Houston Texans RB Lamar Miller rushed 19 times for 57 yards in the Week 12 game against the San Diego Chargers and he had three receptions for 18 yards on four targets.

Huddle Up: Miller will look to bounce back in Week 13 in Green Bay. While they have a strong rush defense, they're susceptible to the big play via the pass. Miller could have a big game catching the ball out of the backfield.

  • Posted: 11/25/2016 4:33pm ET

Houston Texans RB Lamar Miller (ankle, ribs) was limited during practice Friday, Nov. 25, but is not on the injury report for Week 12.

Huddle Up: Miller should receive most of the work at running back in Week 12 despite the injuries. He is coming off his third 100-yard game of the season and has two touchdowns in his last three games. He should be considered a fine No. 2 running back in all fantasy leagues.

  • Posted: 11/24/2016 3:45pm ET

Houston Texans RB Lamar Miller (ankle, ribs) was a limited participant in practice Thursday, Nov. 24.

Huddle Up: Miller has been given the volume that a featured back deserves in his first season with Houston. He has one of the better matchups of the week in Week 12 among running backs against the San Diego Chargers, who have allowed 15 total touchdowns to the position this year.

  • Posted: 11/23/2016 3:43pm ET

Houston Texans RB Lamar Miller (ankle, ribs) was a limited participant in practice Wednesday, Nov. 23.

Huddle Up: Miller is beat up at this point in the season, but then again, who isn't? He should still see plenty of action in what will be very favorable matchup with the San Diego Chargers. Miller is an RB1 consideration for Week 12 as long as he doesn't have any setbacks later this week.

  • Posted: 11/21/2016 9:49pm ET

Houston Texans RB Lamar Miller (shoulder) rushed 24 times for 104 yards and a touchdown in the Week 11 game against the Oakland Raiders Monday, Nov. 21, in Mexico City. He added two receptions for nine yards on five targets.

Huddle Up: Miller did not show any ill effects of his shoulder injury, posting his third 100-yard game of the season. He has three rushing touchdowns and four total scores over his past five games. He remains a must-start RB2 in all fantasy formats heading into Week 12 against the San Diego Chargers.

  • Posted: 11/19/2016 1:04pm ET

Houston Texans RB Lamar Miller (ankle) was limited during practice Saturday, Nov. 19, and is not on the injury report for Week 11.

Huddle Up: Miller has been a pretty solid option for fantasy owners over the last few weeks and has two touchdowns in the last two weeks. He will continue to be the main option in the passing game and can be a No. 2 running back for owners.

  • Posted: 11/18/2016 3:01pm ET

Houston Texans RB Lamar Miller (ankle) was limited during practice Friday, Nov. 18.

Huddle Up: Miller likely will be able to play this week but is being limited during practice. He has posted decent numbers so far this and has two touchdowns in the last four games. He should be considered a No. 2 running back as long as he is healthy.

  • Posted: 11/17/2016 8:43pm ET

Houston Texans RB Lamar Miller (ankle) was a limited participant in practice Thursday, Nov. 17.

Huddle Up: Miller should continue to see plenty of action as the headliner in Houston's backfield. He is a low-end RB1 against the Raiders in Week 11.

  • Posted: 11/13/2016 2:53pm ET

Houston Texans RB Lamar Miller ran 15 times for 83 yards in a Week 10 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars. He briefly left the game with an apparent ankle injury but returned to action. It is believed Miller was injured on a 45-yard run that came up a yard short of a touchdown.

Huddle Up: Miller had a great matchup to exploit and was effective. The Texans face the Oakland Raiders on Monday Night Football in Week 11.

  • Posted: 11/13/2016 10:59am ET

Houston Texans RB Lamar Miller (undisclosed) is being checked out on the sideline by team trainers. He has been playing with a sore shoulder, but the nature of this injury is unclear.

Huddle Up: Miller was a yard shy of a touchdown after a 43-yard run, and missing time with this great matchup would be crushing for fantasy gamers. Stay tuned.

  • Posted: 11/10/2016 5:54pm ET

Houston Texans RB Lamar Miller (shoulder) was a limited participant in practice Thursday, Nov. 10.

Huddle Up: Miller has RB1 upside in Week 10 against a struggling Jacksonville defense.

  • Posted: 11/9/2016 4:42pm ET

Houston Texans RB Lamar Miller (shoulder) was limited during practice Wednesday, Nov. 9.

Huddle Up: Miller received an extra week to rest his shoulder and should be ready for more work in Week 10. He has rushed for two touchdowns in the last three games and can be a solid No. 2 running back for most owners if he plays.

  • Posted: 10/30/2016 8:10am ET

Updating previous reports, Houston Texans RB Lamar Miller (shoulder) will be active for Week 8's game against the Detroit Lions.

Huddle Up: Miller was a limited participant in practice all week and was listed as questionable on the most recent edition of the injury report. He has a very favorable matchup against a poor run defense and is worth considering as a low-end RB1, even though he has scored just one touchdown to date this season.

  • Posted: 10/29/2016 9:47am ET

Houston Texans RB Lamar Miller (shoulder) was limited in practice all week and is listed as questionable for Week 8 against the Detroit Lions. Head coach Bill O'Brien is calling Miller a game-time decision after a midweek MRI revealed no structural or ligament damage. 'Hopefully, Sunday I'll be full-go. That's the plan. I'm not really sure how much I will play right now, but hopefully I will be in there. .. I feel way better than the beginning of the week. Every morning, I've been feeling better,' Miller said.

Huddle Up: Owners need to prepare for a whole host of different possibilities, the least likely of which appears to be Miller sitting out given the fact he returned to play last week. O'Brien will likely opt to spell Miller more often with Alfred Blue, but this sounds more like an issue of pain tolerance and less like making an injury worse. Assuming Miller plays, he should see enough work against a bad run defense to be worth trusting as a RB1.

  • Posted: 10/28/2016 7:24pm ET

Houston Texans RB Lamar Miller (shoulder) did a 'decent job' in practice this week, according to head coach Bill O'Brien, but O'Brien said Miller's status for Week 8 against the Detroit Lions won't be determined until game day.

Huddle Up: Miller could be limited if he plays, but if he suits up, he is worth the gamble against a Detroit defense ranked 21st against the run and 26th in yards per carry.

  • Posted: 10/28/2016 4:02pm ET

Houston Texans RB Lamar Miller (shoulder) was limited during practice Friday, Oct. 28, and is listed as questionable for Week 8.

Huddle Up: Miller could be a game-time decision for Week 8 and may be limited if he is active for the game. He will be a risky option for fantasy owners but can be a flex option if he is active.
