Cleveland Browns RB Willis McGahee (concussion) has been cleared to practice and play in Week 16.

Huddle Up: Toss McGahee into the mix with Chris Ogbonnaya, Fozzy Whitaker and last week's surprise scorer, Edwin Baker as the Browns try to find someone who can run the ball with success against the Jets.

Cleveland Browns RB Willis McGahee (concussion) said he's feeling 'pretty good' and expects to return in Week 16 after being inactive in Week 15.

Huddle Up: Good to see McGahee bouncing back after it appeared his season -- and possibly his career -- might be over, but he doesn't belong in fantasy game-plans at this point as the Browns have struggled rushing the ball all season, no matter who's starting or taking the handoffs.

Posted: 12/12/2013 12:20pm et

Cleveland Browns head coach Rod Chudzinski said he's not sure if RB Willis McGahee's (concussion) season is over. He may have lost consciousness when he suffered his concussion.

Huddle Up: Concussions are not to be trifled with, and whether he wants to play or not McGahee will need to pass the league-mandated tests before returning. This sounds a little more serious than a typical concussion, so don't bank on a return from McGahee this season; the Browns will just have to get by with Chris Ogbonnaya and Fozzy Whitaker.

Posted: 11/22/2013 3:00pm et

Cleveland Browns RB Willis McGahee (knee) practiced in full Friday, Nov. 22, and is probable for Week 12.

Huddle Up: Yeah, McGahee will play -- and likely start -- again the Steelers on Sunday, but by now most of his fantasy owners should realize that Chris Ogbonnaya -- coming off a season-high 15 touches for 99 yards in Week 11 -- has overtaken the veteran as the Browns' top fantasy back.

Posted: 11/8/2013 11:48am et

Cleveland Browns RB Chris Ogbonnaya will start receiving more carries and dip into RB Willis McGahee's workload. McGahee is averaging just 2.6 yards per carry in 100 rushes.

Huddle Up: McGahee hasn't been anything special, so why not give Ogbonnaya some work to see if he can at least play a role in the Browns' backfield going forward. He's already the team's third down back, so if you're in a PPR league desperate for backfield help he'll get you a few catches in addition to the extra carries he's expected to receive.

Posted: 10/31/2013 5:19pm et

Cleveland Browns RB Willis McGahee (knees) is getting the day off from practice Thursday, Oct. 31, to rest his knees.

Huddle Up: McGahee's success has been limited to be certain as he's topped 50 rushing yards in only 1 of his 6 games with the Browns and has accounted for only 1 TD. He's a RB depth option at best right now in most leagues.

Posted: 10/25/2013 4:35pm et

Cleveland Browns RB Willis McGahee (knee) practiced in full Friday, Oct. 25, and is probable for Week 8.

Huddle Up: McGahee returned to practice after sitting out Thursday and could see a few extra carries Sunday as the Browns and new starting QB Jason Campbell don't want to be forced to pass against the league's top pass-rushing team in the Chiefs.

Posted: 10/25/2013 12:21am et

Cleveland Browns RB Willis McGahee (knee) did not participate in practice Thursday, Oct. 24.

Huddle Up: It more or less sounds like a day of rest for the veteran RB and his sore knee. Expect him to return Friday and play Sunday in K.C.

Posted: 9/26/2013 2:46pm et

Cleveland Browns RB Willis McGahee expects improved performance in Week 4 after his first full week of practice with the team.

Huddle Up: It will be interesting to see how much McGahee is utilized going forward. We all knew last week was going to be light given he had just been signed off the street.

Posted: 9/20/2013 10:00am et

Updating a previous report, Cleveland Browns RB Willis McGahee will play in Week 3. The team's offense is similar to the one he was involved in with the Baltimore Ravens.

Huddle Up: McGahee will be in a backfield mix with Chris Ogbonnaya and Bobby Rainey; facing an 0-2 Vikings team in its home opener, with a backup quarterback at the helm, doesn't feel like a good place to look for fantasy help.

Posted: 9/19/2013 4:33pm et

The Cleveland Browns signed RB Willis McGahee (Broncos) Thursday, Sept. 19. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.

Huddle Up: McGahee joins Chris Ogbonnaya and Bobby Rainey as only active RBs on the roster following the surprise trade of Trent Richardson. If you're thinking down the road this season, McGahee is the best fantasy bet, but until he gets up to speed after joining a new offense, not attending training camp, etc., give Browns backs a wide berth.

Posted: 9/18/2013 7:02pm et

The Cleveland Browns will sign free-agent RB Willis McGahee (Broncos) to an undisclosed deal if he passes a physical.

Huddle Up: After trading Trent Richardson to Indianapolis, the Browns will sign McGahee to replace him. Cleveland's offensive line and quarterback play has struggled through two games but the veteran will get the bulk of the carries for the Browns. McGahee should be added in all leagues right away and be considered a flex play once he gets implemented into the offense .

Posted: 8/7/2013 9:25am et

Free-agent RB Willis McGahee has been keeping himself in great shape, and as injuries mount during the preseason he might get calls from teams. However, right now nothing sounds imminent.

Huddle Up: One team that might fit as a home for McGahee is San Diego, where his former offensive coordinator in Denver is now the head coach and Ryan Mathews has hardly proven to be a bastion of good health. McGahee was a solid fantasy player when healthy last year and could be a decent pickup again if he lands in the right situation in 2013.

Posted: 6/13/2013 11:28am et

The Denver Broncos released RB Willis McGahee on Thursday,, June 13.

Huddle Up: Either McGahee or Knowshon Moreno figured to be a summer roster casualty after the Broncos spent a 2nd-round pick on Montee Ball, and the team decided to cut bait early, getting rid of the soon-to-be-32 McGahee, his recent injury issues and his $2.5 million salary.

Posted: 6/11/2013 5:25pm et

Denver Broncos RB Willis McGahee is present for the team's mandatory minicamp on Tuesday, June 11. There was never really much doubt, but McGahee's tenuous roster spot and his absence from OTAs for personal reasons may have given the appearance that there was.

Huddle Up: All fine and good for now, but the soon-to-be 32-year-old veteran is in a real fight for a roster spot, let alone his old starting job, with the Broncos spending a 2nd-round pick on Montee Ball and the presence of second-year back Ronnie Hillman and fifth-year RB Knowshon Moreno.

Posted: 5/30/2013 5:46pm et

Denver Broncos RB Willis McGahee (leg, knee) still hasn't shown up to the team's voluntary OTAs.

Huddle Up: The veteran RB is expected to report for the upcoming mandatory workouts, but with the addition of second-round pick Montee Ball, don't be surprised if either McGahee or fellow RB Knowshon Moreno aren't included in the Broncos' RB plans coming out of training camp.

Posted: 5/9/2013 12:54am et

Denver Broncos RBs Knowshon Moreno and Willis McGahee likely will compete for one roster spot during training camp because the team probably will not keep both. Moreno could have an edge for the No. 3 running back job because he is younger, less expensive and a better receiver than McGahee.

Huddle Up: Younger and cheaper will likely be enough to give Moreno the nod, but keep in mind this is for RB3 duties; rookie Montee Ball is your likely starter with Ronnie Hillman the change-of-pace guy.

Posted: 4/22/2013 5:31pm et

Denver Broncos executive vice president of football operations John Elway said the team sees RB Willis McGahee as a big back and RB Ronnie Hillman as a change-of-pace backs. "With (Willis) McGahee, he's our big back right now," Elway said. "We have Ronnie Hillman who's a 190-pounder change-of-pace type guy. We look at Willis as being that big back for us right now, and then we'll see what happens in the draft."

Huddle Up: McGahee is 32 and not being counted on for feature-back carries; Hillman didn't show enough last season to earn more than change-of-pace work. Knowshon Moreno lingers, but the fact that Elway didn't even mention him doesn't bode well for him having a significant role. The Broncos could spend a mid-round pick on a back as well, but this whole situation smacks of RBBC; plan accordingly.
