Arizona Cardinals QB Carson Palmer will become an unrestricted free agent in 2015.

Huddle Up: Palmer, who threw for a career-high 4,274 yards last season, will turn 35 in December, but the Cards don't currently have their future starting QB on the roster, unless fourth-round pick Logan Thomas develops quicker than expected.

Posted: 5/6/2014 7:39pm et

Arizona Cardinals QB Carson Palmer's comfort level with the offense is expected to show in 2014 and pay huge dividends, according to general manager Steve Keim and head coach Bruce Arians.

Huddle Up: There's a good chance the Cards could draft a young QB to develop this week, but don't sleep too long on Palmer in fantasy drafts as it won't take much of an improvement for the veteran to make a strong push for No. 1 QB status after throwing for a career-high 4,274 yards last fall in his debut season in the desert.

Arizona Cardinals QB Carson Palmer (ankle, elbow) fully participated in practice Thursday, Dec. 26.

Huddle Up: Palmer has been playing with the injuries for weeks so don't expect him to miss the Cards' crucial regular-season finale.

Arizona Cardinals QB Carson Palmer (ankle) will be a game-time decision in Week 16 against the Seattle Seahawks, according to head coach Bruce Arians. Palmer is recovering from a low-grade, high left ankle sprain and has been limited in practice all week. 'Like you think it would be with an ankle sprain,' Arians said. 'He's OK. He's good enough to play. He can move around the pocket as well as he did last week.'

Huddle Up: This might be a QB to avoid if at possible considering its a late-afternoon GDT on the road against the stifling Seahawks' defense.

Posted: 12/16/2013 3:56pm et

Updating a previous report, Arizona Cardinals head coach Bruce Arians said QB Carson Palmer (ankle) is dealing with a low ankle sprain.

Huddle Up: Palmer heads to Seattle this week to boot. if you have ridden him thus far in the second half of the season, now might be the time to bench him.

Arizona Cardinals QB Carson Palmer (ankle) suffered a high ankle sprain in Week 15. He remained in the game, but he will likely be sore this week.

Huddle Up: Palmer is now nursing a sore elbow and bum ankle, but he's played through both and there's no indication he won't continue to do so. You can expect his practice time to be limited this week, however.

Posted: 12/7/2013 11:21pm et

Arizona Cardinals QB Carson Palmer (elbow) is expected to start Week 14 even though he is listed as questionable. Palmer took all of the snaps during the team's walkthrough Saturday, Dec. 7.

Huddle Up: It's good news for Larry Fitzgerald and Michael Floyd owners. Palmer is just a QB2 himself but the Cardinals' offense would be severely downgraded if he weren't under center against the Rams.

Posted: 12/6/2013 6:11pm et

Arizona Cardinals head coach Bruce Arians expects QB Carson Palmer (elbow) to play in Week 14 against the St. Louis Rams despite dealing with an injury to his right elbow. Arians is calling Palmer a game-time decision and will wait until warm-ups Sunday to make a final decision. Palmer is listed as questionable after being limited in practice Friday, Dec. 6. 'I've got to watch him warm up and throw and see how he is,' Arians said. 'I got all the confidence in the world he ain't missing.' QB Drew Stanton would start if Palmer isn't able to go.

Huddle Up: Despite Arians' confidence, this could be tricky -- especially given the Cards' late-afternoon start. If you're going to pencil Palmer in to your starting lineup, just be sure and have another option at the ready.

Posted: 12/5/2013 1:37pm et

Arizona Cardinals QB Carson Palmer's sore right elbow isn't believed to be a serious injury, and he's expected to play against the St. Louis Rams in Week 14. Palmer wasn't sharp in the team's Week 13 loss, underthrowing the ball several times on deep routes after possibly suffering the injury on the third play of the game when he was hit as he threw and fumbled. Palmer was diagnosed with a frayed ligament in his elbow in 2008 but opted not to have Tommy John surgery.

Huddle Up: Palmer still delivered 302 yards and 3 TDs in the Week 13 loss in Philly -- his third straight 300-plus-yard, multiple-TD game -- so hold your concerns until further notice.

Posted: 10/18/2013 2:09pm et

Arizona Cardinals head coach Bruce Arians seemed to leave the door open to making a change at quarterback after QB Carson Palmer threw two more interceptions against the Seattle Seahawks Thursday, Oct. 17. 'It's the reasons for the interceptions. Is it his decision-making?' Arians said. 'If it's his decision-making, then we make a change. But the first one to me was obvious pass interference and the safety makes a great play. The second one was just a poor decision. Those are the ones we have to look at.'

Huddle Up: Hopes were raised in the desert, but so far it's been same story, different season as far as the Cards' QB struggles are concerned. Palmer's 14 total turnovers (13 picks, 1 fumble) trail only Eli Manning's 17 (15-2), and his only 300-yard game came in the season opener vs. the Rams. Drew Stanton is listed No. 2 on the depth chart, but he hasn't played since 2010 when he was with the Lions.

Posted: 10/14/2013 6:40pm et

Arizona Cardinals general manager Steve Keim said he believes QB Carson Palmer is still the team's best option at quarterback even though he has struggled with interceptions. Keim said Palmer has handled adversity well during games but understands that Palmer needs to be more consistent with his play.

Huddle Up: Of course he is. He is also the best option for your fantasy team, at least as far as Larry Fitzgerald and Co. are concerned.

Posted: 10/2/2013 12:44am et

Arizona Cardinals head coach Bruce Arians called his offense 'putrid' in their Week 4 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Arians is shocked at how long it has taken his team to pick up the offensive playbook. 'I haven't seen it take this long ever,' he said. Arizona has converted just two of 21 third downs in their two victories this year. The issues have been linked to dropped passes, bad throws, poor protection and poorly-run routes.

Huddle Up: The Cards have scored one TD in each of their past 2 games, and after a strong Arizona debut in Week 1 (327 yards, 2 TDs), QB Carson Palmer has failed to top 250 yards in each of his past 3 contests and has thrown a combined 2 TDs and 5 picks. The ground game hasn't helped, much, either, with a Cardinal RB failing to rush for more than 29 yards in each of the past 2 weeks. Obviously, there's a lot of room for growth, so keep an eye on Palmer and Co. and see if they can shrug off their growing pains.
