The Associated Press, reports Seattle Seahawks RB T.J. Duckett has been waived from the team.
The Huddle Take: With the addition of Edgerrin James to the team this appears to have made veteran T.J. Duckett expendable. Look for the veteran to land with another team to add depth and shore up its running back corp in the near future.

The Seattle Times reports the Seattle Seahawks are expected to release RB T.J. Duckett to make room for RB Edgerrin James, according to ProFootballTalk.com.
The Huddle Take: Duckett looked to be the Seahawks' main goal-line guy this season, but that's obviously not going to be the case. But there are a number of potential landing spots for him, even though it's very late in camp. Seattle will likely use Julius Jones and James on a roughly equal basis, with Justin Forsett seeing action on third downs. James will probably take most of the short yardage and goal-line carries.

The News Tribune reports Seattle Seahawks RB T.J. Duckett has received a bigger workload thus far in training camp and his role should expand this season. Duckett's role was limited to short-yardage and goal-line situations last season.
The Huddle Take: Duckett scored 8 touchdowns last season even though he only had 172 yards rushing. If he retains his goal-line role, yet expands his overall touches, he's going to be someone you need to consider in the late rounds. And in TD-only leagues, he could be a huge sleeper.

Eric Williams, of the Tacoma News Tribune, reports Seattle Seahawks RB T.J. Duckett said during a radio interview that he would like to receive more carries this season. "I would love to have more carries," Duckett said. "I'm not just wanting to settle with being a short-yardage back just because of my size. So yeah, definitely, mentally I'm ready to compete for that."
The Huddle Take: What Duckett wants and what Duckett gets will not necessarily be the same thing. Right now Julius Jones projects to be the Seahawks' every-down back, with Justin Forsett possibly the team's third-down back. That leaves short-yardage and goal line work for Duckett, and maybe some change-of-pace work as well. Let's see if he's mentally ready to compete for that.

The Seattle Post-Intelligencer reports the Seahawks will be a team that relies more on the running game under the team's new coaching staff. "Greg Knapp has had tremendous success running the football," head coach Jim Mora said. "So we certainly will be a team that runs the football. ... We'll couple a tremendous run game with a smart, experienced, talented quarterback, and come up with the best packages we can come up with." RB Julius Jones and RB T.J. Duckett are likely to see their roles expand in the offense next season.
The Huddle Take: A Jones/Duckett committee likely spells the end of Maurice Morris' run in Seattle. And the Julius & T.J. combo doesn't do much to stir excitement in fantasy circles, either.
