Denver Broncos QB Case Keenum will be acquired by the Washington Redskins in exchange for a 2020 sixth-round draft choice, according to a source. The Redskins will also receive a 2020 seventh-round draft choice in the deal. Keenum has also agreed to restructure his contract. The Broncos will pay $3.5 million of his 2019 salary, while the Redskins will pay the other $3.5 million. He will also receive a $500,000 bonus from the Broncos.

Huddle Up: Keenum likely will compete for the starting quarterback job with Colt McCoy during training camp, but neither quarterback is a strong fantasy option.

  • Posted: 3/7/2019 2:21pm ET

Denver Broncos QB Case Keenum is receiving trade interest from the Washington Redskins, and both teams are motivated to make the trade, according to sources.

Huddle Up: Keenum likely would compete with Colt McCoy for the starting quarterback job next season. Owners in fantasy leagues probably can avoid the situation since neither quarterback would be a starting option.

  • Posted: 2/27/2019 1:42pm ET

Denver Broncos QB Case Keenum could be traded this offseason, but general manager John Elway prefers to keep Keenum. If Keenum were to stay he would likely need to agree to a pay cut or restructured deal in the $7 million range (plus incentives), according to Mike Klis of 9news.com.

Huddle Up: Keenum is in an awkward position with Joe Flacco expected to start. He struggled mightily in his first year in Denver but has shown starter prowess elsewhere. Nonetheless, Keenum is not on the fantasy radar at this time.

  • Posted: 2/21/2019 9:29am ET

Denver Broncos QB Case Keenum said in a podcast posted Thuesday, Feb. 22, that he was 'shocked' when general manager John Elway called him the previous week to inform him that the team was trading for Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco. As a result, there is now rampant speculation that Keenum will be traded or released, and he said he is preparing for a number of options. 'You know, really, it's really open-ended right now,' Keenum said of his future. 'We don't know what's going to happen, there's still a lot up in the air. This is really fresh. So a lot of these emotions that we're talking about are still kind of going on, still happening. So who knows what's going to be in store? I don't for sure,. God does. But we'll be ready for whatever God has in store for us next.'

Huddle Up: Although he didn't have much around him in Denver by late last season, Keenum disappointed in fantasy and reality. Look for him to be dealt for a low-round draft pick and serve as a backup, most likely providing a veteran option behind a young QB.

  • Posted: 2/14/2019 10:36am ET

Denver Broncos QB Case Keenum could likely be obtained in a trade for a fifth-round draft pick, ESPN's Chris Mortensen said Thursday, Feb. 14. Keenum could be one of the top backups in the league, according to Motensen, and the Tennessee Titans would be an ideal landing spot.

Huddle Up: Titans starting QB Marcus Mariota hasn't played a full year in any of his four pro seasons so far, and he missed three starts this past season with injuries, so Keenum would certainly project as better option than current backup Blaine Gabbert, who had a 74.9 rating and threw as many interceptions (four) as TD passes while making a trio of starts.

  • Posted: 2/7/2019 9:07am ET

Denver Broncos QB Case Keenum claims he isn't overly concerned about the rumors that the team is seeking to add another quarterback following Keenum's uneven first season as the team's starter. 'I follow a little bit of it. I take it for what it's worth,' Keenum said recently in an interview posted on the team's official website. 'It's not something that's affecting me and my preparation and how I'm ready to go as a football player and what my job is. It's not affecting my job. For me, I take more of what my coaches say and the meetings that we've had. I had a great meeting with John [Elway] at the end of the year and we've all got to be better. That's hands down what it comes down to. I was mad just like every other Broncos fan watching all these playoff games and us sitting at home. I feel the same way that we've all got to be better.'

Huddle Up: Elway is feeling mounting pressure to find a longer-term solution under center after the likes of Trevor Siemian, Brock Osweiler, Paxton Lynch and, now, Keenum haven't appeared to be the answer since Peyton Manning's heydays. With Keenum's two-year deal running through next season, most signs point to the Broncos adding a rookie QB -- possibly a first-rounder -- to pair with the veteran Keenum next season.

  • Posted: 1/24/2019 6:12pm ET

Denver Broncos QB Case Keenum has a chance to play well in the team's new offensive system, according offensive coordinator Rich Scangarello.

Huddle Up: Keenum threw for 3,890 yards this season but was held to only 18 touchdowns in 16 games. The Broncos may look to add another quarterback this offseason, so it is not known if Keenum will be with the team next season. Owners in fantasy leagues can avoid Keenum next season even if he is still the starter for Denver.

  • Posted: 1/10/2019 7:02pm ET

Denver Broncos QB Case Keenum is still the starting quarterback for the time being, according to head coach Vic Fangio.

Huddle Up: Granted, Fangio's statement doesn't exactly mean much heading into the offseason, and after Keenum threw 18 touchdowns compared to 15 interceptions in 2018, he is anything but a lock to remain the long-term starter in Denver. If he does open 2019 under center for the Broncos, he will only be a low-end QB2 for fantasy owners.

  • Posted: 12/25/2018 2:27am ET

Denver Broncos QB Case Keenum completed 23 of 37 passes for 202 yards to go with two touchdowns and two interceptions in the club's Week 16 loss Monday, Dec. 24, versus the Oakland Raiders. He also contributed 19 rushing yards on three carries.

Huddle Up: The unspectacular outing continues what has been a downward slide in the season's second half for Keenum since losing Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders. Thus, it's hard to consider him anything other than a QB2 heading into the final week.

  • Posted: 12/15/2018 8:31pm ET

Denver Broncos QB Case Keenum completed 31 of his 48 passes for 257 yards and two interceptions and ran for a one-yard touchdown in a 17-16 loss to the Cleveland Browns in Week 15.

Huddle Up: Keenum has now thrown one touchdown pass or less in five of his last six games, and even with a friendly matchup with Oakland on tap in Week 16, he is a reach as a QB2.

  • Posted: 12/9/2018 7:25pm ET

Denver Broncos QB Case Keenum completed 24 of his 42 passes for 186 yards and a touchdown and rushed four times for 24 yards in a 20-14 loss to the San Francisco 49ers in Week 14.

Huddle Up: Keenum has now thrown for one touchdown or less in four of the last five games, and with limited weapons in the passing game, his lackluster season seems destined to continue.

  • Posted: 12/2/2018 2:08pm ET

Denver Broncos QB Case Keenum completed 12-of-21 passes for 151 yards, a touchdown and no interceptions in the Week 13 game against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Huddle Up: Keenum has 205 or less passing yards in each of the past two outings, and just 11 TD passes with seven INTs over his past 11 outings. Needless to say, he remains more of a low-end QB2 heading into Week 14 in San Francisco. The team isn't likely to change its offensive approach since they've been winning, too.

  • Posted: 11/25/2018 8:27pm ET

Denver Broncos QB Case Keenum completed 15-of-28 passes for 197 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions in Week 12 against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Huddle Up: Keenum has been playing a little better lately, and he has two or more touchdown passes in four of his past seven outings. Still, he is more of a QB2 in most fantasy leagues heading into Week 13.

  • Posted: 11/18/2018 10:39pm ET

Denver Broncos QB Case Keenum completed 19 of 32 passes for 205 yards in Week 11 against the Los Angeles Chargers. Keenum did not account for a touchdown or interception.

Huddle Up: Denver is paying Keenum $18 million this season to basically be Kyle Orton 2.0. Granted, Keenum led them down the field late to secure the win, but up until that point there was the unmistakable aroma of game manager wafting through the StubHub Center. With bye weeks almost done, it's unclear if there'll be a matchup the rest of the way where Keenum is an advisable play.

  • Posted: 11/5/2018 12:14am ET

Denver Broncos QB Case Keenum finished 26-of-42 for 290 yards and one touchdown in Week 9 against the Houston Texans.

Huddle Up: The good news is Keenum avoided throwing an interception for the first time this season. The hard truth is if the Broncos had a viable alternative to Keenum, they would have likely turned to him already. Because Denver signed him to a two-year contract this offseason, it is highly likely the team will draft his eventual replacement next spring. Keenum will be an uninspiring QB2 option in Week 11 against the Los Angeles Chargers when the Broncos return from their Week 10 bye.

  • Posted: 10/28/2018 2:00pm ET

Denver Broncos QB Case Keenum completed 23-of-34 passes for 262 yards, two touchdowns and one interception in the Week 8 game against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Huddle Up: Keenum has thrown at least one INT in each of his eight games, so if you're a fantasy owner you need to be prepared for that. But he also has seven touchdowns over the past four outings with 262 or more passing yards in three of those contests. He remains more of a QB2 in most fantasy leagues, and isn't a bad streaming option in Week 9 against the Houston Texans.

  • Posted: 10/17/2018 12:41pm ET

Denver Broncos QB Case Keenum (forearm) participated fully in practice Wednesday, Oct. 17.

Huddle Up: Keenum has been underwhelming in his first year at the helm of the Broncos. The Arizona Cardinals' pass rush and pass defense isn't one to turn a cheek to. Keep Keenum on the bench if he's still rostered.

  • Posted: 10/15/2018 6:31pm ET

Denver Broncos QB Case Keenum (forearm) was listed as a full participant in practice Monday, Oct. 15.

Huddle Up: The team had a walk-through, so the participation was an estimate. However, he was in the same boat last week and he was able to play, and play well, against a solid Rams defense. Keenum remains more of a low-end QB2 in most fantasy leagues of 12 or more teams, however.

  • Posted: 10/14/2018 8:33pm ET

Denver Broncos QB Case Keenum completed 25-of-41 passes for 322 yards, two touchdowns and one interception in the Week 6 against the Los Angeles Rams.

Huddle Up: Keenum has back-to-back 300-yard games for the first time this season, but oddly enough the Broncos were unable to avoid their fourth consecutive loss. It's a quick turnaround for Week 7 as the Broncos hit the road to battle the Arizona Cardinals.

  • Posted: 10/12/2018 2:56pm ET

Denver Broncos QB Case Keenum (knee) was able to practice in full Friday, Oct. 12 and he has been removed from the injury report ahead of the Week 6 game with the Los Angeles Rams.

Huddle Up: Keenum has been trending upward over the past couple of games, but he faces a stiff test against a sturdy Los Angeles Rams defense ranking No. 9 against the pass in the NFL. Mother Nature might also work against Keenum, as there is a chance of light snow and sub-freezing temperatures for Sunday's game.

  • Posted: 10/11/2018 3:44pm ET

Denver Broncos QB Case Keenum (knee) fully participated in practice Thursday, Oct. 11.

Huddle Up: Keenum posted his second 300-yard game last week, but he has thrown more interceptions than touchdowns in 2018. He will be facing a tough Los Angeles Rams defense this week and should be avoided in all leagues.

  • Posted: 10/7/2018 3:42pm ET

Denver Broncos QB Case Keenum completed 35-of-51 passes for a season-best 377 yards, two touchdowns and one interception in Week 5 against the New York Jets.

Huddle Up: It was Keenum's first 300-yard performance since Week 1, which is also the first time he had a touchdown pass. He still has five touchdown passes and seven interceptions, so he has work to do on the TD-INT ratio before he is worth using as anything more than a QB2 in most fantasy leagues. Keenum faces a tough matchup against the Rams in Week 6.

  • Posted: 10/1/2018 8:50pm ET

Denver Broncos QB Case Keenum completed 21-of-33 passes for 245 yards, no touchdowns and one interception in the Week 4 game against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Huddle Up: After opening the season with three TD strikes against Seattle the quarterback has three consecutive games without a touchdown pass while throwing three interceptions and running for just one score. Keenum will try and rebound in Week 5 on the road against the Jets.

  • Posted: 9/29/2018 12:19pm ET

Denver Broncos QB Case Keenum (knee) practiced in full for a third straight day on Saturday, Sept. 29 and he was removed from the injury report ahead of the Week 4 game with the Kansas City Chiefs on Monday, Oct. 1.

Huddle Up: It's all systems go for Keenum, who has managed just three touchdowns through the air with one rushing score and five interceptions through three games in the Mile High City. However, he could do some things against the Chiefs pass defense, a team tied for dead last in the NFL allowing 362.7 yards per game with eight TDs and just one INT through three games.

  • Posted: 9/28/2018 2:36pm ET

Denver Broncos QB Case Keenum (knee) fully participated in practice Friday, Sept. 28.

Huddle Up: Keenum has been held to under 225 yards in each of the last two games and has zero touchdowns during that span. Owners in all leagues probably should be able to find better options for their lineups this week.

  • Posted: 9/27/2018 4:11pm ET

Denver Broncos QB Case Keenum (knee) fully participated in practice Thursday, Sept. 27.

Huddle Up: Keenum has struggled over the last two games with zero touchdowns and two interceptions during that span. He may have more success this week against the Kansas City Chiefs but should not be a starting option in any league.

  • Posted: 9/21/2018 2:09pm ET

Denver Broncos QB Case Keenum (knee) fully participated in practice Friday, Sept. 21, and is not on the injury report for Week 3.

Huddle Up: Keenum will be fine for the game but is off to a slow start this season. He will be facing a solid Baltimore Ravens defense and probably should be considered a No. 2 fantasy quarterback this week.

  • Posted: 9/20/2018 4:14pm ET

Updating a previous report, Denver Broncos QB Case Keenum (knee) fully participated in practice Thursday, Sept. 20.

Huddle Up: Keenum should be ready to play in the Week 3 game but will be facing a solid Baltimore Ravens defense. Owners in most leagues should be able to find better options and can bench Keenum.

  • Posted: 9/20/2018 11:14am ET

Denver Broncos QB Case Keenum (knee) is participating in practice Thursday, Sept. 20.

Huddle Up: Keenum should be ready to play in Week 3 as long as he does not have any more problems with his knee. He has thrown for 554 yards, three touchdowns and four interceptions in the first two games of the season and probably can stay on the bench this week against the Baltimore Ravens.

  • Posted: 9/19/2018 11:05am ET

Denver Broncos QB Case Keenum (knee) was not present for practice Wednesday, Sept. 19, as he nurses a sore knee, according to as source. His absence was a precaution and he will be back on the practice field Thursday, Sept. 20.

Huddle Up: It's nothing to be overly worried about unless Keenum aggravates the knee in the next couple of days. He's not a recommended start anyway versus the Baltimore Ravens.

  • Posted: 9/16/2018 11:44pm ET

Denver Broncos QB Case Keenum completed 19 of 35 passes for 222 yards, 0 TDs and 1 INT against the Oakland Raiders on Sunday, Sept. 16.

Huddle Up: After throwing all of seven INTs in 481 attempts with Minnesota last year, Keenum has been picked four times in 74 attempts this season. At 2-0 there won't be any complaints in Denver, but it's undeniable that thus far Keenum looks more like the journeyman he was entering 2017 than the guy that led the Vikings to the NFC Championship Game. He's a QB2 with a more than a whiff of downside.

  • Posted: 9/9/2018 7:54pm ET

Denver Broncos RB Case Keenum completed 25 of his 39 passes for 329 yards, three touchdowns and three interceptions in a 27-24 win over the Seattle Seahawks in Week 1.

Huddle Up: Aside from the turnovers, Keenum turned in a solid debut with the Broncos, making the most of Denver's talented group of receivers. He should have a shot at QB1 production against the Oakland Raiders in Week 2.

  • Posted: 8/11/2018 7:43pm ET

Denver Broncos QB Case Keenum completed one of his four passes for five yards in his only series against the Minnesota Vikings in the preseason Saturday, Aug. 11.

Huddle Up: It was a forgettable start to the preseason for Keenum, but with a strong cast of receivers to work with, he has a chance to build on his breakout 2017 campaign. You can grab him as a QB2, and he might surprise with low-end QB1 production.

  • Posted: 8/2/2018 8:53am ET

Denver Broncos QB Case Keenum hasn't thrown an interception in the first five days of practice.

Huddle Up: Can Keenum springboard off the magic from last season into a low-end QB1 in fantasy? Perhaps. You'll likely only need to spend a QB2 pick on him to find out.

  • Posted: 7/31/2018 1:54pm ET

Denver Broncos QB Case Keenum is better now than he was last year, according to head coach Vance Joseph. Joseph cited Keenum's accuracy, command, smarts and feel for the game as defining qualities.

Huddle Up: Keenum has been a sigh of relief for the Broncos so far after the cesspool last year. He is the unquestioned starter for Denver, but not necessarily for fantasy squads. Keenum represents a safe backup and/or bye-week replacement.

  • Posted: 6/2/2018 7:08pm ET

Denver Broncos QB Case Keenum has been taking all of the first-team reps during OTAs, and offensive coordinator Bill Musgrave said the exclusive work is paying dividends.

Huddle Up: It's no surprise that Denver is putting emphasis on Keenum learning the offense, and with a solid receiving corps to work with, he could prove last year's breakout in Minnesota was no fluke. Consider him a high-end QB2.
